WELL.CA ORDER #2 ALBA PRODUCTS AND PACIFICA SOLID PERFUME ISLAND VANILLA

I really am enjoying the service and selection available through Well.ca, so if you haven't checked it out yet I highly urge you to do so, you don't know what your missing.

Any way I only have a few items to share today and the first three are from the ALBA line.
 

NATURAL ACNE'DOTE DEEP PORE WASH
So my skin is no where near perfect, but providing I do the right things with it I do keep it looking decent. So Alba has brought a new range of items called Natural ACNEdote. It is formulated with willow bark which is where Salicylic Acid is naturally derived from. It gets in there and cleans out your pores and is suppose to keep fighting breakouts after you rinse, but that claim is not working for me. I find the liquid rather runny so be careful when squeezing some out. Once you get it lathering I find its creamy and foamy and rinses really well. Your skin feels nice and clean and cool from the peppermint oil in it. However be careful as this is one of those ingredients that can trigger irritation to the skin which can also be counter intuitive to the purpose of this product.

 

So if your looking for a more natural skin care option for your problem skin then Alba is worth a shot. It is oil free, certified organic, natural fragrance and cruelty free.

HAWAIIAN COCKTAIL BODY WASH (MAI TAI)
So last time I reviewed an Alba body wash that was creamy Pina Colada and it has become a household favourite. However we always want to try other things. The Mai Tai body wash is less opaque and creamy, but still gives a great lather and the smell is intoxicating. It is quite a lot like the drink. Which for those who don't know Mai Tai in Hawaiian means "GOOD" and this body wash is just that.
I smell the lime and it also has hints of a "Shirley Temple" drink like the grenadine syrup and maraschino cherries. Its so yummy it makes you want to run in the kitchen and shake up a drink.

This body wash is good for normal to dry skin and comes in a 355ml bottle for $8.79

 

 

 

NATURAL HAWAIIAN SHAMPOO GLOSS BOSS (HONEYDEW)

Right away when you start washing your hair with this you get that intense kick of honeydew smell. It helps revive and add shine to hair that has become dull and lifeless due to residue and often salts and sulfates that are in many other brands of shampoo. Other beneficial ingredients are Awapuhi (wild ginger) and Pineapple that help restore the shine your hair is lacking .

 

I like this shampoo because it gives a nice gentle clean without being over powering.

All Alba products are organic and cruelty free and come in a delicious range of tropical scents.

Last thing today is an item by the brand PACIFICA. This is a solid perfume that can be rubbed on your pulse points and leave you smelling oh so yummy. There are about a 25 scents to choose from on Pacifica's website and 5 available through Well.ca , I opted for ISLAND VANILLA. This is a beautiful blend of fruity Tahitian vanilla melding with the warmth of bourbon vanilla for a true island experience. However I do find you have to reapply if you want the scent to last any length of time.

 

If your looking for a more natural, earth friendly fragrance make sure to check out the Pacifica line. The products offered are 100% vegan, no animal ingredients, cruelty-free, Free of parabens, phthalates, mineral or peanut oil.

In the future I will be giving the eau de toilette a try to see if the lasting power is any better.

WELL.CA ORDER AUSTRALIAN GOLD, ALBA BODY WASH, ANDALOU FACE WASH

           Today I thought I would share with you a few items I purchased from WELL.CA. If your not familiar with this company they are basically a huge online drug store with a great assortment of goodies to discover from cosmetics, baby supplies, sexual wellness, health and home and even pantry items such as teas and organic pasta, the list goes on. They are a fast growing ecommerce company in Canada and their main warehouse is located in Guelph, Ontario. You must check them out they have ton's of great products that consumers know and love and many new items that may be worth a try.

The first item I purchased is by ANDALOU NATURALS. This is a citrus Kombucha cleansing gel for active & oily skin. It is formulated with fruit stem cell science to help renew, repair and regenerate the skin. The benefits of this product is that fruit stem cells and citrus Kombucha are rich in probiotics and aminos beneficial to the skin and production of microflora.
Also included is willow bark known for clarifying and aloe that gently wash away unwanted oil and help restore a healthy moisture level to the skin.

 

This gel cleanser is light weight and totally clear with no added junk to it. It smells gently of citrus and just gives that overall clean. The one thing I did notice is the better areas of my skin look smoother and more refreshed. I wouldn't say this does an excellent job of keeping the skin clear of blemishes, but its overall a nice gentle face cleanser that won't create any further problems to the skin.

Next up is the MOISTURE LOCK TAN EXTENDER BY AUSTRALIAN GOLD

This is an after sun moisturizer that can be used on both the face and body. There is no mineral oil in this product and packs a punch of vital nutrients to keep skin soft and maintain your tan, if you are a person that tans or tans without trying due to long days in the sun. 

 

 

 

There is a sunflower seed oil, aloe vera leaf juice, olive oil, tea tree oil in this product. Sadly though the down fall to this lotion is that it does have paraben's in it and dimethicone which tends to be an irritant to some peoples skin, so beware when applying to the face as you may break out from it, if your sensitive to this ingredient.

 

The one thing I really love is the smell of Australian Gold products, it's like a beach in a bottle. So tropical and so delicious. Honestly I just like this for the purpose of using as a lotion after my shower. I find it very emollient and soaks into the skin nicely. I do however tend to tan very easily and oddly enough I find sunblock does not actually work for me. I apply it to my face prior to sun exposure and my face still tans?!?!? Don't ask me what is up with that as I don't even know. My upper body tends to be very tanned all summer long, it actually is still somewhat noticeable during the winter months.  

 

This bottle of lotion is offered in a generous 473ml/16fl oz bottle and will last quite a while.

So even if you don't tan this is just such a great smelling moisturizing product that its worth buying

 

Last item today is Alba Botanica Natural Hawaiian Cocktail Body Wash can you say tropical heaven on earth. This is absolutely bar none my favorite body wash. I surely will be repurchasing again very soon as my bottle is almost done. This is a very creamy body wash that gives amazing lather with very little product, which is a plus.

 

 

This product is blended with natural oils, and what Alba calls their "Secret Rum-lovng ingredient", I am curious to know what that means???

If you love anything that smells like you just landed in Hawaii then this is not to be missed.

 

To name some of the fine ingredients they are Kukui nut oil, coconut oil, Macadamia seed oil, Jojoba oil, Cocoa butter, Aloe Vera, Pineapple fruit extract (Which you really smell), Papaya, Mango, sugar cane and lime.

Also when you buy Alba products you will purchase with confidence in knowing that they are 100% vegetarian ingredients and certified organic. There is no Animal testing, no artificial colours, no parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl, sodium methyl.

These products are actually more pure and cost less then a lot of Bath & Body products, which I think my extreme love affair with B&B is coming to an end. THE REAL SHAVING CO. (MEN'S MONDAY)

Welcome to my second edition of Men's Monday. Today we are taking a look at a daily face scrub (profession formula) by The Real Shaving Co.

For those that don't know Real Shaving Co. are the pioneers of men's grooming having been around now for a good 60 years. There products are natural and organic and free from parabens and harsh sulfates. They will not only pamper men's skin, but are gentle on the environment.

So the purpose of the daily face scrub I am reviewing today is to remove dead dry skin and unblock pores to help give men a clearer complexion overall.

 

This scrub has a nice masculine scent and has a texture like grey clay and has a grit to it due to the walnut powder which helps to exfoliate. Just be careful as some men have very sensitive skin and any type of nut shell in exfoliates can cause microscopic abrasions to the surface of the skin which in turn will leave it red and irritated.

 

You can follow up after using this scrub, by shaving with an oil, cream, gel or even a traditional shave soap in a dish, which ever you prefer. Then make sure to round out your routine with a good balm or moisturizer that also carries a decent SPF level to keep your skin looking smooth and youthful.

 

My husband has been using this scrub now for a week and we both have seen an improvement in his skin tone and texture. He normally gets flakey skin in and around the eyebrows and a bit of redness in his cheek area, but it looks a lot better. We also have discovered his skin troubles have been attributed from drinking to much coffee. I will try to do a blog on this as well another day in case there are more men out there wondering why they are having these similar problems.

 

My husband uses this scrub in conjunction with a small silicone exfoliating pad I got for myself and one for him. They only sell pink ones at this time, but the company that makes them SPAresource should consider bring out clear or blue as well. I have a review coming up on this inexpensive genius product soon, so watch out for it if your interested.
