ALMAY EYE SHADOW SOFTIES (IMPRESSIVE)

HI ALL,

Today I wanted to share with you the new Almay eye shadow softies. These eyeshadows feel soft and almost a bit damp at first touch (very similar to the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush), but once applied and blended dry to a beautiful high shine metallic finish. I picked up three because I find till now there has not been a lot that Almay offers that has really blown my mind. I do like their lip balm stains and CC cream, but that's the extent of it.

These single pan eyeshadows could be the game changer. They come in matte or metallic finishes, which all the ones I picked are metallic. I absolutely think these are gorgeous and very reasonably priced. I can't wait to see how they perform.

First is Crème Brulee  which is the most delicate and pretty champagne shimmer.

As I mentioned this is a delicate colour so it adds more of a highlighting effect then anything. Just be careful because as you can see I really smashed my finger into the product creating quite the indent. They are very soft once they start warming up under your finger, which is how I recommend you apply this product.

The other colour is MIDNIGHT SKY which is a real show stopper. I love the impact of this particular blue and if you choose no other colour from the collection I urge you to get this one.

You can count on turning some heads wearing this amazing metallic blue and it will compliment many skin tones as well. I would love to see a woman of colour create a holiday look using this bold blue.

lastly is the colour MOSS which is an unusual greenish gold colour. I think this is a really neat colour and I look forward to playing around with it.

I can't say how long they last on the eye as I have not used them yet to do a look, but based on my first impression it seems they adhere to the skin well. I will try to update at a later time.

These single pans are 2g and are $5 CAD and can be found a many drugstores and big box stores such as Walmart. At my local store there was about 10 different shades to choose from.

I HOPE YOU LOVED THESE COLOURS AS MUCH AS I DO AND YOU TOO WILL TRY THEM SOON.

LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE AN ALMAY SOFTIES OR PLAN ON TRYING THEM SOON.

THANKS FOR READING AND COME BACK SOON FOR MORE FROM MAKEUP'ASYLUM

XOXO

  1. They're gorgeous! I'm going to see where I can buy them here in the states. I'm in love with all three of the colors that you chose. I definitely want to start going out of my comfort zone with looks. I don't go into my local Wal Mart anymore (definitely not a pleasant experience). I agree though, almay doesn't really "wow" me all the time. Although I used to love their skin-matching foundation and concealer.

Great review. I'd love to see a look from these<3

    1. Hope you can find them. I truly am impressed the one and only draw back is only really being able to apply with your finger. However I don't mind to much, but I have read complaints about that. I will try to do a look at some point. Thanks for reading my darling xo:)

  2. Those are all so pretty and I must admit, quite impressive! I remember buying the Almay foundation (the SmartShade one?) and didn't see it work or cover like how I wanted it to (this was YEARS ago before I started to truly appreciate makeup) and ever since then I don't think I ever went back to their brand again. From time to time I would remember checking the Almay section out to see if there was anything new or good but nothing ever caught my eyes.

Now THESE are a different story! The colors you bought are gorgeous and I love the pigmentation! Stunning! Creme bruless is my most favorite out of the three! hehe. I look forward to hearing an update from you on the staying power my lovely! Thank you for sharing this with us! XOXO

    1. Yeah honestly I bought that smart shade foundation and concealer and was not interested at all, very sheer coverage and did not adjust very well. Glad these seem to be the step up Almay is needing.

  3. Moss is my absolute fave. We're testing out the whole set at work right now and that's a clear winner for me.

    1. I feel like companies like Almay and even CoverGirl are all having to up their A game because other brands like Maybelline, Revlon and L'Oreal are stealing all the thunder. However that's good it makes them work harder to bring out more quality products.
