***NEW*** MAKE UP FOR EVER SMOKY EXTRAVAGANT MASCARA

THIS PRODUCT WAS SENT TO ME FOR REVIEW AND CONSIDERATION FROM MAKE UP FOR EVER. HOWEVER ALL VIEWS AND OPINIONS ARE MY OWN BASED ON MY PERSONAL FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT.

Are you ready for some serious lashes? sure to give some heavy competition in the mascara world.

Then brace your lashes for MAKE UP FOR EVER'S SMOKY EXTRAVAGANT MASCARA.

This is a super glamorous mascara that drapes the lashes in an eye defining ultra black pigment giving your lashes that lights, camera, and ready for action look.

Make Up For Ever states: "This is a must have for all women. The pro quality cone shaped brush has an instant effect in one stroke. The precision tip separates and accentuates lashes as the round base creates extravagant volume from any distance."

In order to deliver amazing pigmentation Dany Sanz has used natural mineral pigments made from Micronized Iron Oxide. Which in short just means the iron oxide has been broken down into extremely fine particles which in turn better coats each and every lash with intense colour.

Being that this product is made of natural pigments you'll have the comfort of knowing it's safe for sensitive eyes and those who wear contacts.

From my picture you get a good look at the coverage, volume and length this mascara provides. I love mascara that really makes lashes stand out. Sometimes I like a more subtle look, but most times then not, bring on the BOLD lashes. However you don't need to be heavy handed with this mascara at all as it does go on quite heavy if your not careful.

I just washed off what was on my eye and amazingly the claim holds true, it is so easy to clean off. There is nothing left behind and no extra work for me. I find some mascara's leave a trace amount behind or a bit of a stain on the skin just below the eye and you need to use cleanser or Vaseline to get that off. BRAVO a mascara that looks great, but is not a nightmare to get off.
A mascara that is sweat proof, but water soluble, how ingenious.

This brush reminds me of a miniature Christmas tree with its abundance of some 580 bristles which are all part of the magic of this mascara and its ability to define and separate down to the tiny corner lashes. This brush design is not typical and may not be embraced by all who use it.

I wouldn't say this mascara is entirely clump free, but if you don't over do it it's fine.

So in closing I think Make Up For Ever has hit this right out of the park for lover's of extravagant lashes. People who are currently favouring other brands of mascara may very well be dancing on over to loving this new SMOKY EXTRAVAGANT MASCARA.

This mascara comes in a sturdy pro looking tube and is 7ml
$28

I do see this mascara on Sephora's website, however I am not sure if it has landed in stores yet.
Please check with your local Sephora store or Make Up For Ever fine boutiques.

MAYBELLINE FALSIES BIG EYES MASCARA REVIEW

Hope your all having a great day,

I want to say that I am in no way the type of person that feels I need to buy tons of mascara. Due to the nature of the product and the fact that it is something that needs to be replaced more often I tend to be much more selective when deciding to buy mascara.

I probably would have not purchased this BIG eyes mascara for the simple fact I have four mascara's on the go that I continually rotate through. However I did buy this one because I already made a statement that I would be reviewing it and I did not want to go back on my word.

So I did pick one up at my local SHOPPERS DRUG MART and I think they were $10.99. My choice was and usually always is blackest black with any mascara unless it's a colour like electric blue. So if you see this Maybelline please consider bringing back the GREAT LASH mascara in the blue and plum those were amazing mascara's and I miss them.

So for anyone who hasn't heard about this mascara basically it is a dual ended product. This mascara offers up one standard size wand on one end and a small one on the other to fine detail your lower lashes.

SO THIS IS MY EYE BEFORE THE MASCARA

THIS IS MY EYE WITH UPPER AND LOWER LASHES COMPLETE

As you can see this mascara really does define and accentuate even the smallest of lashes. I do like this mascara, but I feel I can achieve the same quality if not better with Maybelline's Rocket mascara in the same colour. One thing I will say is that being it's not waterproof it does have excellent stay power. Just for the sake of my blog I did one eye and left it on while I slept and the next morning my eyelashes still looked nice. I did have a bit of smudging on my lower eye lid and flakey bits, which is to be expected. Oddly enough there wasn't any smeared on my pillow case which is great to know should you accidently fall a sleep wearing it.
\
My question to Maybelline is how different are the formulations from one mascara to the next??? Is it really a significant difference that would make for a $3-4 difference from one mascara to the other, or is it merely because it's the new shiny toy on the shelf? (sorry I just have to put that out there.)

One thing I really appreciate about this mascara is because it's dual ended the wands are shorter. I like that because it feels like you can get in so much closer to your eyelashes without having say a two inch length of wand, it's only about a quarter inch and it feels more in control in your hand.

The small detailing end is a creative endeavour on Maybelline's part and for those who are novice to makeup this might be a great addition to start off your makeup collection. This may also be helpful to those who have an unsteady hand due to a medical condition or a senior who still wants to try to put a little makeup on from day to day with little to no help. I on the other hand I have been using mascara for just about 23 years and feel I can accomplish this task with one standard wand.

I imagine in the cosmetic industry mascara is probably one of the hardest things to continually reinvent to seem better, bolder and seem different enough to catch consumers attention. So I say kudos to the brands that make every effort to keep bringing us something new and marketable in such a demanding market such as makeup.

So I would love to hear your thoughts on this new BIG eyes mascara and any comments you would like to share.

Maybelline falsies BIG eyes mascara is available at many retailers now

****SPECIAL EDITION MEN'S MONDAY******* AVON BLACK SUEDE ESSENTIAL

For those of you that don't know I have decided to start a new segment on MakeUp'Asylum called "MEN'S MONDAY."

So for all you gals and guys out there that have a spouse or partner that loves facial care, shaving products and cologne then continue reading because that's what this is all about.

Now a days more and more men are starting to take much better care of their skin and making that a big part of their everyday routines. Also we as spouses and partners appreciate our men smelling just as good as we do, but on a masculine note.
That being said that's why I decided to start touching base on this end of the cosmetic world.

The item I would like to talk about on this very first "Men's Monday" is Avon's BLACK SUEDE ESSENTIAL. There are some names of cologne or perfume that are from Avon the minute you hear it you associate it with old or outdated. However rest assured this new take on an old favorite is sure to please a new audience of consumers.

So according to my husband he says he likes this cologne and has no complaints. He feels it has good staying power and the bottle is a nice simple yet masculine design that fits well in the medicine cabinet, which is his preferred place to keep his toiletries. The bottle is quite nice and is a deep rich plum purple glass with a thick plastic cap, but doesn't look cheap.

In terms of smell both my husband and I really like this. We have read other reviews about this cologne on "FRAGRANTICA" and totally disagree with people saying that its a weak cologne.
I smell rich tones throughout that is warm, but not to overly spicy which can be choky and irritating. I also smell the blend of lavender and faintly citrus. The scents I notice most is a rich musky leather, which I for one am a big fan of, but I understand that's not for everyone. I find this is a mature scent, but not mature as in old, mature as in just age appropriate for those in their 30's perhaps.
My husband said that he would buy this again because its a practical cologne and you get a lot for how much you pay.
So we got a bogo deal on this, I got my perfume free and this cologne is 100ml and was $20 at the time we purchased it.

Just remember when purchasing perfume or cologne when you have sprayed it on to make sure to do so on your pulse points and you don't have to drown yourself in it. We tend to think that because our nose has adjusted and we can't smell it that it means its weak, not true. People around you, standing beside you or in passing can indeed smell what your wearing. I like when I pass someone and catch a whisper of what they are wearing, not being hit by a wall of fragrance which in some cases can be horrible and stomach turning.

So in closing we will be using different ratings based on what we are speaking about that day. Today on the SMELL OR METER my husband and I give this a 4 outta 5.

So if this cologne sounds good to you contact your local Avon rep today. The reps can sometimes hook you up with a sample to try or look out for great offers and buy yourself a bottle.

HOPE YOU HAVE ENJOYED THIS NEW SEGMENT AND FOR ALL YOU MEN OUT THERE STAY TUNED AND...........

QUO *NEW* SUMMER PALETTE "UNTAMED ALLURE", ULTIMATE BAKED COLLECTION, NAIL POLISH AND MORE..

In more recent times I am becoming more of a fan and a supporter of the private label to Shopper's Drug Mart called QUO. I realize these products are not readily available to everyone everywhere, but they are excellent products and if you live in Canada or know someone who can get them for you they are worth your time and money.

They have many items available in their hard lines, but they also bring out seasonal collections which I always like to see what they have come up with next. The packaging alone is often beautiful designs and top notch quality.

So to start I just purchased a new eye palette from the QUO summer collection called UNTAMED ALLURE. This palette offers up ten eyeshadow's each one is .9g and two cream eyeliner's and each of those are .7g

This palette package is so nice and for a fan of animal prints of any kind this is a must have. There is a second palette that has more neutral tones and the case has a blue animal print lid which was gorgeous, but I have so many nude shadows already I opted for this instead. I like the alternating pattern within the eyeshadows and there are 4 satin and 4 shimmer colours and ironically 1 matte which is a light lavender. Maybe two matte options may have been a safer bet. This palette goes for $18
The colour pay off is good, but not superior. However for everyday business casual use this is perfect for professional ladies looking for subtle tones. That leads me in to the next product.

The ULTIMATE BAKED COLLECTION. This collection was introduced for the Spring line. This palette opens like a book which I personally like. On one side is directions to achieve a look and the other side houses 12 baked eye shadows and two baked blushes and a full size eyeshadow brush. That brush alone is a great deal in this kit because Quo brushes are not cheap and they are so luxuriously soft.

EYESHADOW'S

BLUSHES

So as you can see from the previous palette to this one the pigmentation of the colours in this set is phenom. I would love these shadows in the animal print case that would be perfect.
This baked palette normal is $32, but I scored mine for $18

Also from the spring line I purchased one of the "Pearl Kisses Lip Glosses" in the colour PASSIONATE PINK
I really like Quo's packing every collection they have brought out has offered up something unique and different from one to the next. This lip gloss has a rose gold cap and matching chain tassel with a small pearl and high heel charm, very cute idea's.

I really like Quo's glosses they apply nicely and are quite smooth and don't feel tacky on the lips. This is a very sheer gentle pink that can be worn alone or over top your favorite pink lipsticks.
This gloss is 6.5ml and normally they retail for $12, I got mine for $3.

Then also from the Spring line and on sale were two of the eyeliners the first colour is PATINA
and applies a very icy blue tone. I love these types of colours because they really add that extra something to the lash line and make anyone`s eye`s stand out much more.
PATINA

 ICE PINK

I put the Ice Pink next to the blue to show how light and delicate this colour is. I personally feel I will have more fun using with the blue. These are very soft pencils so you do not need to press hard and that applies to all Quo pencil`s. The thin pencils are about $8 I paid $3.

I also bought one of the jumbo "Electric Eye's Pencil" in the colour SPARK at first I saw they were on for $5.99, but it only applied to this shade. I originally wasn't going to get it as I did prefer another one that was more a pistachio colour. However that was not on sale. So the reason I bought this is because it turned out not to be a boring white pencil after all. When applied it flashes purple/pink which is gorgeous and fun.

I wore this as my eye liner today and I love the shine out in the sunlight. There are about 7 different colours to choose from. This jumbo pencils are regularly $12. I personally think that's a bit much, but then again anything over $10 I usually complain. ;P

Finally the last items are two nail polishes both are glitter based one is called SUPER CUTE and the other is MY MUSE. Super cute is a really nice pink with golden pink glitter laced through it. My Muse is a purple and silver glitter combo. I find the glitter in "Super Cute" a little finer or it might merely be the colour making it look that way.

 SUPER CUTE

 MY MUSE

Quality wise these are great nail polishes as this is a Quo collaboration with Orly so its right up there with the like's of Opi and China Glaze. There are new colours coming out often and when the less recent one's go on sale you can scoop them up for about $4 like I did with these. They are full size at 14ml and new colour collections are $10.
If you love nail polish this is a polish worth looking at.

So that is my QUO haul for today, hope you all enjoyed it.
Comment's are always welcome
