"ALL THAT GLITZ" CHECK OUT THE OPI MISS UNIVERSE COLLECTION

Hello everyone,

So today on my blog I will be sharing with you the OPI Miss Universe Collection. I feel that this post is a bit bittersweet as the terms in which I received these polishes wasn't at it's finest. That's why I have not posted this till now because I almost was not going to bother reviewing them. Any way no less here we are, so lets get on with it.

There are three colours offered two are purples and one is a satin finish (no top coat)

Lets take a look

I'M FEELING SASHY- Is a sophisticated muted lavender with a subtle grey undertone.

MISS YOU-NIVERSE- This is a super delicious dark purple that is verging black when not in direct light. Keep in mind when working with really dark colours application must be more precise (which mine is clearly not) other wise every imperfection shows and it just looks messy.

THIS GOWN NEEDS A CROWN- This stunning new offering from OPI is a satin finish "no top coat" nail polish that is a very shimmery silver that will have your nails looking "Bling Beautiful" for the holidays.

Also I am not sure what the point is but the little crown charm is very sassy. Out of all the polishes this one is my favourite because I really love the finish, it's like a milder version of liquid sands. For those of you that have been around for a while you all know how much I love the liquid sands line.

As always I feel OPI is good quality polish, but I do feel that there are polishes out there of comparable quality for a fraction of the cost for those on a budget. I have never once finished an entire bottle of nail polish so I don't know how necessary it is to have a large collection of full size bottles. As I expressed in a previous post I wish more companies would bring out entire collections more in mini sizes and cut their prices. That to me seems more practical.

Be sure to check out more from OPI at their website

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THIS COLLECTION??

TILL THEN...

ANNA SUI EYE COLOUR CRAYON'S & DOUBLE EYE COLOR SHADOW PENS

Today we are going to take a look at Anna Sui's "Eye Color Crayon's" which are basically a self sharpening eye colour that will add shimmer and dimension to any eye look. These eye crayons are created with a "STAY FIT OIL" so they wear seamlessly all day.

The first colour is 900- This is a nice aquatic blue with a gorgeous shimmer sure to make the eyes pop. You can wear this alone or with your favorite eyeshadow combination.

It almost looks more minty under the light, but I assure you it's a richer blue as you will see in the next picture

This is definitely a great colour for those warm sunny days at the beach. If you like to wear a bit of colour to the beach you can wear it confidently knowing it will stay on even if you go in the water.

The next colour is more dramatic and will work great for a late night out dancing and give you that sexy smokey glimmer to the eye. This is #002

This colour has some what of a duochrome finish. It appears black, but the flash is an inky purple tone that is quite nice because it's a step up from the norm of just the basic black kohl look.
The only downside to these color crayons is when its time to take it off you will notice significant shimmer left behind on the skin. You may have to work at it a little more to get it all off.
However for the lover of all things shimmer I do recommend these as they do have nice colour payoff and the staying power is excellent. Also the colour selection itself is decent.

You get 1.5g/.05oz for between $20-30 depending on where you shop.

Next up is the "DOUBLE EYE COLOR." This is a dual ended pen style product that offers two complimentary eye shadows in a travel friendly application. You can blend, define and line with this product and give your eyes beautiful washes of colour.

As you can see these colours are bright and richly pigmented. The one pen comes with the pink and pearl white and the other is the yellow and mint.
The mint colour has quickly become a favorite of mine and seems to apply the easiest out of all the colours. All though the pink swatched well I find it a challenge to apply to the eye and get the colour amped up.
The mint colour reminds me of a softer version of NARS larger than life eyeliner called "Barrow Street."

However for the amount that you pay there is very little product in these duo's coming in at a mere
0.8g/.02oz and your looking at $30-35 OUCH! big price, small amount of product. Don't get me wrong the colours are lovely and if your in a position to purchase these then go for it, I for one would not pay that for any eyeliner or shadow especially when you don't get much and there are so many equally great products out there for a fraction of the price.

So I hope you discovered a product here today that you may want to try and I hope your all enjoying the beginning's of your summer. Thanks for reading.

Stay tuned as part 3 of my Anna Sui haul continues with Lip products coming soon to

MAYBELLINE FIT ME FOUNDATION STICK AND LIMITED EDITION SEQUINS NAIL POLISH

Hi to all,

Maybelline has really been pumping out the products this past few months and most of them have been quite good. Today we will look at Maybelline's FIT ME foundation stick and see how it lives up to it's claim.

The shade I chose is #130 BUFF BEIGE. This foundation stick reminds me a lot of a lighter weight version of Max Factor's PAN STICK, which to me was a phenomenal product. So moving a long the things I do like about this foundation is due to the anti-shine core the product glides on effortlessly and blends out beautifully.

I find this product is very dual purpose. I don't know that I would personally wear this and this alone, but I find to conceal blemishes and use under eyes its great.

So I have tested this on my entire face and I did notice that I still had shine in my t-zone and after a few hours of wear it does streak a bit from sweating. I generally have very oily skin, so no matter what foundation I use be it high or low end the end result is always the same, shiny and slick. That's even with setting powder and so on.
However what I find has worked is using the foundation stick in problem areas and then applying my regular foundation over top and I do see that it overall gives a fairly nice flawless complexion.

I would say no matter what or how you use this product that touch ups will be in order if you have oily skin.
I must like this product regardless because I do still keep reaching for it.
I have however had a slight break out recently over my nose and I hope it's not this stick. Sometimes an ingredient in mattifying products tend to make me break out. I will keep testing and see what happens. I will try to follow up soon.

Overall I give Maybelline's new FIT ME foundation stick a 8/10. I think for someone like me I will really see the benefits of this stick come the cooler months when my face is less apt to being so oily.

The last two items I wanted to share are the Maybelline Limited Edition Sequin's nail polish. Again I picked glitter and was cursing the whole way to the check out knowing the ridiculous battle I would be dealing with trying to get it back off. Sadly the pretty glitter and colour won me over and landed in my basket, staring up at me laughing and saying "HAHA sucker you fell for our prettiness and sparkle yet again" **SIGH**

The first colour is a blueish/purple glitter with larger hot pink glitter throughout and that one is called SAPPHIRE MASQUERADE, the second one is a rose gold pink glitter with larger glitter that again is hot pink and also in this one iridescent its called ROSE BLING.

I sadly think I just love glitter, but maybe not so much nail polish. I think I will be toning down how many polishes I buy in the future. I am always busy with other things and don't really have a lot of time to dedicate to fussing over my nails. Now that summer is here I especially don't have time and my nails are really short for now. So unless your a person who diligently does your nails with perfection and are afforded the time to do so, I say skip the sparkle.

The thing that surprises me most with glitter polish is that no matter what it still chips just like any other polish and yet its so darn hard to get off, go figure.

Each polish is 7ml and was $2.97 at Walmart in Canada

Thanks for reading and come back soon

NEW REVLON COLOURS-SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK & GLOSSES

I admit I have not used Revlon lip colours of any kind in a very long time. So I thought since they brought out about a dozen each of new glosses and lipstick it was time to reacquaint myself.

So I bought the super lustrous lipstick in the colour LOVER'S CORAL which is a beautiful colour for summer and sure to be a hot seller this season. It adds a nice creamy smooth wash of colour but it's not to super bright which may help to open up the age ratio because some older women may not want to wear something quite as daring as say Maybelline's "PINK POP."
I like this because it's staying true to the orange and coral family of colours, but is just the right amount of sexy colour.

EXCUSE THE DUCK LIPS ;)

They only thing I find is that because it has a very slippery feel it tends to come off fairly quick if your eating or drinking anything, however I don't mind reapplying. My biggest complaint with a lot of lipsticks now a days is the price I have a really hard time paying out $10 or more for lipsticks or any products for that matter. I know we have to evolve with the times and costs go up, but really $10. I am astounded when I see people willing paying $20-50 for a cosmetic product, YIKES! especially when I know how much those products actually cost to manufacture and how horrible the Canadian mark up is.

Moving along I also bought two of the Super Lustrous Glosses, my picks were SUGAR VIOLET & PINK POP which are both lovely colours, but originally when I bought them I thought I was totally going to be loving the sugar violet and that has not been the case. I actually have fallen in love with the pink pop. Here it is such a nice juicy watermelon colour for the lips

This colour is so nice and glossy and this tends to be more a cream finish where as the sugar violet has a sparkle in it.

I find with "Sugar Violet" that it wears very sheer and not as intense as it would seem in the tube. However pink pop because it's a cream you can build up the colour better.

So here is sugar violet

I don't know what it is every time I use a gloss with sparkle when I first apply it my lips feel really funny like they are slightly burning, but then it's gone with in a minute or so!?!? Anyone else ever notice this? do leave a comment below, also tell me what your favorite lip glosses are.

I do like all the products mentioned here for different reasons and find them to be quality purchases. Long ago my go to favorite lipstick in high school was the coveted Revlon TOAST OF NEW YORK which was one of the best selling lipsticks amongst us teen girls in the 90's. It obviously has stood the test of time because it's still on the shelf today.

So the glosses and lipsticks are about the same price depending on where you shop. They are approx. $10. I don't know if all the colours being offered will remain a part of Revlon's permanent collection. So don't delay get yours today.

Glosses are .13fl oz/3.8ml
Lipsticks are standard size does not show amount on actual tube or sticker on bottom

I purchased mine at my local SHOPPER'S DRUG MART, but I am sure you can pick these up a most mass retailers near you.

Hope you enjoyed this review and stay tuned as I will be reviewing two of my favorite Revlon matte lip colours soon

UNTIL THEN EVERYONE.....

QUO *NEW* SUMMER PALETTE "UNTAMED ALLURE", ULTIMATE BAKED COLLECTION, NAIL POLISH AND MORE..

In more recent times I am becoming more of a fan and a supporter of the private label to Shopper's Drug Mart called QUO. I realize these products are not readily available to everyone everywhere, but they are excellent products and if you live in Canada or know someone who can get them for you they are worth your time and money.

They have many items available in their hard lines, but they also bring out seasonal collections which I always like to see what they have come up with next. The packaging alone is often beautiful designs and top notch quality.

So to start I just purchased a new eye palette from the QUO summer collection called UNTAMED ALLURE. This palette offers up ten eyeshadow's each one is .9g and two cream eyeliner's and each of those are .7g

This palette package is so nice and for a fan of animal prints of any kind this is a must have. There is a second palette that has more neutral tones and the case has a blue animal print lid which was gorgeous, but I have so many nude shadows already I opted for this instead. I like the alternating pattern within the eyeshadows and there are 4 satin and 4 shimmer colours and ironically 1 matte which is a light lavender. Maybe two matte options may have been a safer bet. This palette goes for $18
The colour pay off is good, but not superior. However for everyday business casual use this is perfect for professional ladies looking for subtle tones. That leads me in to the next product.

The ULTIMATE BAKED COLLECTION. This collection was introduced for the Spring line. This palette opens like a book which I personally like. On one side is directions to achieve a look and the other side houses 12 baked eye shadows and two baked blushes and a full size eyeshadow brush. That brush alone is a great deal in this kit because Quo brushes are not cheap and they are so luxuriously soft.

EYESHADOW'S

BLUSHES

So as you can see from the previous palette to this one the pigmentation of the colours in this set is phenom. I would love these shadows in the animal print case that would be perfect.
This baked palette normal is $32, but I scored mine for $18

Also from the spring line I purchased one of the "Pearl Kisses Lip Glosses" in the colour PASSIONATE PINK
I really like Quo's packing every collection they have brought out has offered up something unique and different from one to the next. This lip gloss has a rose gold cap and matching chain tassel with a small pearl and high heel charm, very cute idea's.

I really like Quo's glosses they apply nicely and are quite smooth and don't feel tacky on the lips. This is a very sheer gentle pink that can be worn alone or over top your favorite pink lipsticks.
This gloss is 6.5ml and normally they retail for $12, I got mine for $3.

Then also from the Spring line and on sale were two of the eyeliners the first colour is PATINA
and applies a very icy blue tone. I love these types of colours because they really add that extra something to the lash line and make anyone`s eye`s stand out much more.
PATINA

 ICE PINK

I put the Ice Pink next to the blue to show how light and delicate this colour is. I personally feel I will have more fun using with the blue. These are very soft pencils so you do not need to press hard and that applies to all Quo pencil`s. The thin pencils are about $8 I paid $3.

I also bought one of the jumbo "Electric Eye's Pencil" in the colour SPARK at first I saw they were on for $5.99, but it only applied to this shade. I originally wasn't going to get it as I did prefer another one that was more a pistachio colour. However that was not on sale. So the reason I bought this is because it turned out not to be a boring white pencil after all. When applied it flashes purple/pink which is gorgeous and fun.

I wore this as my eye liner today and I love the shine out in the sunlight. There are about 7 different colours to choose from. This jumbo pencils are regularly $12. I personally think that's a bit much, but then again anything over $10 I usually complain. ;P

Finally the last items are two nail polishes both are glitter based one is called SUPER CUTE and the other is MY MUSE. Super cute is a really nice pink with golden pink glitter laced through it. My Muse is a purple and silver glitter combo. I find the glitter in "Super Cute" a little finer or it might merely be the colour making it look that way.

 SUPER CUTE

 MY MUSE

Quality wise these are great nail polishes as this is a Quo collaboration with Orly so its right up there with the like's of Opi and China Glaze. There are new colours coming out often and when the less recent one's go on sale you can scoop them up for about $4 like I did with these. They are full size at 14ml and new colour collections are $10.
If you love nail polish this is a polish worth looking at.

So that is my QUO haul for today, hope you all enjoyed it.
Comment's are always welcome

RIMMEL LASTING FINISH KATE LIPSTICKS AND SINGLE PAN SHADOW

Hi everyone,

There are something's that Rimmel has released that are very hit and miss in my past experience. However I thought I would share some recent Rimmel items I have tried that I am really liking at the moment.

Starting with the eyes I have been using for a couple of months now the mascara called "Volume Flash Scandal Eyes" and its the water proof formula in BLACK.

The things I like about this mascara are that it coats the lashes well and does add volume. I like the big bushy traditional wand with it. I find it defines the lashes nicely too. My only minor complaint with this mascara is when its wet it tends to leave a lot of dots on the upper eyelid, but a q-tip will clean it up easily but its annoying if you have already completed your eyeshadow for the day. Even though it is waterproof it is fairly easy to remove at days end.
You get 12ml/.41fl oz for about $7.

Then in a gift bag of cosmetics I received for a donation I made I got the "Glam'Eyes" mono single pan eyeshadow in 100 GLAM ICE.

I don't really own any Rimmel shadows but this could be the game changer. I will say this shadow is great for highlighting the brow bone or inner corner and illuminates the eye beautifully. I find it feels very silky and powdery but in a good way. I didn't notice any real fall out issues. As you can see it is insanely pigmented and I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a good highlight shadow. There is 2.4g/.085oz of product for about $6 and come in 9 shades.

In that same gift bag of goodies I also got one of the "Lasting Finish" lipsticks by Kate. It comes in the black tube and is the colour 04 which is a very deep plum purple. It actually almost looks black in the tube and rather intimidating but once on your lips its not as dark and a lot more enjoyable.

Sadly it would seem they have eliminated this colour from the line. I feel this is a wearable colour and to see it on my lips take a look on my Instagram page for my lips of the day pic. Instagram link is in the side bar. I am sure Mac and various other brands carry something similar if you like daring bold colours such as this.
4g/.14oz for around $8

There is also the matte lasting finish collection by Kate as well and since they were on sale I bought two colours. First is 102 which I really wish they would give the lipsticks a name instead "SO RIMMEL IF YOU READ THIS CONSIDER MAKING THAT SMALL CHANGE PLEASE."
Any way this colour to me is the perfect every day matte pink and since I bought it I have used it everyday for my standard look.

102

I find these lipsticks wear beautifully and last for quite a while on the lip before needing a touch up. I liked it so much that's why I went back to get this second colour which is 110 it is a very bright red watermelon tone.

110
In the pictures it captures with a strong orange tone. This is a great colour for summer a must have for lovers of bright colour and budget friendly cosmetics.
I also really like the packaging for this particular collection of lipsticks, they look quite nice standing there.
Also 10 shades available in the matte finish

If you like these colours head to a store near you. You can also check out these collections on the website at
