Hi everyone and happy humpday,
Actually tomorrow is like Friday for me, as the family is having a long weekend together to kick off March Break here HOORAY!
I am sure many of you by now have all heard or even tried some sort of Konjac sponge, as they are the hottest trend in skincare at the moment.
If you are not familiar with this product it basically is a facial cleansing sponge that is made from Konjac which is a highly renewable perennial root plant that can often be found in Asian cuisine and is a popular choice for people who prefer a Vegan diet. Konjac is mostly comprised of starch being similar to that of a potatoe. These perennial root plants grow in the warmer climates of Asian countries, the first known Konjac sponge was created in Japan.
The Konjac sponge not only clarifies, but will exfoliate the skin with repeated use. I have been using it now for almost a week and already notice a big improvement in the texture of my skin and the way in which my makeup smooths over my skin upon application. It really does exfoliate nicely and also very gently. I had a small dry patch on the center of my forehead and since using the Konjac in conjunction with my Clinique gel moisturizer it is all but gone.
So what does Ecotools say this product will offer
"Get a better clean by removing impurities and revealing smooth, refreshed skin - just add your favourite facial cleanser and water! Wash away dirt, oil and makeup and leave the skin glowing without over-drying or causing redness. Sponge is gentle enough to be used day and night!"
For best results, use sponge daily, After each use simply rinse sponge with water and lay flat to air dry. Taking care of your sponge will help it last longer. Konjac should be replaced every 1-3 months.
Overall I am very satisfied with this product and definitely will repurchase it again, heck! I may even stock up on several the next time I order. There are two different sponges available from Ecotools at this time, one is white for sensitive skin and the one I chose was the deep cleansing, which is black and has the added benefit of bamboo charcoal in it. The one thing I find is certain foundations are harder to get off with the Konjac sponge and I had to wash twice or I would see traces of makeup on my cotton round when applying my toner, so just be aware.
The other way I like to use the Konjac sponge is if I have no makeup on and have been doing a vigorous task and I sweat, I will run this over my face with cool water and it refreshes the face and cools me down.
When you get the Konjac sponge it is hard as a rock, but run it under water and within a second it turns in to the most pillowy soft thing ever and doubles in size. This has been a great addition to my skin care routine. I highly recommend you give Konjac a try, even men and children will benefit from using this 100% natural product.

Now it's made me more curious and I am thinking I may finally buy the one from Boscia to see if its any better. I think it may be bigger, but not sure if the benefits are any different.
