*************NYX REVIEW PART 1 THE LIPS********************

Hello everyone,

After receiving my order and going through it I realized this is actually going to be a 4 part review. The reviews would be far to long if I did it any other way, not that there is a ton of stuff. Its just between pictures and the writing its a lot. So today will be all about lip products.

Starting with the first lipstick which is from the matte line this is called SHOCKING PINK it goes on very smooth and is extremely pigmented so this is not for the faint of heart.

The swatch is merely one rub across the skin it actually stained the back of my hand so that shows how intense the color payoff is. The matte lipsticks are slightly larger at .15oz/4.2g then the original creamy rounds which are .14oz/4g. However the creamy rounds are only $5.99 and the matte ones are $8.99/$6.00 U.S, so a fair price increase for a bit more product and a matte finish. I do love the colour, but will have to decide with time if its worth my $9 to get more.

Speaking of creamy rounds I have to say I have heard and read very mixed reviews on these lipsticks. I for one love them, but you may hate them. I also love the extensive color range which the Canadian site offers 124 shades WOW. You can also find a lot of colors that are great dupes for more pricey lipsticks.
Actually this matte color is very similar to Mac's Candy Yum Yum and a fraction of the price.

So back to creamy rounds I purchased two very different colors in this line the first is another really bright pink more on the lines of a watermelon pink its called NARCISSUS.

I have to admit the top picture is more true to this lip color, whereas the bottom picture the lighting made it look more bubble gum pink. I feel this is a true summer lip color and look forward to wearing it paired with turquoise eye shadows or even neutrals would be fine.

Now on the other end of the color spectrum I went with a very light color which is a very goldy nude with an ever so slight peach undertone barely visible at first glance. This creamy round is called UBERCHIC it is a very nice subtle neutral shade that will be great for anytime.

As you can see from this swatch it is very pale with a nice shimmer a good accent color or maybe even used over top another color to add dimension.

As stated earlier the creamy round lipsticks are $5.99 or $4.00 U.S

I am always willing to try something once and this next product I merely bought on a whim to see if I like it as I have not really heard much about it. That is the Xtreme lip creams and the soft matte lip cream. As per Nyx packaging it claims this "It's not a lipstick, nor is it gloss, it's like nothing you've experienced before." A package can state a claim all it wants but my lips will tell me the real story I need to know. So I opted for two of the Xtreme lip creams the first color is BUTTERY NUDE I do feel the color is quite darker then the picture on the website and you will see from the swatch it almost has a brick red undertone which I am not sure how I feel about it at this point, but it has only been a day.

I just put it on now and honestly its not my favorite. I may try mixing it with other glosses to achieve a more wearable look other wise I sadly think this one may be a bust for me.

Then I also got the color NUDE PEACH FUZZ this one I was wearing this morning and I do like the color a lot better. I do find them nicely pigmented, but have a smell to them that reminds me of Play-Doh or something. Not the biggest selling point for me personally. This is truly a peachy pinky nude for sure and again is just a nice color suitable for daily use.

These lip creams do apply easily and feel nice and emollient on the lip, as for long term staying power that has yet to be discovered.

Then I got one of the soft matte lip creams to try and the color is TOKYO. Out of all the lip creams this is by far my favorite it feels like butter across your lips and is silky smooth. It has a nice smell to it similar to Mac lip Glass. One thing I would like to point out though is if you are a person that suffers from constant chap lips or just drier lips then the average person I would refrain from using this product. It will show every single bit of dry skin or deep lines in your lips if your a smoker. Also that is very unattractive to see on anyone so buyer be ware.

All the lip creams are $8.99 however the matte ones are .23oz/6.5g and there are 13 shades to choose from on the Canadian site. The Xtreme lip cream is .230z/7ml "go figure" and offers 11 shades. I do know that many of the cosmetics on the Canadian site vary a lot from the states. I am also hoping the Canadian site will be getting some of the more recent smaller eye palettes like (Love in Paris) and the butter glosses and wonder pencil.

Any way moving on lastly I purchased two of the "Jumbo Lip Pencils" in the colors PINK NUDE & HERA.
Both colors are equally attractive in their own right but again very different. The pink nude is very light pale satin pink and Hera is a very standout rich fuchsia pink with a strong metallic purple base tone.

                                                        PINK NUDE

HERA

The jumbo lip pencils glide on effortlessly and actually are larger then the lipsticks coming in at .18oz/5g and they are only $5.99 and offer 25 different colors. Well worth the money.

The thing I like best about NYX overall is they have good products at a very nice price point and all their items are cruelty free and from what I see are also hypoallergenic.

Anywho I actually just bought some matte lipsticks and still testing out but my lips are looking for moisturizing lip products right now because of the Winter chill. Besides that I am liking their butter lipsticks and megashine lip glosses!
