LA ROCHE-POSAY EFFACLAR

Today I thought I would touch base on some more facial care products which are from the La Roche-Posay line. These items are from the Effaclar collection which specifically targets problematic skin. So if you have oily, sensitive or acne prone skin, then keep reading.

The first item is the PURIFYING FOAMING GEL which is designed for oily sensitive skin. This cleanser will not dry out your skin, but will help to balance out stressed skin and lower the level of sebum being produced. It will get in to the pores to gently cleanse out the impurities that often exacerbate already problematic skin.

I like the very fresh clean herbal/citrus scent to this cleanser, but again I argue that skin care products for problem skin should never have fragrance added into them, as that alone can further skin irritation. I say this because when a label states "FRAGRANCE" as an ingredient that means that there could be another dozen or more added ingredients that are not immediately noted on the label. All those hidden ingredients can in fact play a role in furthering your facial skin problems. So please beware when purchasing. If you have extreme acne or are very sensitive to scent please ensure to make note of this when purchasing products and READ the labels.

The other item here is the DOUBLE ACTION ACNE TREATMENT cream.
When we hear the word cream we often think "oh great! super thick, probably will clog my pores and add to the problem." Well good news! that is not the case with this. The double action treatment has a very light watery texture that goes on smoothly and melts into the skin extremely fast and starts on battling your skin troubles. I only have a tiny tube so I can't say how long term results will be, but my first impression is that it didn't make any drastic change to any small spots I may have had on my face at the time of application. I imagine used in conjunction with the foaming cleanser and used daily for several weeks you may have more noticeable results.

This is quoted from the La Roche-Posay website for this product:
"Breakthrough Technology
Patent-pending combination of Micronized Benzoyl Peroxide [5.5%] to reduce acne and Micro-exfoliating LHA [0.4%] to exfoliate and even texture."
This treatment is fragrance free

Out of the two products I would sooner purchase the foaming cleanser. The other benefits with this particular product is that it is soap and paraben free and ph 5.5 which is considered the optimal ph level for not only facial skin but plants as well.

If you are interested in trying out these products head to your local SHOPPERS DRUG MART  or fine retailer that carries La Roche-Posay products. See if you can get samples to try before committing to the purchase in case these products are not right for you.

If you do want to purchase the full size products the foaming gel comes in a 200ml tube and is $20 which is very reasonable.

The DOUBLE ACTION ACNE TREATMENT comes in a 40ml tube and is about $30

SO FIND A SHOPPERS DRUG MART LOCATION NEAR YOU OR YOU CAN ORDER FROM WELL.CA. IF YOU LIVE IN THE U.S LA ROCHE POSAY CAN ALSO BE FOUND AT ULTA
