MAKE UP FOR EVER PRO SCULPTING DUO GOLDEN

Hi Everyone,

Lets get right to it!
For the past several months now there has been a big increase in the makeup world for strong contoured looks, which are seen in magazines, on runways and especially on Instagram from many self-proclaimed makeup artists. Contouring is one of the oldest makeup methods, often used especially for film when everything was black and white and contouring made features more apparent. However my memories of contouring came from the incredible makeup artistry of Kevyn Aucoin. He was and always will be the master of transformation in the world of makeup and a true legend of his craft. The book Making Faces blew my mind the first time I leafed through its pages 16 years ago, as it was techniques I had never seen before. It made me realize what a profound tool makeup can truly be, including the art of face sculpting and dark and light.

Now Make Up For Ever wants to help you master this technique with their new offering the Pro Sculpting Duo. This duo will naturally accent the face, while offering up an undetectable contour. This contour duo is a gel to powder formulation with no talc. It blends beautifully and with ease which is especially good for those who are new to contouring. It feels very light weight on the skin and gives the skin a healthy glow.

There are two offerings one is light with cool undertones and tan with warm undertones. The sculpting duo has spherical powders and polymers to smooth out the skin to make it look flawless and leaving a silky finish behind. Synthetic Mica is known for its light reflecting qualities which is what will give you that radiant effect. Micronized Pigments of pure colour create a more naturally defined appearance.

PRO SCULPTING DUO #2 GOLDEN

The golden duo I received is beautiful, but intended for darker skin tones. As of right now because it's been a nasty harsh winter and my skin is the shade of a marshmallow the contour shade leans mildly orange on me, but I know come the summer when my skin darkens up this will be fantastic, not just for contouring, but for bronzing as well. The highlight shade in this duo has been called the dupe for Heat Wave by Estee Lauder. I have not seen Heat Wave in person, but from pictures Heat Wave seems a bit brighter and whiter and this highlight as its name sake is more golden.

Normal light

Direct Natural sunlight

This duo was easy to work with and I like that the two products are together in one compact and your not fishing around for each item and it's more travel friendly. The sculpting duo is easy to blend out with no harsh lines left behind and the highlight is stunning. If you love a strong highlight this duo is for you, leaving your skin with a creamy ethereal finish.

THE SCULPTING DUO IS AVAILABLE NOW AT SEPHORA, SEPHORA.CA, AND MAKE UP FOR EVER BOUTIQUES.

RIMMEL WAKE ME UP SHIMMER TOUCH

Intro- I am singing "The moment I wake up, before I put on my makeup, I use a little shimmer touch". Kidding aside I am late to the party with this product and I am not sure if its being discontinued or not, but its just such a pretty product that I had to share.

Rimmel Wake Me Up shimmer touch in 04 SHIMMERING SAND Is a gorgeous lightweight, easy blending product that is perfect for highlighting all your prettiest features. It will compliment your cheek bone, brow bone, cupids bow and even work out as a nice gentle hit of shimmer on the eye lids, great for the mornings when your in a hurry, but want a little more of a brightened appearance.

To me this Rimmel product is really good and imparts the perfect sandy glow to the skin without being overpowering and made up. The shimmer is extremely fine and just right, especially if your looking to highlight paler skin.

You get 14ml and is normally $7, but I got mine on a clear out for $1.50 which leads me to believe it is being discontinued or maybe reformulated, which I hope not because there is nothing wrong with it. However I do find that the release of the Rimmel "Wake Me Up" collection got a colder reception then other product releases and much of those items sat untouched at my local Walmart till they went on clearance. Its a shame as it seemed promising.

I give this product a 5/5

DO YOU USE ANYTHING FROM THE "WAKE ME UP" LINE???

THANKS FOR READING AND HAVE A GREAT DAY XOXO:)

The Beauty Crown Awards were created by Lily from Beauty with Lily Liz from My Pretty Obsessions, Jackie from Five Two Certified, and Shalunya from Shalunya & Boyet. We felt that a collaborative effort from a large number of beauty bloggers would be much more interesting to our readers and would garner more attention. The Beauty Crown Awards are a 5 week event with each week covering types of products.

Week 2 - Facial Products - Dec 9 - Dec 15, 2013
Week 3 - Lip & Nail Products - Dec 16 - Dec 22, 2013
Week 4 - Eye & Misc Products - Dec 23 - Dec 29, 2013
Week 5 - Facial Care Products & Tools - Dec 30 - Jan 4, 2014

So lets go a head and take a look at my week two favorites for "FACIAL MAKEUP PRODUCTS", hope you too will try something I recommend and don't forget to follow Makeup'Asylum's blog and find me on Twitter @BonCoconutty and on Instagram at NEWMAKEUPASYLUM.

PHYSICIANS FORMULA SUPER BB CREAM IN LIGHT/MEDIUM
This bb cream matches my skin perfectly and wears excellent all day long and does not irritate my skin at all and provides adequate coverage for redness, scaring and any small spots.

ANNA SUI MOISTURE RICH FLUID FOUNDATION P05
This foundation gives a beautiful dewy finish to the skin and makes for quite a flawless finish. I wasn't sure this would be good for my oily skin, but it has worked out well, especially in the dry cold weather. The only thing I am not a fan of is the "ROSE" scent, but I can deal with it.

MISSHA M SIGNATURE REAL COMPLETE BLENDING PRIMER
I only have two face primers and this would be my first choice out of the two. It is very light weight and your skin really drinks it up and leaves a smooth velvety surface prior to foundation application. It has an iridescent finish that makes the skin more luminous. It is quite fragrant, but the smell is decent.

NYC SMOOTH SKIN LIQUID CONCEALER
This concealer is creamy without being to thick and is totally inexpensive which is a plus. It is very light and does a decent job around the eyes, I wouldn't advise this for those with very dark circles as it only mildly covers it. I find this concealer better for smoothing the eyelid skin and spot treatment for red pimples.

PHYSICIANS FORMULA MINERAL WEAR TALC-FREE AIRBRUSHING PRESSED POWDER SPF 30 IN BEIGE
I use this pressed powder every day as part of my daily routine, sometimes I even apply this without anything else and call it a day. Its very good for absorbing oil and giving a very flawless finish hence being called "airbrushing". I have other pressed powders as back ups, but this is my fave hands down

PHYSICIANS FORMULA MINERAL GLOW PEARLS IN TRANSLUCENT PEARL
I have been on the hunt for a nice highlighter and decided to give this one a try since everything else from PF has never let me down. I am glad I did get this, again I use it every day and it just gives the most perfect subtle glow on the tops of the cheek bone without your skin starting to look plastic.
I also like that all PF compacts come with a mirror and small brush in a separate compartment underneath the product itself. I highly recommend trying something from PF I don't believe you will be disappointed, especially if you have very sensitive skin like I do.

PHYSICIANS FORMULA BRONZE BOOSTER AIRBRUSHING BRONZING VEIL DELUXE EDITION IN MEDIUM/DARK
I would think at this point in the season of winter I would not still be using this, but its the best bronzer that I can use year round. As long as I use it sparingly I can just give my skin a nice bit of a Sunkist glow like I have been out on the ski slopes. Love the finish, does not make the skin to crazy with shimmer

I also wanted to share my fave bronzer I use only in the summer when my skin is darker which is

COVERGIRL TRUBLEND MINERAL BRONZER IN 435 GOLDEN SUNRISE
This is a loose mineral bronzer, that has to be used with a gentle hand. However it is very rich and deep like you have been laid out at the beach for hours, just beware it does have micro fine glitter and if used to much can be quite noticeable. Blends into the skin really nicely. Also if you sweat I have not noticed any issues with streaking which can occur with fake tan or bronzer products.

MAYBELLINE DREAM BOUNCY BLUSH IN 50 PLUM WINE
I am generally not much of a blush wearer as you will learn in an upcoming post on my blog, but I think I have found one I am finally happy with. I really like this concept of a cream to powder type product for blush. I feel this applies well, a little goes along way and gives a gorgeous natural flushed finish. This is one of the darkest shade offerings so you don't have to go bonkers with it. This product will be especially good for those who want to wear blush, but tend to have dry cheek patches because it has a creamy consistency as appose to powder adhering to dry spots on the cheeks.

As you can see my main love affair for face makeup products is Physicians Formula and I can not say enough good things about their products. I am so looking forward to a dozen new items due for release in 2014.

HOPE YOU ALL ENJOYED MY CHOICES AND COME BACK SOON FOR MORE FROM MAKEUP'ASYLUM

REINTRODUCING REVLON PHOTOREADY SKINLIGHTS

A QUICK NOTE: TOMORROW I LEAVE TO GO ON VACATION FOR A WEEK SO THERE WILL BE NO POSTNGS TILL I GET BACK. SO PLEASE STAY TUNED.

BOTH PRODUCTS REVIEWED TODAY WERE GIFTED TO ME

I clearly am getting older as I remember the very first time that Revlon SkinLights were available back in 2001 and it came in a tube similar to that of the Missha M perfect bb cream with a pump.

I found back then I was younger my skin was awful and skinlights was a poor choice for problematic skin.

Flash forward some 12+ years later and my skin can sometimes still be temperamental but not like teen or young adult skin.

So now Revlon has reintroduced the collection as part of their Photoready line.

The two shades I received are 200 PINK LIGHT and 100 BARE LIGHT

200 PINK LIGHT
This shade tends to lean towards more of that cool pearlescent finish and great for highlighting the cheek bone area or the top of the brow bone or cupids bow.

This is a good choice for fair skin and can be used alone or under your makeup for that ethereal glow

100 BARE LIGHT
Again this is the same product no difference except this is a warmer tone that works well on deeper skin tones or a person with a tan like myself. This shade is the perfect match to my skin tone at the present time. As we head in to the fall and winter I will probably use the "Pink Light" more.

I really love this shade because it gives a more natural golden glow once blended out.
So if your a fan of the luminous look then get a tube of Revlon Photoready Skinlights.

I believe there are 4 different shades to choose from. I am not sure if these are limited edition or if they will remain a part of the photoready line permanently.

Each tube is 30ml and runs about $16 CAD

The skinlights are not actually showing on the Canadian Revlon website, but there are a lot of stores online that carry this product or if your in Canada head to your local Walmart or SHOPPERS DRUG MART to get this product.

Thanks for reading here at Makeup'Asylum

STAY BEAUTIFUL
