Hi Everyone,
Lets get right to it!
For the past several months now there has been a big increase in the makeup world for strong contoured looks, which are seen in magazines, on runways and especially on Instagram from many self-proclaimed makeup artists. Contouring is one of the oldest makeup methods, often used especially for film when everything was black and white and contouring made features more apparent. However my memories of contouring came from the incredible makeup artistry of Kevyn Aucoin. He was and always will be the master of transformation in the world of makeup and a true legend of his craft. The book Making Faces blew my mind the first time I leafed through its pages 16 years ago, as it was techniques I had never seen before. It made me realize what a profound tool makeup can truly be, including the art of face sculpting and dark and light.
Now Make Up For Ever wants to help you master this technique with their new offering the Pro Sculpting Duo. This duo will naturally accent the face, while offering up an undetectable contour. This contour duo is a gel to powder formulation with no talc. It blends beautifully and with ease which is especially good for those who are new to contouring. It feels very light weight on the skin and gives the skin a healthy glow.
There are two offerings one is light with cool undertones and tan with warm undertones. The sculpting duo has spherical powders and polymers to smooth out the skin to make it look flawless and leaving a silky finish behind. Synthetic Mica is known for its light reflecting qualities which is what will give you that radiant effect. Micronized Pigments of pure colour create a more naturally defined appearance.
PRO SCULPTING DUO #2 GOLDEN
8G $45 (ALSO AVAILABLE IN 1 PINK BEIGE)
The golden duo I received is beautiful, but intended for darker skin tones. As of right now because it's been a nasty harsh winter and my skin is the shade of a marshmallow the contour shade leans mildly orange on me, but I know come the summer when my skin darkens up this will be fantastic, not just for contouring, but for bronzing as well. The highlight shade in this duo has been called the dupe for Heat Wave by Estee Lauder. I have not seen Heat Wave in person, but from pictures Heat Wave seems a bit brighter and whiter and this highlight as its name sake is more golden.
This duo was easy to work with and I like that the two products are together in one compact and your not fishing around for each item and it's more travel friendly. The sculpting duo is easy to blend out with no harsh lines left behind and the highlight is stunning. If you love a strong highlight this duo is for you, leaving your skin with a creamy ethereal finish.

DeleteI haven't dabble in contour yet, but I've been dying too! Would you recommend this product for a beginner?
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely gorgeous btw!
Yes I would recommend it because it blends so easily and if you go on line and follow a face chart it's pretty much fool proof. And thank you, you are far to kind xo
DeleteHey love. Long time no speak. I'm so glad that you're back at it again. I hope you're well. :) Your hair has gotten so long! You look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI've heard so many good things about this duo. I actually just watched a video on it yesterday. I love the highlight! It isn't too shimmery, which is my biggest pet peeve of highlighters. I love a nice soft and natural highlight. :)
Hey girl! I hope your keeping well?
DeleteHow have things been with you? Thanks for coming by for a read, and please don't be a stranger. Thank you for your kind comment. Yeah I finally decided to grow out my hair, it still has a ways to go yet before it's at my desired length.
