SIGMA BRUSHES FROM OBSESSED CANADA

I hope you're all having a great summer

My review today is a quick one on the Sigma E40 Tapered Blending brush. I know this is not a new brush, and has often been dubbed the dupe for the MAC 224. I thought I would share my view on this very popular brush.

The body of the Sigma brushes are made of sustainable wood and finished in 8 coats of black paint. The ferrule is made from a high-performance alloy to with stand daily handling, washing and varying environmental factors. The bristles are synthetic, so no worries that our furry friends are being harmed.

My first impression of the E40 brush is that it is nice and fluffy, and the tapered tip allows for more accurate crease colour concentration. You can also get a nice blowout of colour while buffing any harsh lines, and adding in your transition colour. The E40 also works well if you want to add highlight to the bridge of your nose. This is the type of brush that anyone doing or using makeup should have in their collection. The E40 acts as a multitasking brush which can, in essence, replace several. If you were really in a pinch you could do a whole eye look only using this brush, but where is the fun in that?

The Sigma E40 washes up well and retains its shape. I recommend using "One with Nature Naked shea soap" you can read that review HERE

Hey Canadian readers did you know you can now purchase Sigma brushes through Obsessed Canada which is the sister site to Nail Polish Canada
Click HERE for a direct link to their website and all the Sigma brushes they carry and more.

The Sigma E40 is $20 CAD
See website for pricing of all Sigma brushes

So if you can't afford the hefty $40 Mac brush price tag, Sigma is a happy alternative

ECO TOOLS MATTIFYING FINISH MAKEUP BRUSH

Hi all,

Today in review is a newer brush to the EcoTools line, which caught my attention due to the new detailing on the ferrule and the light coloured brush head.

Ecotools claims this brush will help reduce oil and shine for a fresh look that lasts all day.

This is a duo fiber design to create a flawless look with either pressed or loose powder, by blending long straight bristles with short wavy ones. Ecotools states this is a unique brush, but its not! this type of bristle mixture already exists in the Make Up For Ever brush range. I don't find this to be the softest brush I own, but I do like the way it disperses powder over my face and I like the overall design. The bristles are fairly well packed, but leave enough room for give to move product around at the same time. I have been using this with my Maybelline matte + poreless pressed powder and I do like the results overall.

I noticed on Ecotools website a set of brushes with another new design on the ferrules as well, which I am glad to see because up till now even though ecotools are nice brushes I have always thought the design to be a little to basic.

I think if you already have similar brushes in your collection this is not a must have, but if you like the look of it and want to give it a try you'll be looking at around $10 CAD for one or $30 for a set of 4.

PURE ANADA VEGAN BRUSH SET

Hi everyone,

I have recently discovered a company that is new to me called "Pure Anada" I will be sharing a travel set of makeup brushes with you today and then will do separate post featuring some other Pure Anada items I purchased.

First lets start with who "Pure Anada" is. They are a company that offers products that are pure and natural and the ingredients are sourced from around the world. The products themselves are made in Manitoba, Canada.

Pure Anada wanted to offer cosmetics that didn't have all kinds of bad ingredients that can have short or long term effects on your health as you use them, as with most other common known brands on the market.

So what will you NOT find in Pure Anada mineral cosmetics
NO synthetic preservatives, dyes, fragrances, flavours, parabens, formaldehyde, petrochemicals, nano/micronized particles, carmine.

Nor does Pure Anada's products contain the following No gluten, No tree nuts and No Bismuth Oxychloride.

Pure Anada has also been certified cruelty free by the "Leaping Bunny Program" So rest assured no furry friends have had to suffer for your cosmetic or brush purchase.

Now on to the good stuff. Lets look at the "Vegan Brush Set" which includes the following items

- Mini flat-top foundation brush
- Dome shaped blush brush
- Oval shadow brush
- Contour shadow brush
- Angled Liner/Brow brush
- Retractable Lip brush
- Canvas Brush roll with a zippered pouch

The brush roll is very well made with  a simple design that can also easily be thrown in the wash for a quick freshen up. Very portable for travel

The brushes are very nicely made from synthetic micro-fiber with sustainable bamboo handles. The purpose of each brush is printed on the handles for ease of use.

Here is a close up of each brush

DOMED SHAPE BLUSH BRUSH

 MINI FLAT TOP FOUNDATION BRUSH

 CONTOUR SHADOW BRUSH

 OVAL SHADOW BRUSH

ANGELED BROW/LINER BRUSH

 RETRACTABLE LIP BRUSH

I think this set is quite nice and the brushes are very soft. However the one thing you must know about this set is that the brushes are not standard size. The longest brush would be the blush brush and its only 5" and the rest of the brushes are only 4". I won't deny it I was a quite surprised at how small the actual brushes are which I found a little unimpressive considering they were $30.

I would like to see Pure Anada bring out a broader range of full size brushes and sets in the future, but keep them affordable. I think the pictures on the website in which I purchased from are fairly miss leading, you would have no idea how small they really are till you get them.

I will say though that even though the brushes are quite small they perform well and I find they are good for small detail work and because the handles are short you have better control working with them.
Here is a look I created and posted to my Instagram using the eye brushes along with a couple of Pure Anada's mineral shadows (review to come in separate post)

All in all I am happy with this set and give it a 4 out 5, only because the size versus price.

Hope you found this post useful and be sure to check out Pure Anada's website for more info and a full range of products.

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF PURE ANADA???

HAVE A GREAT DAY AND THANKS FOR READING
XOXO:)
