I am sure most of you are familiar with ET Canada's Cheryl Hickey (if not! where have you been?) Cheryl has been gracing us with her presence since 2005 bringing us the most up to date news about all things celebrity. We have seen Cheryl covering the excitement of the red carpet for the Emmys and the Oscars, interviews with the hottest celebs and one of my faves covering the New Years Eve bash in Niagara Falls. However, that's just the tip of the iceberg for this busy mom, wife and now entrepreneur. Cheryl's favourite place of all is with her husband and cutie pie children. As a mom myself, I absolutely can relate to that, there is no better feeling than being with family and feeling the embrace of tiny hands encompassing us with love.

I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to interview Cheryl and ask my own questions regarding her newest project natural skincare called OURS.
OURS is a collection of multi use products the whole family can enjoy. So instead of having dozens of products around the house you have just a few that literally the youngest to the oldest can use, with everyone's sensitivities in mind. It is currently exclusive to Rexall, but to my understanding will be available on the OURS website for purchase later on this year.
If I had more time I would have loved to talk about all the things Cheryl Hickey has accomplished and enjoys in her personal life, but staying focused on the brand I had time to ask just a few questions
1. What was the personal motivation behind bringing out an all natural skin care line like OURS?
Cheryl - "When my son was born he had very sensitive skin, the products on the market at the time were very confusing because they had a laundry list of chemicals that I did not know what they were. So I went back to basics using coconut and olive oil on my son (also a practice Cheryl knows well because her mom used the same things with both Cheryl and her sister growing up). So I began talking to my agent and family about coming out with my own line. I then received a
serendipitous phone call from Swisspharme saying they too were interested in doing a line, so we collaborated together and gave birth to this beautiful line. We talk about things being safe, healthy and honest. The chemists work very hard to find active ingredients that will do what they say they are going to do."
2. Overtime can fans of the brand expect a cosmetic line down the road?
Cheryl - "Oh gosh! never say never. We are constantly working on new things and have very interesting meetings and dialogues about where we want things to go. Sure that would be a very exciting thing, but I think there is a few other steps we need to do and want to do in the market-place. So, we are concentrating on those right now."
(There is going to be further product development, but I will leave that to Cheryl to share with her fans when the time calls for it)
3. Which OURS product could you not live without?
At First Cheryl replied with "All of them" and rightfully so, but I told her it could only be one. She did manage to narrow it down to two. She replied with "The Head to Toe Wash and the Anything Balm because it's something that can service my entire family, and we use regularly. The Head to Toe wash is something we just rip through in our house because it's our hand soap, body wash, and hair shampoo this stuff is just everything. The Anything Balm is great for all seasons, it soothes, it protects, it just is a great product."
4. What are you most proud of with the OURS collection
Cheryl - "I am most proud of the quality the chemists have created for families like mine. I am proud that this desire for something better for my family and yours is out there and affordable for everyone."
5. What factors go into your decision to create a new product?
Cheryl - " The factors that go into making new products are what the marketplace needs, what consumers want and what I believe in as a mom and co-creator of OURSBYCH."
I hope that this has given you the reader some insight as to how passionate this project is to Cheryl. It also helps families like mine who all have varying degrees of allergies and sensitivities to a lot of different products have piece of mind knowing there is a very good quality, affordable option out there waiting for us. I look forward to seeing the future of OURS for years to come. Who knows maybe my own son will one day be using the line with his own family because that's what the OURS message conveys to me being accessible and available to everyone and everyone in a family.
