COVERGIRL COLORLICIOUS NUDE LIPSTICKS

Welcome back and Happy Friday,

In the past I can say I haven't owned many CoverGirl items. I do like their fresh complexion pocket powder and the classic pressed powder for sensitive skin. The only other products I have used are a couple of single pan shadows and when I was in my late teens I only used the Professional lash mascara in the blue tube.
However CoverGirl has made revisions to there lipstick line and have some really gorgeous colours to choose from. The three I have to share today are all in the nude colour group, so lets take a look.

230 CREME
Creme is my least favourite of the three, it's a little to light for my liking. It is a milky nude with peachy pink undertones. Creme actually reminds me a lot of the Stila lipstick I reviewed called Meg. If your interested in that review you can read it HERE. I guess I can mix Creme with a lip gloss, lip pencil or darker lipstick to warm it up if I really want to wear it. I will say it does apply better then the Stila brand.

235 CHAMPAGNE
Champagne is a couple shades darker then Creme and is warmer nude. Champagne leans more of a richer peachy nude with some hints of light terracotta especially when you swatch it in person.

250 SULTRY SIENNA
Sultry Sienna at first glance in the tube seems like it will be quite dark, but as you will see in the picture it's not dark at all once on the lips. I would say this is a brown mauve shade and surprisingly ended up being my favourite

The bottoms of the tubes have the actual colour in them so you know what your getting.
Each lipstick is 3.5g and will run you about $10 CAD. I always wait for them to go on sale as the staying power isn't superb. The Colorlicious formula tends to be very emollient which is great for hydrating the lips and it does not feel heavy, but you will have to reapply often.

I think the colour payoff is quite good for being a more creamy formula due to the lip loving shea butter in them, with the exception of Creme. You will have to make many passes on the lips to get the colour really opaque, unless you prefer a more sheered out shade.

You can find CoverGirl most anywhere now a days and the Colorlicious range offers up Nudes, Reds, Plums and amazing Pinks. You can select from a generous 36 different shades.

I also have 265 Romance, 323 Delicious & 397 Yummy in the old packaging. Do let me know if you would like to see swatches of those as well, lipsticks are my favourite posts to do. I have a serious lip product problem, that is the biggest part of my makeup collection.

COVERGIRL LIP PERFECTION JUMBO GLOSS BALM

Hello again,

I am trying to play catch up and get some items posted that I literally have had since before Christmas (hence why you'll notice some images have Christmas themes), so lets get on with it.

I have been trying more recently to show a little love to CoverGirl as I have not always been eager to buy their products, but thinking back on it anything I have bought other then the sizzle gloss have all been good choices for the most part.

So today lets take a closer look at two of the lip perfection gloss balms.

The first is BERRY TWIST which tends to be more fuscia berry toned, but they are a nice sheer gloss, however they can be built up for a bit more intense look.

Just an F.Y.I., I would say the caps on this product are fairly accurate to the product colour inside. I tell you this because there are no testers and the product is sealed.

The other colour I purchased is PLUM TWIST this is my favourite of the two, especially considering the season we are currently in. Plum twist is a strong sultry colour that will leave your lips kissably ready.

These apply very smooth with just the right amount of slip and absolutely no tackiness. I really actually like these gloss balms and look forward to trying some other colours in the line eventually.

I purchased these at my local Walmart each one was $7.94 but I also had coupons so I got them both for $12.

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS WHICH COLOUR YOU PREFER HERE AND IF YOU HAVE TRIED ANY OF THESE GLOSS BALMS.

THANKS FOR READING AT MAKEUP'ASYLUM

XOXO

FIXSTICK & BOMBSHELL WHO IS THE NEW TRU COVERGIRL

Hi everyone,

So lets get down to business and take a look at the new CoverGirl Tru Blend Fixstick and Bombshell Shine shadow

COVERGIRL TRU BLEND FIXSTICK- I picked the shade FAIR, I do find it isn't quite as light as some other concealers I have tried, and tends to have a ever so slight pinkish undertone. It only comes across that way when I swatch it on my inner arm, around my eyes it seems fine.

This is pretty creamy, applies and blends easily and has good slip, however I did notice some creasing. It does a good job of covering blemishes.
I am a little uncertain about it working well for people who are older and have more parched eye lid skin or deeper lines in the under eye area, maybe the emollient nature of the product will help, but seems it may settle poorly in the lines.

Another note is that I do find it has a waxy crayon type smell or that smell like stage makeup, but that really doesn't bother me

At this particular time I really don't have any real complaints about this product. I have now been using it for about 3 weeks

You get 3.5g of product for about $10 CAD

COVERGIRL BOMBSHELL SHINESHADOW
The colour I picked up from this new collection is 300 ICE QUEEN I tried the tester at the store and I had to buy this. It makes the eyes look like they have been kissed by the shimmering snow. Its such a gorgeous cream product that blends out really well and is buildable.
This product has light reflecting pigments that give your eyes a truly dazzling holiday angelic glow. You could easily add just a small dab to the tops of the cheek bones or your décolletage if your feeling sassy.

I feel that considering this product only has a shelf life of 6 months it is a lot at $9 CAD, but you do get 5.4ml of product, which the tube it self looks quite small, but it is a fair amount of product for what it is and how little you really need to use.
It does remove easily for the most part, but you may still see a small trace amount of shimmer left on the skin.

HAVE YOU BOUGHT ANY OF THE NEW COVERGIRL PRODUCTS TO TRY OUT???

So that's all I have for today, but join me again for more from Makeup'Asylum

GET YOUR "VIOLET FLARE" ON WITH COVERGIRL SMOOCHIES SIZZLE GLOSS

The new CoverGirl lipslicks smoochies sizzle gloss are available in the Capital Collection to coincide with the upcoming release of Hunger Games second movie "Catching Fire." The collection includes 12 of these glosses and several nail polishes, mascara and jumbo eye pencils. Selections will vary from store, location and country. As I have mentioned in the past I tend not to buy a lot of CoverGirl products as the line does not have a lot that appeals to my personal taste. Also most items I have tried I have been less then impressed with.

This lip gloss is very similar to that of Bath and Body works Liplicious line of glosses. At one time a couple of years back that's all I used, because I loved the sheer wash of colour and the shine. Now moving forward I have been loving high impact colour lipstick for the moment. Who knows maybe I will get back to loving gloss again, its a cycle. If you too are a makeup collector and makeup junkie then you know what I mean.

The sizzle gloss I chose was 526 VIOLET FLARE, I became curious about these due to a blogger by the name of Hope, here is her link to her blog
she has also expanded and started her own YouTube channel as well so be sure to check her out.

I think the sizzle glosses are fun. The one I picked smells and tastes like grape soda. They do add shimmer and shine to the lip, but don't last any real length of time on the lips especially if eating or drinking, which I have come to expect with most sheer glosses such as this. I find they go on smooth, but are just ever so slightly tacky if you press your lips together.

I don't imagine I would purchase any more, but it's good to have on hand for a quick hit of moisture for the lips if your regular lipstick or lip balm is not on hand.

THE GLOSS IS 13ML AND WAS $5 AT WALMART

I did also look at the nail polishes which there are some really beautiful offerings with this collection. Mind you I am on a nail polish buying hiatus at the present time. So even if I love polishes I am seeing for fall and winter I am not buying anymore. I have been thinking about selling a lot of mine or giving them away as they are not functional for my lifestyle.

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS IF YOU PICKED UP ANYTHING FROM THE COVERGIRL CAPITAL COLLECTION OR IF ANYTHING STANDS OUT TO YOU???

ENJOY;)

COVERGIRL CLEAN WHIPPED CREME REVIEW

Hi Girls & Boys,

Today on my blog I am reviewing the Covergirl "CLEAN WHIPPED CREME"

I love that this foundation is whipped and comes in a glass pot style jar. I find it easy to work with and it glides on nicely and has a bit of an almond oil scent to it.
The draw back for me personally is that I feel this is not good for any small dry patches or older people that are developing age lines. I feel it really settles into the lines of your skin making it very obvious that your wearing makeup.
It does stay on well and still looked decent after several hours of wear time, with some sweating involved. I wished this product didn't have this problem with settling in lines or around a pimple or dry spot. Other wise it could have become my new favourite. I also like how light weight it is and doesn't feel heavy on the face.

You can even notice the lines in my hand more from where I applied the foundation. The last thing you want to do is emphasis the imperfections of your skin, you want to blur them.
I feel if your a person who is younger and has generally good skin and you want to amp it up then this might be for you. I don't recommend this for aging, dry or combination skin at all. That is just my opinion, you still can try it because you might find you love it.

I will use this product here and there in emergency situations, but I don't plan on repurchasing. I am glad I only paid $3.99 as it was on sale and I had a coupon. I don't feel I am taking a huge loss in this case. I picked #305 and you get 18ml
I believe the regular price is closer to $10
