TATTOO & DREAM BOUNCE

Good day,

I have stated this before, I am generally not a huge fan of blush, but I have been trying to embrace it. The hardest part is finding the right colour for yourself. You may see others wearing blush and think "Oh! that looks pretty on them." However most of the time I feel unless its very well blended out blush often looks clownish. I also feel on most people its the least flattering as well. Oh! and if you have acne on your cheeks or generally rough skin I think blush is a big "NO, NO" your just drawing more attention to the unwanted visitors on your face. This is a lot of the reasons I also don't normally like blush for myself, why would I want to make a pink or red pimple any more pigmented?!?!? Just sayin!
Also keep in mind yes there are some people that are gifted with great, maybe even fantastic skin, but also a lot of people you see in ads, blogs, pictures posted to Instagram or their Facebook page have done amazing jobs photoshopping, or photocorrecting their pictures. I am certain if you encountered these people in everyday life they look nothing like this, because the truth is unless you have stellar skin do you want to post photo's of yourself barefaced??? I think not. So after my overwhelming introduction lets take a look at a blush that I feel might help me get passed my blushing hurdles.

MAYBELLINE DREAM BOUNCY BLUSH IN PLUM WINE
$8.99, GOT ON SALE FOR $5.99

This is in fact the darkest offering in the dreamy bouncy blush line. Yes it looks intimidating, but if used sparingly and correctly and really blended into the cheek area well it looks perfectly pinched. I also find that by buffing  it with a lightly powdered kabuki it gives your cheeks a really pretty natural look without being ridiculous. This colour could definitely get out of hand in an inexperienced hand, so beware.

The other tip I find is that if you use this product first and then put your foundation over top a hint of colour comes through making it look that much more natural, this especially works well with a more sheer foundation.

MAYBELLINE COLOR TATTOO IN POMEGRANATE PUNK
$10 GOT ON SALE FOR $5.99

I don't know why I have never seen this colour till now, I think Canada tends to get shafted that way. A lot of items release in the U.S and don't arrive in Canada till long after the initial hoopla over the product is done and it's yesterdays news. I have even noticed with new release items that tend to get jumped on the minute they drop in the states never get the same reception here in Canada, and if it is I am missing that response some how.

Any way Pomegranate Punk looks very much jewel toned in the jar like garnets, but it takes on a more russet red tone when applied to the skin and there is some micro shimmer that shows up a bit in certain angles of light. I love this colour and think it will carry through the winter months beautifully.

As you can see the micro glitter is more apparent in this picture

So in conclusion I am happy to have discovered these products and hopefully the blush will work out (keeping fingers crossed).
UPDATE- I am happy to say the blush is a success I love the creamy texture and it blends out really well and the colour really is gorgeous. I highly recommend the dreamy bouncy blush line especially for those with drier skin (if you must wear blush)

  2. I used to not wear blush before too because I also think it will just make my cheek-zits more noticeable but now learning how to conceal and put foundations I have given my cheeks more attention now with pretty blushes hehehe. That blush is very intimidating and I'd be one of those that will make it look clownish hehehe...I do love that Pomegranate tho =) I might grab that Tattoo next time =)

    1. Honestly I thought "why the heck did I just buy this crazy super dark blush???", but surprisingly it is working well and you only need a tiny bit which I like because it will last a long time. So not as scary as it looks. Please girl you could not make anything look clowny. I really prefer bronzer over blush, but then again I have seen some bad over bronzing jobs too. Lol ;) thanks for reading my dear. Yes you need that Pomegranate. I love the colour tattoos they are so easy to work with and a fun versatile product.

  4. I've tried the Maybelline dream bouncy blush in 2 different shades before and I do love the softness. I have to say it's not so great for my combination skin.
