I actually have been busy with a lot of other things this past week which is why I had no posts up except for last Monday. 
Moving on we are so close to summer now and even though it's not officially summer we definitely have been feeling it with the weather sitting in the high 20's. We all have to remember to protect our skin from the harmful uva/uvb rays so now it's even easier with Hawaiian tropics new offerings for 2015.

I love how you just spray and go with this product and no goopey lotion to deal with. This will be extremely helpful for reapplying at the beach where sand sticks to everything. I like that the spray nozzle is able to reach hard to get areas and there is no cap just a locking nozzle system (good thinking Hawaiian Tropic) My son loves getting the sunscreen spray down prior to going out and he says thats a lot more fun then be vigourously rubbed with annoying lotion and it's quicker so he can get to playing faster. This is a quick drying formula that protects, but doesn't leave the skin feeling tacky.

Just a small f.y.i.- DO NOT spray this near bare wood floor, besure to apply while standing on a towel or carpeted area. We initially sprayed this where it was bare floor and it was incredibly slipper after, so please be careful.

This will most definitely be a beach bag essential this summer, and it should be in yours as well.

If you love the silk hydration ribbon lotion for body, then your going to love the new face lotion which I might add is a weightless matte formula that is non-greasy and hypoallergenic for the face which is suitable even for those a little more sensitive skined.

My son loves this product every time we have ever put sunscreen on his face he complains it feels sticky and makes his eyes water, however this formula is creamy, glides over the skin easily, and non irritating to the youngsters skin. I like that it is light weight and matte which for me is a huge plus because my face gets so greasy during the summer months, so this is a great addition to our families sun care routine. The 50ml bottle may seem small, but you need very little product to accomplish the task, and a bottle will last you the whole summer maybe even into the next.

Both products are perfect for our family as we spend a lot of time outside during the summer months, so these are must haves for us. Also Hawaiian Tropic is a product that I have long associated with summer as I used it when I was a teenager hanging out by the pool or at the beach. As soon as I smell it be it the old dark tanning oil or now the skin protecting products this always remains my go too faves for summer.

"FALL" FOR WET N WILD MEGA SHIELD LIPSTICKS

Hi again everyone,


So to follow up to my previous post on Wet N Wild today I will be showing you four lipsticks from the MEGA SHIELD COLLECTION. To start there is 14 colours all together ranging from neutral nudes to the deepest berry tones and delicious pinks.

So my top picks are

BARE-LY LEGAL- This colour tends to lean more to the mocha brown side, this was more appealing to me in the tube sad to say. I use to love brownish toned lipsticks when I was younger and I confess I did the brown lip line around my lip which just looked ridiculous (lesson learned).

BIRTHDAY SUIT- This brilliant nude has a satin pink gold tone to it. This is for sure my favourite of the four lipsticks. This colour creates a slight foil finish to the lip, but nothing to dramatic, it's totally wearable day or night.

PEACHY KEEN- This is rather surprising because in the tube it just seems like a neutral tone with hints of peach in it, however it takes on a whole different look once applied. It has a very strong peachy tangerine tone to it with a shimmer and will work great for fall or summer. A lot of orange toned lipsticks were seen going down the runway at the recent New York fashion week so this colour is right on trend for the season.

WITHIN THESE ADOBE- is a very creamy opaque pink that makes me think of the inside of the light red grapefruits. Its fresh and pretty and does make your lips stand out. Similar to colours in the NYX line.

I like how moisturizing these Mega Shield lip colours are. I would not say these are sheer they definitely can hold their own pigment wise. All these lipsticks have SPF 15 in them and your lips will feel renewed from the rice bran and avocado oil in them.

 

 I equally enjoy these lipsticks as much as the Mega Last which tend to be slightly drying to the lip due to their semi-matte finish, but just add a little gloss to help with that.

 

You can pick up Wet N Wild Mega Shield at Walmart & Loblaw here in Canada, but I am sure they are more readily available at retailers through out the US.

HAWAIIAN TROPIC SELF TANNER, SUNSCREEN LOTION, AFTER-SUN MOISTURIZER

If your lifestyle is anything like mine, I am outside a great deal of the time. I tend to tan very easily, but I am also not looking to end up with skin cancer. So aside from getting a base tan that generally happens early on in the spring, I like to follow up with a few products that can help give you a nice glow any time you want really. I also love having products that can protect my whole family and give our skin much needed moisture after a long day out side.

Hawaiian Tropic was generous enough to send me these lovely products to try and review and I am truly grateful, so THANK YOU HAWAIIAN TROPIC.

The first item is two self tanning lotions, one is medium and will make your skin 2 shades darker, the other is medium dark and will generate a 3 shade darker tone to skin.

ISLAND RADIANCE SELF TANNING LOTION IN MEDIUM OR MEDIUM DARK
(SRP.$10.99)

 

I have tried both shades and they both work for my skin tone. As I mentioned my skin already had some colour to it prior to use. However if you are very fair, be sure to take it easy with this product and work your way in to it. The medium will give you more then enough colour. Once you build with that then you may be able to move to medium/dark.

This product is very light weight and feels really nice on the skin. It does have a light botanical scent which is nice, but be advised that as it generates the colour on your skin you may notice a toasty smell occurring similar to that of after being in a tanning bed. If you have never been in one then you won't know the smell I speak of.

This self tanner will provide you with 12hr moisture, give you a fairly natural colour, but do use with care when working around toes, knees and ankle areas. I did notice a bit of orange happening, but nothing to bad. I also find as it fades around the inner elbow area it looks a little patchy, so you do have to be diligent about maintaining the colour unless you don't want to continue using the product. I find the best time to apply this is after my shower at night, then apply and by the next day you wake with a radiant glow.

I do recommend this product more for people with a naturally warmer skin tone. Even though everyone would love to benefit from a self tanner, I think this may be a little much on very fair skin. That's just my opinion and should not discourage you from trying it, if your heart is set on having a tan with out the help of the damaging sun.

SILK HYDRATION SUNSCREEN LOTION WITH SPF 50

This sunscreen also comes in an SPF 30 which is more then adequate. There is some speculation that an SPF any higher actually has no greater benefit. This has yet to be determined.

 

 

Hawaiian Tropic products tend to have a nice coconut scent to it and this sunscreen is creamy and not greasy. It is also great for anyone who is a water lover, because your still protected as this product is waterproof. This is great for children who play a lot out doors during the summer months and because of the pleasant smell it will be easier to apply on little faces. Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen is lovingly infused with silk protein and shea butter for lasting hydration to the skin and feels silky upon application.

 

For ANY sunscreen to remain effective please be sure to apply 15-30 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply at least every 2 hours and especially after swimming, washing or excessive sweating.

If you love rich moisture seeping into your skin and wrapping you in ribbons of aloe and leaving behind a delicious scent of coconut and papaya, then this after sun care will surely be a hit.

 

 

I love the texture of this because you get the creaminess of the lotion balanced by the light gel of aloe for a perfectly healing moisturizer. I am crazy about tropical scented products so this is worth the purchase to me. I would repurchase this after I run out. Also this particular product is suppose to provide you with 24hr moisture. I can't say for sure as I tend to shower twice a day during the summer, so I am often reapplying lotions.

 

I hope that you will all give something here a try. These products are extremely affordable and if used correctly can give you its multi benefits.

 

 

Hawaiian Tropic has been around for almost 45 years and I trust in this brand. I still often use the DARK TANNING OIL, but not because I am trying to tan I find it is a great product for moisturizing, and I discovered that it works wonders for around dry heels and around your finger nail cuticles.

The dark tanning oil has a very distinct smell that transports me back to my teenage years of the beach, being poolside and any other summer fun. The newer products definitely don't have the same smell, but are equally nice.

So layer on some Hawaiian Tropic products today, head to the beach and get ready to hang ten under the sun.
