NEW YORK COLOR EXPERT LAST "MATTE" LIPSTICKS

Happy Monday everyone,

This past couple of weeks I have been on a total lipstick bender. It seems every time I go out I end up bringing home at least two new lippies. I realize now through the past 3 years of blogging and taking a break that lip products are totally my vice. I do love eyeshadow, but I do not wear it all the time, where as lipstick, lip crayons, lip gloss and lip balm are something I use every single day. So you can expect to see a lot of lip products from me, more then most other things. I also feel now that skin care has become my number one concern this past year. I think it's even MORE important then the makeup it self, love your skin first and the makeup second.

Any way I have been outta the loop for a bit and I spotted the New York Color expert last matte lipsticks which have been out for a while now, but are new to me. I was a fan of the original formula, so for $2 what the heck!

I only chose two colours because the selection is not big and they were the only ones that appealed to me.

On the New York Color website the description for these lipsticks is

"The perfect balance: a mix of matte and satin! These satin matte shades are perfectly wearable in the city. From day to night this lipstick will complete your look."

The claims for this lipstick are

  • Wears for up to 6 hours
  • Long lasting (I don't think this is needed if you have the above information)
  • Amplified colour
  • Velvety and glamorous finish
  • Doesn't feather or bleed

So lets see the two colours in action

449 CREAMY MAUVE
3.2G SRP. 1.99 OR SOMETIMES YOU CAN GET A DEAL 2/$3

450 PURE CORAL

I would say the amplified finish is comparable to Mac's amplified finish as I did swatch them side by side and even the consistency is quite similar, just Mac is just a little bit more opaque and creamy. Just know that there will still be a sheen to the lips as this is not a flat matte, so the lips will still look like there is some moisture there and not drying the life out of your lips.

Oddly these lipsticks smell a lot like the Rimmel Kate lipsticks F.Y.I.

Since the first round of expert last lipsticks came out, which was well over a year ago now, I am happy with this product and it's price point. Not everyone can afford a $20 Mac lipstick or even a $10 Revlon one, but everyone woman/man should have the right to own makeup if that is something that makes them happy and add a little pep to their step each day.

I would say the claims I noted above hold true. The only claim I can't vouch for is the feathering or bleeding. I did not purchase any dark colours and I tend not to have an issue with that. I truly feel it depends I the type of lips you have as well.

In closing go spend the $2 you won't be disappointed
I like it, so I think you will too;)

HAVE A GREAT DAY
