ESSENCE MINI HAUL AND REVIEW

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would share a few eyeshadows and lipsticks from Essences with you.

I find Essence to be affordable fun colours for everyone.

(All eyeshadow swatches are done with a primer) The first of 4 eyeshadow single pans I wanted to share is

#56 HYPED UP
This eyeshadow is a vibrant grape soda purple sure to please those looking for high impact colour. Purple for me lately has been a disappointment from varying brands, so this was a refreshing change that the colour payoff was actually decent.

However the one company that offers a comparable and impressive purple quad palette is Sedona Lace in their Babe collection (due check it out as well).

#62 JOHN LEMON

Not quite the Beatles, but sure is a stand out rocking lemon yellow shadow no less. I like that you can sheer this one out and even use it to highlight the brow bone, or build it up to really show the yellow pigment.

John Lemon has a nice golden yellow shimmer once applied to the skin

#30 HAPPY HOUR
Pour yourself a "Blue Lagoon" and get your eyes party ready with this beautiful blue that will have all eyes on you. A soft gentle blue with just the right amount of shimmer and pairs beautifully with the richness of "Hyped Up"

HAPPY HOUR has very similar colour quality to Maybelline's colour tattoo in the limited edition colour "Icy Mint"

#11 WILD AT HEART

I think dark navy eyeshadow is so sexy if applied right and done as an alternative to the basic black and grey toned smoky eye look. It does have a touch of shimmer, but not enough to even discourage those who are a bit older and prefer more matte eyeshadows.

Lastly for eyeshadow is one colour from the FANTASY QUAD which is an unusual colour that's a deep blue/green

This colour and "Happy Hour" tend to have a strong foil finish. So if that's what you like grab yourself some of these beautiful eyeshadows today.

I love that they are also only $2.49 CAD

Essence website shows they offer 15 different single pans all of which availability will vary depending on where you buy yours.

To finish up today's review I have two lipsticks the first is

#57 MORE TO LOVE
This colour looks very dark and berry toned in the tube, but once applied is more a glossy berry tone with sparkle in it, which is ok, but surprisingly I have not been loving as much as of late. At one time I wanted sparkle in everything, but sometimes you need to put the brakes on and really think about that especially once you are getting older. There is a time and place for everything, sadly even sparkle. One other thing with sparkle lip stick or even sparkle gloss you feel the grit from the sparkle and I hate that, I'm sure some of you know what I am talking about.

MORE TO LOVE

RED CARPET

Red Carpet is ultra red and super creamy on the lips. This to me is a red that should be in your collection, keep in mind that it does have an orange undertone.
That is also the other thing with sparkle lip stick or even gloss you feel the grit from the sparkle and I hate that.

My favorite thing about Essence lipsticks is that they smell like candy. Essence lipsticks due bleed a bit and last a standard amount of time if your eating or drinking.

Lipsticks are aprox.$2.99 CAD

For the most part I enjoy Essence brand and there products are good for those on a budget. I do highly recommend their eyeshadows. I own about a dozen now and really have no complaints, some colours are a little chalky, but hey! nothing in this world is perfect.

I noticed on Essence website they have about 10 lipsticks available, 5 of which are new shades so check it out at

or find a Shoppers Drug Mart location near you for a selection of Essence products as it seems this brand is exclusive to Shoppers.

Thanks for reading as always and

STAY BEAUTIFUL
