GREETINGS,
On a handful of occasions I had been to Target I kept eyeing this 12 pan palette called "Jewel of an eye" from Sonia Kashuk which was limited edition for the holiday. I have to admit that after my experience with her quad called "textured rose" I was hesitant to try the shadows again, however when I checked the price of this palette it ended up being on clearance for $9 from $20. Also looking at the darker jewel tone colours it offered I had a feeling this might work out better.
I like the packing its pretty sturdy and has a fairly good snap closure that I feel won't pop open even if its jostled about in your makeup bag. You get 9.6g total product and all the shadows are satin finish. Now before I show them to you lets break down the difference in eyeshadow finishes since many people get confused with this.
Frosted- Has an opaque finish that can have either a white or silver sparkle. You often will see light pastel shades with this finish and are better suited for younger skin as it will brighten the eye. Some times you will see a much older woman making the error of wearing such a finish of eyeshadow because maybe she loves the colour all the while not realizing this frosted finish actually draws more attention to the parched or sagging skin of the upper eye lid and drawing your eye to every line and wrinkle on that persons eyelid.
Satin- If your a person that may be on your way to getting older, but don't always want to wear matte shadows, and want a more gentle sparkle to your eye look without looking to glittery like your 16 then satin finish is a good choice. This is a good option for most everyone as a general rule.
Shimmer- Often more sheer coverage with a hint of sparkle. You can find a large range of colours in this finish and all though it can be worn by all ages I would say that satin is still a better option to me personally. When I think shimmer I think light bright highlighting shades. What do you think???
So moving on here are all the delicious swatches of this beauty of a palette
I love all the colours, the are rich and highly pigmented. The swatches were done over my Hard Candy "eyes the limit" primer. You get a lot of colour pickup with just one touch and as I was swatching I noticed no fall out. These eyeshadows also have an incredible velvety consistency and seem they will blend with total ease.
This is the first chance I have had to even touch these shadows since I purchased them over three weeks ago.
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS PALETTE AND IS THERE A PRODUCT BY SONIA KASHUK THAT YOU LOVE OR HATE???
THANKS FOR READING EVERYONE AND BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR LOCAL TARGET FOR MANY OTHER ITEMS FROM SONIA KASHUK
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY XO:)
This palette is stunning. I love the colors in this palette. The quality looks amazing. Great job discribing the different finishes. Thanks for sharing this one with us.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I did not let my previous experience sway me from buying this because I would have literally been passing up a gem of a palette. I would highly recommend these 12 pans if you see them near you. Thanks for reading and good to have your feedback again. :) xo
DeleteIsn't that funny how one thing from a line can be a total dud and then another can be a homerun? Lol
ReplyDeleteThis palette is beautiful and I love how rich and deep the colors are. Especially that plum color. Absolutely gorgeous!! :)
Absolutely true. However I try to remember as well the chemistry behind the makeup and that it too is all about trial and error. I can't wait to get some more in other colours if I can find them near me. This was the last one and kind of the luck of the draw for me that particular day. I also like that you have colours that are bold and then some neutrals. A nice versatile palette as well:) thanks for stopping by sweets. Xo
DeleteWow you had much better luck with this palette! The color look rich and pigmented. Thanks for sharing!
