BLOGGERS MADE ME BUY IT

Good day everyone,

When I go shopping for new cosmetics is it really that I remember an ad I have seen for a product or a model that I saw wearing it??? Usually not. My first instinct when making a purchase is to stand there in the store, on my phone, reading a few blogger reviews to get a feel for what I am in for with a item. I am not saying this is always the case, sometimes I buy things I see because I just like the way they look to me at the moment. However social media and every day people are truly the strong influence in terms of buying power. I feel I would rather or rather not try something because a normal everyday person has tried it and gave an open honest opinion about it. The bottom line is as a blogger if I buy an item with my own money what have I got to lose in telling you the truth if the product sucks??? NOTHING. I  am no worse for wear except now I am out the several dollars and have no use for the product, but you the readers on the other hand have now had first hand feedback and either decide to press on and make the purchase or not. My fellow blogger Shalunya and PFF (Physicians Formula Friend) as we both like this brand ( a play on BFF) over at Shalunya & Boyet tagged me to do this and it sounds like fun. So who are some of the people that have influenced my buying habits at one time or another, take a look.

REVLON LIP BUTTERS

 Lily over at BEAUTY WITH LILY did a post show casing her Revlon lip butters and after seeing it made me truly want to go grab some more. I already had 3, but since that posting I now have a total of 9. I find when two people have similar tastes in colours and products as a whole that really helps too. It also a bonus that there has been some great sales on them around me, which also is a huge influence in my particular buying habits. I love cosmetics, but not always the prices.

For those that have been reading here for a while you would know I love Revlon lip products any way and have quite a collection of their regular lipsticks as well, so no big shocker that I love the lip butters too. So thank you Lily for doing posts that inspire us to further our love of all things pretty and colourful.

 

 

SIMPLE EYE MAKEUP REMOVER

 Shayluna herself has also influenced my recent purchase of the Simple brand eye makeup remover. Till now I have been using the Maybelline express remover, but since I was almost out I decided to give this brand a try. Shayluna is very expressive in her wording so it draws you in and makes you pay attention to the product she is speaking of, hence why I ended up purchasing this one. I will have my own review coming on this product, I am still testing it out and want to keep using it for a while to see how it stacks up to my experience with the Maybelline one.

Please do check out this next lovely lady Liz at her blog My Pretty Obsessions she has influenced not only the purchase of this particular product, but opened my eyes to products that are smaller niche brands and also reviewed a couple of items I like to drool about, but will not buy because I am too cheap lol:P No less I like to look at the pretty pictures.

 

 

Also in terms of buying new or soon to be released items I always read reviews from Musings Of A Muse. I have been following her since I began my blogging journey. She has access to so much information and release dates for products and I love her writing and think she offers up quick efficient reviews and has very good candour. She also has a quirky humorous side which I adore and it shows in her writing.

I also love catching up with Nouveau Cheap because she offers up to the minute info and lots of pics of items that are just releasing or due for release and I can wake up and know she will always have something new to share daily. Even though she is based out of the U.S it allows me the chance to see what is coming and start my hunt here in Canada earlier so I may be able to locate an item I want sooner.

 

In the world of blogging we are all strongly influenced by the regular media, such as magazines, ads, a commercial on tv, etc. However lets face it ladies when we see each other raving about something often enough its bound to generate that buzz that will make others want to give it a go as well. Companies are lucky to have such beauty junkie pushers like us working in their favour. Imagine the decline in sales over all if we all were to just stop blogging about what we love in the world of beauty????

 

I am sure there are others I could make mention of, but these are just some of my current ones

 

I have to admit it takes a lot for someone else to really wow me with an item for me to consider a recommendation. I tend to be more about reading and researching based on a lot of different variables before making a purchase. Also there are times I have read a bad review and will purposely buy the item to try it, because not everyone will have the same experience with that product. More times then not I tend to want to buy what is new and what "I" like, then establishing my own opinion first, then see what others have to say about it too. I also am not sold much on the idea of high end cosmetics because I don't believe you need to spend more to get better quality in all circumstances. A lot of times the very product that is high end is manufactured in the same place as the lower end. That's just my opinion and not intended to get anyone riled up.
