MAYBELLINE COLOR TATTOO BLACK ORCHID

Hi everyone and T.G.I.F.

I have always loved the Maybelline color tattoo's since the start, with such fave's as barely branded and inked in pink.
At one point I did have about 15, but one dried out and I gave three away, now that I have recently added the limited edition Black Orchid I am sitting at 12.
The only draw back with color tattoo's is that sooner or later they will dry out. I like the creamy formulation and this time around it seems better then ever. I find in the past, some colours in the leathers line or tenacious teal and fierce n tangy did tend to drag upon application and could seem patchy and dry. However Black Orchid applies like a dreamy whip and blends out fabulous.
Also I find Maybelline really has hit the mark with the colour stories they have dreamed up for past and present limited edition Color Tattoo's and I always look forward to seeing what is next.
I definitely suggest picking up Black Orchid, especially if your new to Color Tattoo's, it won't disappoint and it's a great colour to start out with. In the light it looks gold with a gentle pink undertone and then miraculously transformers in dimmer light to a more metallic plum/purple finish with micro silver flecks.

PAUL & JOE BEAUTE SPRING COLLECTION 2014

Last year around this same time i had the opportunity to review a few items from the Paul & Joe Summer cosmetic line which you can read here

This year i have the opportunity again, but this time around it is the Spring collection. The items i will be sharing today are two nailpolishes, lipstick and an eyeshadow trio.

So here are some details about the Spring limited edition nail enamels

Feel the embrace of spring on your fingertips with these limited edition polishes from Paul & Joe Beaute, The vivid floral colors of springtimeare now within reach in 5 gorgeous new shades for the brisk beautiful days ahead. These layerable, luminous colours allow you to mix and match hues of two soft pinks, delicate blue, sunny yellow and vermillion red to mimic the season's best and brightest blooms.

Ingredients
Chamomile extract-moisturizer
Japanese Pearl Oyster- Moisturizing
Jojoba oil- Emollient
Orange Flower Water- Moisturizer
White Lily Extract- Moisturizer, rough skin softner

The shades available are

Lily- a purifying white pink
Hyacinth- a clear blue provides a calming escape
Carnation- A sheer vermillion red that says nothing but love

The two colour's i received are

Petunia- A light touch of peaceful pink

This is a sheer pink liquid base with gold and bronze shimmer with an unusual iridescent shimmer dust in it and square multi-dimensional confetti glitter. It is a very pretty top coat, or as you can see can easily be worn alone just for a touch of sparkle on the nails. Removes very easily which is nice.

Buttercup- A cheerful sun yellow to brighten up your days

At first i was not sure that i liked this colour, but it has grown on me and i especially love the formulation. It applies beautifully with no streaking and has a very interesting texture like that of gel polish. It reminds me of coloured transparencies that are used in photography. I think this will be a wonderful accessory all summer long. What do you think???

The  nail polish is 10ml for $16

Next up is the lipstick

The lipstick CS collection comes in three spring ready shades and have customizeable limited edition cases. I did not receive one for my lipstick, I have to admit I was disappointed as I now have a lipstick that has no case and has to be kept in its box and will probably dry out quicker as a result.

Any way the colour's are

Poppy- A cheerful fresh orange gives you the bouncy step of a beautiful Poppy flower

Peony- An exciting baby pink is perfect for lips that want to make a statement (would have loved this one)

and the one i got is

Rosebud- A sheer red suggests secret passion and ignites the fire of Spring's life
Take a look

All Paul & Joe lipsticks are formulated with the following lip loving benefits

Brown rice germ oil- emollient
Jojoba Oil- emollient
Lavender oil- emollient
Orange flower water- moisturizer
White lily extract- moisturizer, prevents irritation

The colour i received is gorgeous because it can be built up or sheered out, and also has micro fine red glitter that adds beautiful shine to the lips but is not overly noticeable and you don't feel the grit of glitter on the lips at all.

It has a very similar consistency to a tinted lip balm, but with better staying power.

The three lipstick cases are
012- Mint green with a pattern reminiscent of Spring freshness
013- A retro pattern evokes fields of wildflowers just waiting to be explored
014- A bold horse print on a gentle pink background to inspire adventure- Which is the one i would have liked

Lipsticks are 3g and $20 and the lipstick cases are $7

Last up is my favourite item I was sent which is the

Eye colour trio. There are 8 different trio's to be had, as well as 3 limited edition cases and the standard classic case.

The trio's available are

Breakfast in bed- Bright and warm browns to mimic a sunny day

My little kitty/Mon petit chaton- A sweet and sexy trio of browns

Le jardin des fleurs/ Garden of flowers- A playful combo of fresh green, flower pink and a touch of lavender

Tree-shaded walkway- Sophisticated maple colours reminenscent of the changing season

Cherry Blossom- Natural shades of pink, gold and brown blend effortlessly for a chic look

April in Paris- Three romantic shades that are the perfect pastel pairing evocative of Paris in Springtime

Night Cafe- 3 metallic shades create an effortlessly smoky day to night eye

and the trio i was sent is

Stormy Weather- Sultry shades are perfect for the spirited woman looking for a dark & smouldering look.

These are really nice shadows that are very creamy and pigmented and apply with ease. It doesn't take long to blend them out and they are extremely wearable anytime. The taupe colour in the middle really stands out in this trio and i have used it several times since receiving them. Even the black shade is quite different to most with a dusty charcoal feel to it with tiny tiny silver micro glitter.
There is little to no fall out with these shadows which is another plus.

You get 3g at $35 and the cases are $10

The limited edition cases are
A feminine floral pattern that is the same pattern as the packaging you see for the nail polish boxes above.

A fun flirty feline case with a coral polka dot background and the most adorable vintage looking kittens allover it.

Bursts of flowers decorate the last retro case that reminds me of old linens or fabrics to a time long past.

The classic case is actually plastic unlike the ones above that are heavy weight cardboard
The plastic case is pearly white on top and the bottom is pink with a fine gold trim and embossed with a floral pattern on the lid.

Out of them all i would have liked to get the kitten case to house the shadows i was sent.

All the items i have mentioned here today can be purchased at the following link

SONIA KASHUK JEWEL OF AN EYE PALETTE

GREETINGS,

On a handful of occasions I had been to Target I kept eyeing this 12 pan palette called "Jewel of an eye" from Sonia Kashuk which was limited edition for the holiday. I  have to admit that after my experience with her quad called "textured rose" I was hesitant to try the shadows again, however when I checked the price of this palette it ended up being on clearance for $9 from $20. Also looking at the darker jewel tone colours it offered I had a feeling this might work out better.

I like the packing its pretty sturdy and has a fairly good snap closure that I feel won't pop open even if its jostled about in your makeup bag. You get 9.6g total product and all the shadows are satin finish. Now before I show them to you lets break down the difference in eyeshadow finishes since many people get confused with this.

Frosted- Has an opaque finish that can have either a white or silver sparkle. You often will see light pastel shades with this finish and are better suited for younger skin as it will brighten the eye. Some times you will see a much older woman making the error of wearing such a finish of eyeshadow because maybe she loves the colour all the while not realizing this frosted finish actually draws more attention to the parched or sagging skin of the upper eye lid and drawing your eye to every line and wrinkle on that persons eyelid.

Satin- If your a person that may be on your way to getting older, but don't always want to wear matte shadows, and want a more gentle sparkle to your eye look without looking to glittery like your 16 then satin finish is a good choice. This is a good option for most everyone as a general rule.

Shimmer- Often more sheer coverage with a hint of sparkle. You can find a large range of colours in this finish and all though it can be worn by all ages I would say that satin is still a better option to me personally. When I think shimmer I think light bright highlighting shades. What do you think???

So moving on here are all the delicious swatches of this beauty of a palette

I love all the colours, the are rich and highly pigmented. The swatches were done over my Hard Candy "eyes the limit" primer. You get a lot of colour pickup with just one touch and as I was swatching I noticed no fall out. These eyeshadows also have an incredible velvety consistency and seem they will blend with total ease.

This is the first chance I have had to even touch these shadows since I purchased them over three weeks ago.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS PALETTE AND IS THERE A PRODUCT BY SONIA KASHUK THAT YOU LOVE OR HATE???

THANKS FOR READING EVERYONE AND BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR LOCAL TARGET FOR MANY OTHER ITEMS FROM SONIA KASHUK

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY XO:)

ESSENCE METAL GLAM EYESHADOW (LIMITED EDITION)

Hi all,

Have you caught a glimpse of the new limited edition Essence "Metal Glam" collection. There are several products to choose from such as eyeshadow, lipgloss, nail polish, highlighter, cream blush, nail stickers and nail jewels.
For me personally I could have bought a few different things in the collection, but opted to keep it simple and only bought the eyeshadow's because they are what really spoke to me. I love eyeshadow that has any type of foil or metallic finish so this was in the bag.
TAKE A LOOK AT ALL 3 COLOURS TOGETHER (there is a fourth colour, but that was not at my store, it is silver, which I don't need anyway.)
 PHOTO HEAVY

PETAL TO THE METAL

GOLDEN EYE

STEEL-ING THE SCENE

L2R- STEEL-ING THE SCENE, PETAL TO THE METAL & GOLDEN EYE

My personal opinion is that Steel-ing the scene is the clear winner here in terms of colour payoff and the name very befitting. However I did swatch without primer of any kind. They apply nicely with little fall out and are quite buttery in texture. I love this collection of eyeshadow's and look forward to playing with these colours further.

You get 2.5g for $3 CAD each

DID YOU BUY ANY ESSENCE METAL GLAM PRODUCTS????

THANKS EVERYONE, COME BACK AGAIN SOON
XOXO:)

A TAPESTRY FOR YOUR NAILS MAYBELLINE COLOR SHOW BROCADES

Welcome back all,

Over the holidays I made quite a few purchases and some were gifts, but I have a great selection of items to share with you all in the coming weeks.

Now originally I had boycotted buying anymore nail polishes, but I did receive some as gifts and there were a few I could not pass up that I purchased myself. That brings me to the limited edition collection of Maybelline Color Show Brocades. I was gifted 2 and bought 3, there are 8 in the whole collection, but some of the colours did not appeal to me.

LETS TAKE A LOOK AT THE FIVE POLISHES ALL TOGETHER FIRST

Now lets take a good close look at each colour and find out the names of these gems

Emerald Elegance-This gorgeous green is laced with fine dark and light green glitter and chalked full of large and small hex confetti glitter in a stunning shade of evergreen

Gilded Rose- This is a perfect marriage of fine gold glitter mixed with soft metallic pink large and small hex glitter to create the perfect balance of rose gold.

Embellished Blues- Like midnight in a bottle with fine green/gold glitter like stars in a night sky with large and small hex glitter in a rich deep blue. I imagine this one will be such a "NIGHT"mare to get off:P

Ruby Refined- Its pretty, sexy and will be sure to heat up any look over the holidays or even in to the warmer months. The base is a delicious candy apple red and gold fine glitter mix amped up with large and small hex glitter that leans almost hot pink.

Beaming Blue- Like a chunk of glistening ice that starts with a light as air blue base and melts down to small gold fine glitter that reflects purple in certain angles of light and mingles with large and small hex confetti glitter in this brocade ocean of blues.

All the colours are lovely in this collection and I like that the base of each polish has real substance in terms of colour instead of just a clear gel or slight colour. I feel this has really helped make this collection far more exceptional then some others. I feel you can easily wear this alone or use to accent your favourite mani.

However you all know that glitter is a disaster to get off, but so much fun to wear and look at.

Nicely done Maybelline "Two thumbs up" from me on this Brocades collection
7ml for $2.96

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS IF YOU PICKED UP ANY COLOURS FROM THIS LIMITED EDITION COLLECTION?????

Thanks for joining me in 2014

XOXO:)

L'OREAL COLLECTION PRIVEE LIPSTICKS

Hi Gals & Guys,

So as promised I am reviewing for you today two of the lipsticks from the L'Oreal Collection Privee. I am so in love with not only the lipsticks, but the tubes are gorgeous, sleek and classy looking. I wish this was the permanent packaging for the entire L'Oreal lipstick line. There is something truly elegant about gold and black together, it makes me think of a New Years black tie affair.

Moving a long each lipstick in the collection is a hand selected colour by a celebrity.

In Canada, the offerings come from: Eva Longoria, Doutzen Kroes, Freida Pinto and JLo. Internationally, colours were chosen by Julianne Moore, Aimee Mullins, Sonam Kapoor, Jane Fonda, Fan Bingbing, Leïla Bekhti, Liya Kebede, Inès de la Fressange and Aishwarya Rai.

The first colour I picked for uniqueness is FREIDA'S NUDE- Which has an unusual mauve/grey tone to it
and the second colour is J'LO'S NUDE which in my eyes to date is just the most pout perfecting nude. A must try for nude lovers everywhere, if you can find it.

 Freida's Nude

 J'Lo's Nude

and of course the super sexy packaging

There are also mini nail polishes in some seriously awesome colours like pale cream pink, dusty grey, coffee bean brown and a rich deep mahogany brown, but I have had to put the breaks on when it comes to buying nail polish.

They other lipstick colour that was at the store that I did not get was a extremely pale pink nude which was pretty in the tube, but when swatched only left a mere whisper of colour behind.

I hope you have enjoyed having a look at these lovely lipsticks and hope you get your hands on some too before they are gone.

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS IF YOU GOT ANYTHING FROM THE PRIVEE COLLECTION???

TILL NEXT TIME

STAY BEAUTIFUL XO

SECRET SOCIETY EYE PALETTE FROM QUO

Good day everyone,

Today I will be sharing with you another Limited Edition palette from Quo. It was part of their early fall line, but I don't know if it's still available or not at Shoppers Drug Mart. I normally don't like to review things that may not be available any longer but the presentation of this particular palette was just to pretty not to share.

The collection itself is called SECRET SOCIETY but the colours for this particular palette is called FEMME FATALE

So lets begin

The first thing that totally caught my eye was the packaging, which I do find most times then not Quo does a fantastic job with. Everything normally is impressive from a distance.

Then moving on to the offerings inside the palette it comes with 6 eyesahdows and 2 cream eyeliners.

The colour break down from left to right starting at the top is orange gold, minty blue, a smoky plum. bottom left to right is brown with a fine gold shimmer, teal and white. The two cream liners are pretty self explanatory.
The eyeshadows swatch in the picture with a shimmer but in person not as much. Its so fine that it's not really noticeable.

Here are some close up shots of 2 shades at a time

Then we have the swatches which I did with no primer

I actually feel this time around Quo did a good job with this palette, the shadows are fairly buttery, they wear well and the pigmentation is decent,  especially the cream liners.

Neutral colours are always good, but in this case the Teal & Plum steal the show.

This palette was $18 and each shadow is 1.8g and the cream liners are each 2g

I hope you enjoyed having a look at this multipurpose palette that will easily take you from day to night.

IF YOU LIVE IN CANADA DID YOU PICK UP ANYTHING FROM QUO'S SECRET SOCIETY COLLECTION?? LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS.

TILL NEXT TIME EVERYONE

STAY BEAUTIFUL XO
