FIRST IMPRESSION KORRES RICE AND OLIVE OIL COMPACT POWDER

KORRES COMPACT POWDER

Even though I bought this before Christmas I sadly have had little time to really test it out to its full potential. These are just my initial thoughts .
I happened upon this item at Winners and felt it was worth grabbing because it was only $7. If your familiar with Korres products then you know they tend to fall under the high end spectrum of the cosmetic and skincare world.
I really think the compact was a big selling point for me its well made and very clean and modern looking. Also it just happened with the few that were there this was the perfect colour for me.

As you can see it comes with a square sponge applicator that has a white leatherette look and feel on the one side. Apparently this product is intended for normal/dry skin so we will see how this plays out on my oily skin (oops missed that memo)

This powder is velvety smooth, finely milled and is coated in a rich botanical blend that is suppose to be emollient to the skin.
Korres compact powder is dermatologist tested and free from mineral oil, propylene glycol and ethanolamine which I can't even pronounce, so should we really be putting those things on our skin any way???? probably not!
I do smell the essence of olive oil in this product, but its very mild, I just have a very sensitive nose. Also there is rice starch in it which I imagine helps to absorb some of the excess oil.

I think this product will be great as a finishing powder to complete and set your makeup. I will try to update later once I have actually used it for a while to see how it stacks up to less expensive compact powders and if Korres is worth the hype and price.

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS IF YOU OWN ANYTHING FROM KORRES???

THANKS FOR READING EVERYONE, HAVE A GREAT DAY:)

XOXO

MAYBELLINE FIT ME! PRESSED POWDER

I am giving Maybelline FITme! products another go, this time it's the pressed powder.

The FIT me! line was on sale for about $6 at Walmart so I thought I would try another item from the line.

My pick is 235-PURE BEIGE
According to Maybelline this pressed powder should match the natural tone of your skin, blend seamlessly, yet still allow your skin to breathe.

I did test it out and do a full face with this product. I first applied a face primer, I then put on the Maybelline FIT me! foundation stick (to see how it pairs with this powder). I then pressed the powder onto my skin with the included powder puff. I then quickly dusted my face with a brush to remove any excess powder.

I do feel that the foundation stick and this powder paired together make a pretty flawless combination. However I can't tell you how well it will hold up all day because I have not done that test yet (will try to follow up soon).

I feel as of right now this powder is far to light for my skin because I have a tan, but regardless it still gives a very nice even finish. It blends out any redness or imperfections really well. The powder itself has a nice silky smooth feel to it. If you use a brush on it you will notice kick back and when using the brush I noticed hard spots occurring on the surface of the powder (You can kind of see it in the picture above).

I think I will probably enjoy using this pressed powder along with the foundation stick come the fall and it will make for an ideal pairing. As some of you probably read in my post on the foundation stick I still felt my skin looked oily, so by using this pressed powder over top will really help minimize this problem. This powder is good for me because it is oil free.
If you tend to have drier skin I would avoid this powder because it will accentuate flakey skin or dry patches on the face.

Thank you once again for reading
