MAYBELLINE PURE PIGMENTS PART 2

Hi Everyone,

So if you haven't checked out part 1 of my Maybelline pure pigment reviews then have a look to see the colours wild gold, brash blue, pink rebel and downtown brown.

Today's review will cover the remaining four colours in the collection. As mentioned previously I opted not to purchase the 9th pigment called "Black Mystery."

Starting with 35 BREAKING BRONZE. This is truly a feast for the eyes in all its bronze glory. If you love maxing out that bronze goddess look for summer then this is the pigment for you. I love this its such a warm colour that gives that lite from within feeling.

Such a tropical feeling takes over me when I look at this colour and it makes me think of a beautiful Hawaiian sunset, pina colada's and the smell of rich tanning oil and exotic fruits. Wow all that from a colour. However as mentioned in my previous post you do not have to wear this quite as bold you can use a gentle hand and apply sparingly and really sheer it out so its not as intense.

This next colour is 15 POTENT PURPLE. To my surprise when I did the swatch on the back of my hand it was actually not quite as intense as I was expecting. I will be doing many looks using all the pigments for some up coming Instagram pics, and will have to play around with this colour to see how much I can build it on the eye. So my final thoughts are obviously far from over in regards to this colour. There is a sheen of iridescent blue playing gently in the background, but I feel Maybelline held back with this one and it's almost there, but not quite. Lovely no less.

Now moving on to the last two which are my personal faves. First is 55 BARELY BRAZEN. This is the perfect light reflecting, feminine, sexy, champagne colour that is sure to get those eyes noticed. I can already think of many different ways to utilize just this one pigment and it's all going to be so much fun. It seems it is a very light pinky gold with a mild peachy undertone that commands your attention. Its the kind of colour that you see on eyes of others and think "what is that she/he is using?"

Its almost like the most perfect pair of satin ballerina shoes that you can not stop looking at. I feel this colour is likely going to be one of the hottest sellers in this collection, so get yours soon or as soon as they are available near you.

Last but not least is a very bold statement colour which is 5 NEVER FADE JADE. This colour screams attention and is not for the meek. I love it because anything that conveys the idea of water for me is sure to be a hit. All though I am a Libra which is an air sign we equally gravitate to water so that is probably where my passion for it comes from. So if I can't be immersed in water, why not wear something that reminds me of it.

So my one and only argument with this particular pigment and it may seem trivial is the name. I realize there are green tones within this, but when I think Jade I think green deep and rich or creamy green. This to me friends is more like dark cyan or teal, please do correct me if you feel I am wrong. No less I love this colour and look forward to using it often, along with all the others.

I would like to add that all 8 colours plus the 9th one "Black Mystery" are in Canadian Stores now. However I do realize there are 3 other colours which I am not even sure we Canadians will see as sometimes is the case with these collections. For the note though those three additional colours are called Forest Fatale, Improper Copper and Buff and Tuff. If they do release these colours as well I am not sure I would want the copper or buff and tuff as there is a lot of similar colours in the collection already. I am however very interested in seeing the Forest Fatale, which seems like an interesting green to play around with and I think would compliment brown eyes wonderfully.

Again for about $9 you get 1.5g in a small jar, but a very little goes a long way.
