ANNABELLE CC INSTANT PERFECTING BASE

This week went surprisingly quick, and I am always happy when the weekend arrives especially now with the better weather making a more regular appearance.

I like several products from the Canadian cosmetic line Annabelle, so the last time I was at my local Rexall store I decided to try something new.

Annabelle offers the CC Instant Perfecting Base. It only comes in two finishes, natural and luminous. The natural finish is suppose to be suitable for all skin tones, not to be mistaken with types.

The idea with this product is to prime the skin for makeup and improve foundation wear. I chose the Natural Finish.

Here are some other highlights mentioned on the bottle

  • Lightweight
  • Non-sticky
  • controls skin colour by neutralizing redness, dull and uneven complexion
  • Corrects instantly by reducing the appearance of pores and fine lines and leaves a flawless anti-shine finish
  • Can be worn alone or under foundation, pressed or bronzing powder

Some other benefits of the perfecting base are that it is oil free, non-comedogenic, paraben-free, perfume-free, hypo-allergenic, and dermatologist tested

Made in Canada 30ml I paid $7.99, that may have been a sale I don't remember seeing a sign. However on the ANNABELLE website it is $16.95

CLOSEST PANTONE COLOUR MATCH

You can see from this picture to the previous one that the texture has improved and lines have been blurred

Initially I was excited to test out this product. It applied really smoothly, and seemed to have a nice finish that I felt would be complimentary to my foundation routine. I have now worn this maybe three times over the past two weeks since purchasing and unfortunately it is not working for me. I think it is a lovely product and will best suit normal or normal to dry skin types, but for me Miss oil slick over here I did not find it was able to keep up. A few hours of wear and I was oily and I felt that my foundation was not sitting well on my skin by that point. Again I stress this is a very nice formula if you have regular skin. The one thing I can vouch for is that it does even out the complexion nicely. I also find it did reduce the redness really well for how sheer and lightweight the formulation initially seems, yet it is creamy to the touch, but not sticky at all. The dry down on the face is really nice and almost undetectable. Also because you won't need a lot to cover your face or for some just specific areas a bottle will last a long time.

SIDENOTE- This does come in a pump bottle, so thumbs up to that

I may try it a few more times with some other products to see if anything else works because I would hate for this product to go to waste. However if all else fails I may just use it as an eyelid primer which might be a good option. I will try to update in the coming weeks.

I HOPE YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL AND DON'T FORGET TO FOLLOW MAKEUP'ASYLUM AND LEAVE ME A COMMENT IF YOU LIKE.

HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEKEND EVERYONE:)
