SONIA KASHUK EYESHADOW QUAD & LIPSTICK

Welcome,

On one of my trips to Target last month I decided to pick up two items from Sonia Kashuk. One is another satin luxe lip colour, which I had also purchased back in December a stunning red from the same line. This time I opted for a nude. I also picked up a monochrome eye quad 09 called "Textured Rose". Originally I was hunting for different quads from Sonia Kashuk after watching Jennifer_Wan on YouTube speak of two, but sadly at my Target I saw no such product.
Moving on lets take a look at these goodies
Sonia Kashuk satin luxe lip colour 81- BARELY NUDE

I would  say this is more of a nutmeg nude. I really like this colour. I would say it's very similar to Mac's "Touch" lipstick. So this would be a good alternative if you don't feel like paying Mac prices. Also did I mention how amazing these lipsticks smell, I feel like I want to eat it (but that would be weird, so don't do that)
I also feel these are quite moisturizing on the lips and the come equipped with SPF16

3.4g $10

Sonia Kashuk monochrome eye quad 09- TEXTURED ROSE

This quad looked very promising in the store and I do love the look of it, but here are my complaints. Take note firstly that the colour on my ring finger and pinky are literally almost the same,
one is just slightly darker and has ultra fine pink glitter in it. The highlight colour is pretty and is very shimmery, but as with any glittery highlight it feels gritty when applied or swatched. I feel the strongest colour in this quad is the shimmer shadow on my middle finger or in the first pic at bottom left. It blends well and has the best colour payoff. All the shadows except the highlight do feel nice and soft to the touch, but I am not 100% about how I feel at this time. I would like to work with it more and maybe do an update. I feel that for the price it was not what I was expecting, but you may think its amazing. However I do like the feel of the compact and do enjoy the somewhat self closing magnetic lid. I also like that there is absolutely no smell in these shadows at all.

5.2g $14

Sometimes we often grab a product not knowing what we are heading into and by trial and error either come to love or hate a product. Some people may not be in the position to spend $14 for a small quad only to be unhappy in the grand scheme of things. That is why I am thankful for the world of blogging, because it can spare some of us out of the disappointment. It is the real people and real experiences that help us make buying choices. I know I always try to read reviews prior to making a purchase, but in this particular instance I did not, and wished I had have.

HAVE ANY OF YOU TRIED SONIA KASHUK'S COSMETICS??? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS???

THANKS FOR READING HERE AT MAKEUP'ASYLUM
XOXO:)

  1. When I first saw both of your products in your preview on IG, I was (O___O) <3 <3 <3 hehe. The lipstick looks very pretty and I am happy to hear it's working out well for you love!

About the quad, I'm sorry love for the disappointment! It looks so so beautiful judging it off its appearance. The swatches you demo made my change my mind fast about it! I do see how your ring and pinky finger both look ALMOST alike. They could have at least made one a brown color? The bronze swatch looks beautiful though!

I've never tried any SK shadows or lipsticks. I have the SK foundation (summer foundation for my tan hehe) and a liquid blush. I like those two that I have from SK. I definitely do want to branch out more into the line.

I can't wait to see you working more with this palette! I enjoyed reading this very much. Thank you for sharing! Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend love! xoxo

  2. Thanks so much for reading and leaving me a comment. I like when we chat about likes and dislikes with makeup. I am glad you see that too about those two colours. However I highly recommend the lipsticks for sure:) have a wonderful weekend to. Xo

  3. The nude lipstick looks really pretty. This is the second not so great review I had read about her eye shadow quads. Thanks for the honest review Betti!

    1. Yeah I am all for the lipsticks, but won't bother with the quads again anytime soon unless they reformulate them. Thanks for reading love.

  4. I have not tried any Sonia Kashuk items...but I'm sold on that lipstick! I'm not sure if the color would work on me, but I'm interested in trying other colors!
Now the quad...I've seen some of these all over Pinterest, but here lately I've been reading some not so good reviews on them. Hmph...they are quite pricey, too bad it's not an amazing product.

    1. Yeah its funny how pricey those quads are considering how disappointing it was. However this one girl I watch on YouTube showed these different ones from SK and they were way better, but I could not find them here. Thanks for reading my dear. Have a great day:)

  5. I've only tried SK's eye makeup remover, but never her makeup products. Sucks to hear the quad isn't all that great. It looks gorgeous in the pan, especially that glitter shade.
