PHYSICIANS FORMULA SUPER BB CREAM IN LIGHT/MEDIUM

This bb cream matches my skin perfectly and wears excellent all day long and does not irritate my skin at all and provides adequate coverage for redness, scaring and any small spots.

 

 

ANNA SUI MOISTURE RICH FLUID FOUNDATION P05

This foundation gives a beautiful dewy finish to the skin and makes for quite a flawless finish. I wasn't sure this would be good for my oily skin, but it has worked out well, especially in the dry cold weather. The only thing I am not a fan of is the "ROSE" scent, but I can deal with it.

 

 

MISSHA M SIGNATURE REAL COMPLETE BLENDING PRIMER

I only have two face primers and this would be my first choice out of the two. It is very light weight and your skin really drinks it up and leaves a smooth velvety surface prior to foundation application. It has an iridescent finish that makes the skin more luminous. It is quite fragrant, but the smell is decent.

 

 

NYC SMOOTH SKIN LIQUID CONCEALER

This concealer is creamy without being to thick and is totally inexpensive which is a plus. It is very light and does a decent job around the eyes, I wouldn't advise this for those with very dark circles as it only mildly covers it. I find this concealer better for smoothing the eyelid skin and spot treatment for red pimples.

 

 

PHYSICIANS FORMULA MINERAL WEAR TALC-FREE AIRBRUSHING PRESSED POWDER SPF 30 IN BEIGE

I use this pressed powder every day as part of my daily routine, sometimes I even apply this without anything else and call it a day. Its very good for absorbing oil and giving a very flawless finish hence being called "airbrushing". I have other pressed powders as back ups, but this is my fave hands down

 

 

 

PHYSICIANS FORMULA MINERAL GLOW PEARLS IN TRANSLUCENT PEARL

I have been on the hunt for a nice highlighter and decided to give this one a try since everything else from PF has never let me down. I am glad I did get this, again I use it every day and it just gives the most perfect subtle glow on the tops of the cheek bone without your skin starting to look plastic.

I also like that all PF compacts come with a mirror and small brush in a separate compartment underneath the product itself. I highly recommend trying something from PF I don't believe you will be disappointed, especially if you have very sensitive skin like I do.

 

 

 

PHYSICIANS FORMULA BRONZE BOOSTER AIRBRUSHING BRONZING VEIL DELUXE EDITION IN MEDIUM/DARK

I would think at this point in the season of winter I would not still be using this, but its the best bronzer that I can use year round. As long as I use it sparingly I can just give my skin a nice bit of a Sunkist glow like I have been out on the ski slopes. Love the finish, does not make the skin to crazy with shimmer

 

 

I also wanted to share my fave bronzer I use only in the summer when my skin is darker which is

 

COVERGIRL TRUBLEND MINERAL BRONZER IN 435 GOLDEN SUNRISE

This is a loose mineral bronzer, that has to be used with a gentle hand. However it is very rich and deep like you have been laid out at the beach for hours, just beware it does have micro fine glitter and if used to much can be quite noticeable. Blends into the skin really nicely. Also if you sweat I have not noticed any issues with streaking which can occur with fake tan or bronzer products.

 

 

LAST up

 

MAYBELLINE DREAM BOUNCY BLUSH IN 50 PLUM WINE

I am generally not much of a blush wearer as you will learn in an upcoming post on my blog, but I think I have found one I am finally happy with. I really like this concept of a cream to powder type product for blush. I feel this applies well, a little goes along way and gives a gorgeous natural flushed finish. This is one of the darkest shade offerings so you don't have to go bonkers with it. This product will be especially good for those who want to wear blush, but tend to have dry cheek patches because it has a creamy consistency as appose to powder adhering to dry spots on the cheeks.

 

 

As you can see my main love affair for face makeup products is Physicians Formula and I can not say enough good things about their products. I am so looking forward to a dozen new items due for release in 2014.

Then you know that I am talking about joining along in the "No Buy November". Shalunya is essentially the one who got this clever ball rolling and I am happy to be apart of this. I also believe that Neya over at http://www.neyavbeautytalk.com/ is taking part in the challenge as well.

So as mentioned by Shalunya this month long "No Buy" will allow all of us who are taking part to get in touch with some of our rather neglected makeup items in our stash, that all deserve some attention. Also give to others and worrying less about material items, which I am perfectly satisfied in doing. The 4 weeks have been broken up in to specific areas of interest. So with that this post will focus specifically on "The Face". Oddly enough I am already ahead of the game because I noticed now that the colder weather has arrived I was already starting to reach for some items that have been on the back burner and now are finally getting some love again. I find I have been really into some of my Korean cosmetics as of late, so lets take a look.

I have been reaching for my MISSHA M PERFECT COVER BB CREAM partnered with the MISSHA M SIGNATURE REAL COMPLETE BLENDING PRIMER both products are amazing. The bb cream is a true Asian bb cream, so it totally lives up to it's promises and if you know anything about the Missha brand that speaks for it self. I bought these items way back in March and I did use it a ton in the beginning, but when you own and buy a lot of makeup it quickly gets lost in the pile.

 

The bb cream I use from Missha is No.23 natural beige

Missha M Perfcet BB cream is $24.50 in CAD and the Primer was a free gift

(Just beware that Missha products do tend to have a strong scent, but it did not irritate my super sensitive skin which was a surprise and it dissipates as you wear it) 

 

 

Then to set my bb cream I do a light pressing of this luxurious finely milled powder from Holika Holika called BABY BLOOM. This powder creates a transparent foggy veil over the skin to make you look luminous and bright. The product is created with a "Sebum Capture Network" that maintains your makeup all day. I have to admit I was very skeptical about buying this powder because that's a lot to promise and it has a slight scent to it that I was worried would bother my skin and its expensive as well. However it does have an excellent SPF of 25 to protect your skin in any season.

 

You get 25g for $26

 

 

Even the container is a beautiful item to have on your vanity and comes with a very well made puff that shows signs of quality, there is also a sifter which I took off to photograph the powder. 

 

 

Last up is not a Korean item, but a familiar item to those makeup junkies out there and that is NYX single pan blush in the colour 25 PINCHED

I generally am not a fan of blush all the time, but when the right colour comes a long it is truly a love affair. Pinched has often been compared as being a very good dupe to NARS Orgasm. I have looked at pictures of the two products side by side and they are extremely close. I find what makes this blush so appealing is that sensual golden undertone it leaves behind on the skin.

 

 

 

 I feel this is the type of blush that is suitable for just about anyone and I imagine the gold sheen would look amazing on girls of colour as it would emphasis the cheek bone and the colour it self if built up will be super sassy. This is a very versatile blush that makes for an amazing eyeshadow as well.

 

So I am glad to have shopped my stash and rediscovered my hidden gems and hope you all enjoyed seeing them as well.

MY FAVORITE PRODUCTS THAT I USE DAILY

HI EVERYONE,

Today I thought I would share with you all, some of my favourite staple items that I reach for almost everyday. The only time I use other products is if I am doing eye looks for pictures, photographing products for blogs or going somewhere that requires a certain day or night look.

 

 

PHYSICIANS FORMULA SUPER BB- This is the very first thing I put on my face after washing it in the morning. It is in the colour Light/Medium and gives my face a dewy flawless finish without making my face look like a mask. 35ml is $22

 

 

 

ESSENCE STAY ALL DAY 16HR CONCEALER- By far the best concealer I have personally used, but I have not used any high end so I may be limiting myself. However for the price you can't beat the coverage, lasting power and it has a nice cream consistency that is not to thick. 7ml for $4

 

 

 

MAYBELLINE FIT ME BLUSH "MEDIUM CORAL"- This blush has become my fave as I am not normal a fan of blush entirely so this has worked out well. I still love my PF happy booster blush just as much I tend to go back and forth between the two. This gives just a perfect kiss of colour without looking like an old crazy cat lady with to much rouge on her cheeks. I got this on recommendation from Ms. Jennifer Wan who does YouTube and a blog spot

It has very similar colour payoff to Nars "Orgasm" if your looking for an affordable dupe.

ANNABELLE EYESHADOW QUAD IN "CHAI CHAI CHAI"- I love this quad because it's great for everyday use and it's a grab and go kind of item for busy mom's like me. The colours have excellent pigmentation and are silky smooth to apply. Simple and beautiful. I think Annabelle did an amazing job with this series of quads. 7.2g/$11

 

 

 

PHYSICIANS FORMULA MINERAL WEAR TALC-FREE AIRBRUSHING PRESSED POWDER- Despite the name being far to long I love this powder. It really does finish off your look nicely, with a smooth flawless canvas. Its a breeze to use with a puff or brush. It last several hours and may only need a touch up in the t-zone. If you suffer from hyperpigmentation or rosacea this is great for covering that as well, along with the "Super BB." Also all of PF products are non irritating and fragrance free.:)

 

 

 

MAYBELLINE LASH STILETTO MASCARA WATERPROOF BLACKEST BLACK- I still love the Rocket mascara, but this Stiletto mascara has stolen my heart I love the sexy black & red tube, but the product is beautiful and gives my lashes the look I want which is define, a little length and good separation. I love the brush on this mascara as well. Also because it's waterproof it does not budge at all the whole time I wear it, but washes off fairly easy.

 

 

 

PHYSICIANS FORMULA SHIMMER STRIPS EYELINER IN BRONZE BROWN-

This is a favourite because it's not quite black, but dark and rich enough to still give the eye definition. Its so easy to apply because it glides on effortlessly without any noticeable drag. I can get into my lashes and do a phenomenal tight line with this pencil. Also incredibly long wearing. The other plus is that it's mechanical, no sharpening required. You get 3 to a pack for $12 (I think)

 

 

 

and last

 

REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK (MATTE) SMOKED PEACH- I have lots of lipsticks and gloss, but I always come back to my tried and true. I love everything about Smoked Peach and its wearable in my eyes year round. If you have not tried this colour you really need to. I also think it would be complimentary to so many skin tones. It wears for several hours, fades out evenly and is creamy even though its matte and doesn't dry out my lips like other matte formulas.

ORGANIC WEAR JUMBO LASH MASCARA
 (SRP. $12) 7.5g ULTRA BLACK
 I really like most everything about this mascara. The wand is nice and sturdy and the brush is super thick and the soft plastic bristles give you nicely separated voluminous lashes. You get just the right deposit of colour without it looking goopy and overloaded. The only downside is it does smudge if you sweat a lot (WHCH I DO) due in part to the fact it is not waterproof and probably because it's not loaded with harsh chemicals that make most mascara's stay on for a long time. To me it's not really a big deal, but you should know that if your planning on purchasing.

I love the tube itself it's such a great unique style and true to the natural ingredients that Physicians Formula offers. I have been using this for about 3 weeks now and I would definitely repurchase it because it does not irritate my eyes and gives a nice natural pretty look to the lashes.

This mascara is 100% NATURAL and the entire tube is 100% recyclable

Only two colours are offered Black & Ultra Black


SHIMMER STRIPS EYE ENHANCING EYELINER TRIO
(SRP. $14) WARM NUDES

I want to start by saying that I forgot how much I  love to use a mechanical eyeliner that is self sharpening. You can get in so close to the lash line and get such a great accurate line without mess or fuss.
The set comes with three pencils, which is so great as you can create ample looks and will be well stocked for eye liner for a while. The custom colours in this particular set are COPPER, BRONZE AND BLACK. The black has a bit of sparkle to amp up your eye look and really illuminate them. The bronze is really nice if you want a deeper tone for your liner, but not as dramatic as black. The copper looks really nice on the water line and makes the eyes stand out and sparkle.

SUPER BB CREAM
(SRP. $20) 35ml LIGHT/MEDIUM

I would say this bb cream is the closest in terms of meeting the standard with Asian bb creams and I am a real fan of it. I like the way it goes on, blends out and works well on my oily skin.

(SRP. $16) 7.5G BEIGE

This ultra fine pressed powder has now been my go to powder. I really like the finish it imparts on my skin. As the last step after applying the bb cream it leaves the skin looking silky and flawless. It has very good coverage for a powder and will last up to 16 hours, mind you I never wear it that long. I only wear makeup when I go out, other wise I remove it has soon as I am home again to allow my face to breath naturally.

If you are sensitive to a lot of products and tend to break out I recommend this for you as it is non-comedogenic, fragrance free, hypoallergenic, paraben free and dermatologist approved. Again this product gives you sun protection as well with SPF 30.

The other shade options are

translucent, creamy natural and natural beige.

SEXY BOOSTER, SEXY GLOW BLUSH

(SRP. $14) ROSE

Have you ever heard of a pheromone boosting blush, that sends out a seductive scent??? Yeah! nither did I till now. However that is what Physicians Formula is offering with this product.

The blushes I have tried by PF are really beautiful. I normally am not a huge fan of blush, but these ones are quickly changing all that.

This rose toned blush offers luminous sexy from within look with just the right touch of shimmer. Sexy glow blush builds easily and blends to a lovely finish.

The packaging for this blush is excellent, completely reads sexy with the embossed print of a stiletto high heel in the powder it self. The compact opens with the look of a leather bound book and is draped in material which looks like sexy fish net stockings over sensual red satin. There is also a small black bow with a silver high heel charm. The back opens as well which has a mirror and holds a small brush.

So what makes this blush so sexy
Androstadienone - It's odd that Androstadienone is in this as normally its predominant in men's cologne, but is noted for creating sexual attraction.
Muricine Aglycone - This ingredient is a non-pheromone organic molecule found in sea coral and has been proven to increase excitement and arousal in men and woman.
Cocoa extract- which has PEA in it in slang known as the "Love Chemical" also induces feelings of attraction and euphoria.
Horny Goatweed - This has been around a long time and was part of ancient Chinese medicine. It is said to restore sexual fire and is very much an aphrodisiac.

HAPPY BOOSTER GLOW & MOOD BOOSTING BLUSH
(SRP $14) NATURAL

This is by far one of the cutest blushes I have seen embossed with various sized hearts all of which have different shades that blend seamlessly together to create the most beautiful glowing blush without being crazy in colour. I have used this most days since I purchased it and it's the perfect blush for me as I don't want crazy bold rouge across my cheeks. I want something that highlights just right with a gentle colour. This to has plant extracts that help promote feelings of happiness. That area is a little grey for me as I can't say I notice a difference, but I am happy to put on this blush each day, so it's all good.

Just beware this does have a very subtle scent of violets so if you don't like floral scented items this might not be for you. Mind you it is very light I don't even notice it when it's on only if you smell the compact.

And last but not least is the

PH MATCHMAKER PH POWERED LIP GLOSS
(SRP. $10) LIGHT PINK

This gloss is the first of it's kind to work with your bodies natural ph level and reacts to the light. Within 60 seconds you will have the perfect shade of gloss with a long lasting finish of up to 10 hours. PH MatchMaker lip gloss is fairly smooth, has very fine sparkle with just a touch of tackiness.

The sleek hot pink tube is sure to be a hit with most of us girls out there, but it gets better. Find yourself in the dark of the car, out at a club with dim lights, trying to get makeup on in the bedroom where a loved one is sleeping?
