ANIMAL ON MY ARM JUICY COUTURE CHEETAH DAYDREAMER TOTE

 HI EVERYONE

I  thought I would do a bit of a different post today just highlighting my thoughts on animal print and its come back for the fall'13 season. This happens over and over again especially over the years I have been around. One minute we all love it, then we hate it because it's not trending, but yes I do realize there are those who just are at "all out war with animal print" as a whole. How can we tastefully work it into our outfits without it being clichéd as "Uber Tacky". Also I will give you my thoughts on my Juicy Couture Cheetah bag.

I find the easiest way to incorporate animal print in to you wardrobe is by using it as a statement piece and do so with one or two items do not go beyond that. If I see someone decked out entirely in animal print the first thought to my mind is "Peggy Bundy" from the old tv show "Married With Children" and I am sure that is not the message you want to convey (or it might be?) ;P

I think items like rings, earrings, necklaces, scarves, hand bags, wallets even gloves can work. I think SOME shoes can work, NOT all. I have seen some pretty bad animal print shoes. You want it to look animal print not like your wearing the carcass on your foot or on your arm.
The one item I absolutely loath for animal print is big faux fur car coats or hats (thinking of Janine from Ghostbusters right now). Its fine if its say a black trench coat with a small trim of animal print, same with a hat, but not the entire thing.

For me personally I don't LOVE animal print, but I do like it on occasion when fashioned the right way. However don't let me catch you wearing animal print harem/ Mc Hammer pants you may end up with barf on them, that's just me.

Now for the Juicy Couture Bag. I want to love this bag, but it's flawed in some ways in my eyes.

I love the shape of this bag only when it's stuffed like this and retaining it's shape, but I don't carry a lot in a hand bag so that ruins it right there for me

The Lining is pretty but the reality is with prolonged use it will get dirty and will take on a nasty grey hue that is unavoidable. The zippered compartment is well made and the heavy brass zipper pull is a strong highlight.

The heart shaped J is nothing more then a mirror which for some may be useful and is cute, but I don't imagine myself reaching for this much, nor have I ever since having owned this for over two years now.

The leather and brass detail for me was one of the strongest selling points with this hand bag, because I find this to be a classic look for hand bags.

I am never much of a fan of large monograms or a lot of monogramming on bags especially Louis Vuitton's  signature look for their collection, which I often find is visually a distraction from appreciating the design of the overall bag itself. However due to the cheetah print on this bag its not as noticeable in person, plus I do love the Scottie dogs as I am Scottish and this is pleasing to me. Normally I find monogramming of large proportion often just screams "Look at my bag, look at who I am carrying" and I find that tasteless. I actually quite prefer "Understated Elegance" and people who are more humble of their wealth and belongings. It's fine to be proud, but not arrogant.

This BOW has got to go, this is the biggest disappointment of this entire bag. I am in no way a girlie girl at all so this may have been the worse possible choice for me purchasing this bag, plus the fabric is a low grade linen and there are better options out there.

Lastly the bottom of the bag, do you know what the problem is???
To me any good quality, higher end bag especially when the price is reflective of it should always have feet. So the fabric, leather, etc is not being ruined by rough surfaces.
Especially when the grossest practice I see women doing is resting their handbag down on a public bathroom floor then take that same bag back to the table in a restaurant and plop it right up there where the food it "RANK" to say the least. Also why would you perhaps spend $200 to sometimes thousands of dollars on a hand bag only to abuse it that way.

So in case your wondering as well why this bag looks in great condition for how long I have had it? Well I seldom carry it. It doesn't go with a lot of my clothing choices, nor my lifestyle. Also I have very serious back problems that hinder me from carrying much. Once this bag is full it weighs a lot which is another huge draw back for me.

So there she will sit looking pretty in my closet, but she may come out for a walk or two with me this fall for a change.

TO CLOSE TODAY'S POST EVEN IF YOU LOVE TO WEAR ALL OUT ANIMAL PRINT HEAD TO TOE AS LONG AS IT'S MAKING YOU HAPPY THEN THATS ALL THAT REALLY MATTERS RIGHT??? PEOPLE LIKE ME THAT DON'T PREFER IT TO THAT DEGREE... WELL WE CAN JUST TURN OUR HEAD AND MIND OUR BUSINESS;)

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS IF YOU OWN A HANDBAG FROM JUICY COUTURE AND HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT IT OVERALL???

STAY BEAUTIFUL XO

  2. I feel juicy is for a younger person. Dobt get me wrong I love them and I want one but I don't feel it hits my age bracket 37-38. I also hate big emblems like the Louis you mentioned. As for animal prints I just can't I don't know why I just can't.

  4. This is a great post my love! Your purse is too FIERCE for me lol. I'm usually not keen on animal printed clothing or accessories but this fall I am making it my mission to find a leopard print scarf or some leopard print flats to be a statement piece in my outfit.

I like Juicy Couture bags (the leather ones), I'm not fond of the velour material (sorry if I'm wrong on the material) but generally speaking, I'm not fond of cloth material bags because knowing me, they just get dirty too too fast!

I totally agree with you about pricier bags having feet on the bottom of it to prevent the bottom of the bag getting dirty.

My most prized possession (handbag wise) is my LV Speedy 40. It's so frustrating to be toting that dear ole thing, esp. to the public restroom! Best believe though, Lizzy makes sure to keep a plastic grocery store bag to put my purse in while it's on the floor (if I have no choice but to put it on the floor) haha!

    Love youuuuu beautiful! xoxo

  5. LOL, I think that purse is even to fierce for me:/ I am not normally fond of fabric bags either, but I have been trying to avoid real leather, but I have seen some super pretty vinyl bags that would be a suitable match.
I have to start looking at much smaller bags. The one bag I have that I use daily is Sherpani which is more for people who have active outdoor lifestyle's and is made of Nylon which is extremely durable and perfect for life with a child. I love it, but it's not a bag that is for fashion its for function.
Glad you agree with the comment on feet.
So not to be misunderstood I too think the LV Speedy is a stunning bag, but its stunning enough design wise it doesn't need the monograms. I would love if LV did a speedy in black pebbled leather with a sliver plate similar to Michael Kors brass plate and had the LV laser etched in and finished with high shine black enamel (YUP should have been a handbag designer;P lol) Sometimes less is more.
YES Please Liz don't ever put that LV on the bathroom floor, it to snazzy to be standing in pee;P
Thanks so much for reading my post xo

    1. I can just see you rock this Juicy purse perfectly though! Oooh please share with us what pretty vinyl bags you find because I would love to carry a cute one! I need something strong to hold mine and the tot's essentials!

I've never heard of Sherpani but that does sound interesting and possibly suitable for me and the tot =)

Lol, I totally agree! You should have been a handbag designer!!! I can definitely imagine the design for this purse and that sounds absolutely beautiful!!! I wish the Speedy bags could be available in a solid color instead of just printed monos... Maybe one of these days, LV will surprise us because I've noticed that they have been pushing out more variety in colors and designs on other handbags, I love the Speedy because it's so big and roomy, *sigh* One can only wish for now =)

I enjoyed this post very much because I am an undercover crazy handbag lady so keep em coming mama! xoxo

  6. I am a leopard print fanatic and I usually love anything it comes in. However, I'm not entirely crazy about this bag for the same reasons that you mentioned lmao. I guess our October twin-ness is coming out because it's just extremely busy inside and out. Like you said, I love animal print as accent pieces rather than the main attraction lol.

I have back issues myself, but I can't help but always have my purse completely full! I carry around so much crap and the fact that my current bag is heavy by itself, haha! I love your honesty and straight-to-the-point attitude in this post. I appreciate it so much lol. :) <3
