SONIA KASHUK EYESHADOW QUAD & LIPSTICK

Welcome,

On one of my trips to Target last month I decided to pick up two items from Sonia Kashuk. One is another satin luxe lip colour, which I had also purchased back in December a stunning red from the same line. This time I opted for a nude. I also picked up a monochrome eye quad 09 called "Textured Rose". Originally I was hunting for different quads from Sonia Kashuk after watching Jennifer_Wan on YouTube speak of two, but sadly at my Target I saw no such product.
Moving on lets take a look at these goodies
Sonia Kashuk satin luxe lip colour 81- BARELY NUDE

I would  say this is more of a nutmeg nude. I really like this colour. I would say it's very similar to Mac's "Touch" lipstick. So this would be a good alternative if you don't feel like paying Mac prices. Also did I mention how amazing these lipsticks smell, I feel like I want to eat it (but that would be weird, so don't do that)
I also feel these are quite moisturizing on the lips and the come equipped with SPF16

3.4g $10

Sonia Kashuk monochrome eye quad 09- TEXTURED ROSE

This quad looked very promising in the store and I do love the look of it, but here are my complaints. Take note firstly that the colour on my ring finger and pinky are literally almost the same,
one is just slightly darker and has ultra fine pink glitter in it. The highlight colour is pretty and is very shimmery, but as with any glittery highlight it feels gritty when applied or swatched. I feel the strongest colour in this quad is the shimmer shadow on my middle finger or in the first pic at bottom left. It blends well and has the best colour payoff. All the shadows except the highlight do feel nice and soft to the touch, but I am not 100% about how I feel at this time. I would like to work with it more and maybe do an update. I feel that for the price it was not what I was expecting, but you may think its amazing. However I do like the feel of the compact and do enjoy the somewhat self closing magnetic lid. I also like that there is absolutely no smell in these shadows at all.

5.2g $14

Sometimes we often grab a product not knowing what we are heading into and by trial and error either come to love or hate a product. Some people may not be in the position to spend $14 for a small quad only to be unhappy in the grand scheme of things. That is why I am thankful for the world of blogging, because it can spare some of us out of the disappointment. It is the real people and real experiences that help us make buying choices. I know I always try to read reviews prior to making a purchase, but in this particular instance I did not, and wished I had have.

HAVE ANY OF YOU TRIED SONIA KASHUK'S COSMETICS??? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS???

"STUDS AND SKULLS" QUO'S LIMITED EDITION HALLOWEEN QUAD & GLOSS

Hi everyone,

Today I wanted to share with you the limited edition Halloween/fall quad from QUO. The collection is called "STUDS & SKULLS". It offers up 4x 2.8g eye shadows and one lip gloss that is 3.8g.
There are two different quads to choose from, one which is a purple and plum toned collection and the other which I opted for is a neutral brown quad. The quad comes with two matte shades and two that have a slight shimmer nothing to crazy. I feel this is appropriate for all ages and has no restrictions due to crazy colours or finishes.
The highlight of this quad is the super rock on packaging that obviously I just can't get enough of, have a look.

I find the quality of the shadows ok, this brings me back to Quo being some what hit or miss with a lot of their products, that's why I don't buy that line often. However being neutral colours I am not to concerned and the lip gloss is pretty but does not last on the lip long and is a bit tacky feeling.

The swatches are not fabulous, but here they are!

I do love the colours in the package they look very appealing. I am wearing this on my eyes today which is Oct.21. I think it does a nice job for everyday wear. I do find they blend out decently and wear quite a while on the eye without moving, especially with a good primer. However when brushing across the product it is quite dusty. I feel quality wise it doesn't fit the price which was $20

If nothing else I love the tin and will use it long after the shadows are gone, but I wish Quo would be more consistent with their product line, especially the limited edition products they bring out.

Quo is sold exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart

LET ME KNOW IF YOU LIVE IN CANADA AND HAVE PICKED UP ANYTHING FROM THE STUDS & SKULLS COLLECTION AND IF YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT???

THANKS FOR READING

STAY BEAUTIFUL XO

MAC BARE MY SOUL SHADOW QUAD DUPE FOR LESS

HI EVERYONE,

So for a lot people all over the time is closely approaching when many will make a mad dash to Mac Cosmetic counters every where for the 2013 Summer Collection release.
However for those who are on a tighter budget that may not be the case and so for some it ultimately means having to do some research for a comparable product that will meet the demand of the hottest shades for the season.

So as I myself had been contemplating taking the dive and going to purchase a couple of pieces from this collection it dawned on me! Why would I drop $52 Cad for a eye shadow quad when I know I have seen these colours before. So after reading up on the Mac quad and looking at others swatch photo's online it occurred to me. I dashed to my makeup drawer and after doing some swatches myself here we have it my dupes for Mac's "Bare My Soul" quad.

Wet N Wild palette

So obviously its not exact but the differences are quite miner from the Mac quad. For a very good comparison you can head on over to Vampy Varnish to see the swatch photo's for the "Bare My Soul" quad I am referring to.
http://www.vampyvarnish.com/2013/05/mac-temperature-rising-summer-2013-swatches-review?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=mac-temperature-rising-summer-2013-swatches-review

So the palette I am showing here is actually a very simple WET N WILD palette called COMFORT ZONE that I purchased a couple of months back at my local Walmart for $4.69 WOW huge price cut from MAC's $52. You may still find the Wet N Wild palette at certain locations and it is still available at the Wet N Wild website http://wnwbeauty.com/product.phpcid=15&pid=912&subid=25

I wanted to add I just wore some of these colours today. If you use the NYX jumbo eye pencil in MILK which is only $5.99 as a primer on your eye it works amazing. The colour payoff of all your eye shadows will be 10x better using this method. Think of it as putting Gesso on a raw canvas to prepare it before painting, It works wonders. Also these Wet N Wild palettes are truly awesome for the price and the color payoff is top notch. This shadow did not budge at all today and I wore it from 7:30 a.m. till 7p.m.
So before you jump the gun and drop at boat load on this Mac quad seriously consider cheaper options, your wallet will thank you.
With how much you'll have saved you can purchase some other goodies like a bright colored cross body bag from Danier for around the same price or a new pair of shoes. Also you can add it to your fund for your next big cosmetic shopping spree.

You can look good for less I promise.
