I thought i would talk about the Korean brand of nature based beauty products called "The Face Shop".
Again this is the first of its kind to open in Canada in Pacific mall in Markham Ontario which i believe its been open for only a few months now.
The reason for my visit was because i was hoping to try the "Magic Pink Powder Mask" i actually saw a picture of the adorable container on www.yelp.ca uploaded by someone named Karl R. So thank you Karl.
So after further reading i learned that not only was it a cute container but it had some benefits that would be suitable for my skin. It claims to ease skin problems such as breakouts and soften and remove dead skin cells. According to the box you should use it 1-2 times a week for about 10-15 minutes at a time.
I have only used it once this week so far, so results have yet to be seen and i will do a follow up in the coming weeks.
This is a wash off mask pack that's active ingredients are Calamine and Salicylic acid.
Salicylic acid is known for its benefits of helping problem skin and helping to clear up breakouts. Calamine well if you have ever used it for poison ivy you known its benefits to calm irritated skin and itching. Calamine usually is Zinc based which is what is commonly in diaper cream and that not only helps diaper rash but is good for easing sore red pimples on the face as well.
While the mask is on your face you will notice as it dries your face will get dry and have a pulling feeling. Once you wait the 10-15 minutes rinse with warm water.
I noticed my skin felt really soft and hopefully with continued use i will see its affects to clear the skin. My only concern especially for people who have very sensitive skin is that the fragrance level is very strong and may aggravate existing skin problems.
So here we have the super cute packaging. I should also mention that this is a china clay based mask when applying to the face it has a very jelly like texture and dries very powdery.
The product is 65g/2.2 oz. and is $12. Its not a lot of product but should last a while if only being used as directed.
I really hope to see good results with this.
According to www.thefaceshop.com this product is suitable for all skin types.
Now i think with this next product sadly i confess i was sold more on the container then maybe even the product. Its just a simple scented hand cream, but the the small container is so cute who wouldn't want this sitting around on a dresser or vanity.
"Mini Pet Baby" scented hand cream comes in 4 different scents fruity floral, white floral, sweet fruit and i picked the baby powder scent because it had the least floral smell which i am not a fan of. This product only comes in a 30ml size and at $8 that's really not much. However it is perfect for travel to just throw in your bag and go. The cream it self absorbs well and leaves your hands feeling super soft like a baby and nicely scented. However for the size and price i don't know if i would buy it again unless it were for the purpose of a stocking suffer or to accent a gift then it might be worth the splurge.
I will continue using the container with other favorite lotions and creams i enjoy just as much for a fraction of the cost.
The lady that helped me at this location was very nice and answered any questions i may have had. I received 10% off my purchase and was given 4 samples to try as well which is always fun and a great way to discover new products for future purchasing.
I have only tried one of the samples which was the "White Secret" bright capsule body wash and i love it. Normally i like sweet candy or baked good scented bath products but this is very opposite so light, fresh and citrusy smelling. It leaves the skin soft and gently scented, did i see any actual whitening happening that i can't say as only time will tell not just a sample. I do plan to purchase the full size body wash and essence to match, which was another sample in my bag. Both of the items come in 300ml and are $17.25 each.
In the coming days i will be trying the sample of "BABY FACE" sleeping mask aqua drop pack and the "Rice Water Bright" cleansing foam and will give my first impressions on those as well.
So that wraps up my new experience with Korean cosmetics and i hope down the road to continue trying more of these products and sharing my thoughts with you all.
