NYC CONCEALER AND ARDELL EYELASH ADHESIVE

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing two products with you, both of which can be used around or on the eye. The first item is

NYC SMOOTH SKIN LIQUID CONCEALER

The thing that first made me laugh is that in the pack was a very small cosmetic sponge which they called a bonus, I would rather they hadn't bothered, mine went straight in the trash. To me this is not a bonus by any standard. However to each there own, I guess!

As for the concealers performance it is quite good at covering redness or spots from blemishes. It does a good job priming the eye area prior to adding eyeshadow. I would say it covers any of the unevenness on the eyelid and small veins. It starts out wet and begins to dry somewhat tacky and you need to work quickly with this product. Once dry it feels light and powdery, but in a good way.

I am not a fan of the smell, but as it dries it disappears pretty quick.
I would say the coverage is on par with the concealer I have been using for the past three months now which is the "Stay all day 16hr concealer" from Essence. They actually are quite similar, but Essence has a bit more pleasant smell and is a little creamier, but the NYC concealer might just do a hair better at covering imperfections.

This is 786 Light which as you can see is very light

You get 7.2ml of product for about $4 CAD

I give this a 4 out of 5 only because of the smell and the embarrassing bonus

I invested in some eyelash adhesive from ARDELL.

This is a clear adhesive and it has that typical latex scent to it and it sets in about 30 seconds. I have tested it out and I find it works fine and holds lashes on well for however long you want them on.

It is a strange feeling that takes some getting use to when you peel lashes off. The only thing I don`t like is I feel a little burning sensation upon application until the adhesive has dried. Who knows maybe I am having a very mild reaction to the latex, but that is odd as I don`t have issues using latex gloves or anything made with latex.

As long as it does the trick and I don`t have any further reaction I will use it up. I have heard people mention having reaction to Duo adhesive as well, so meh! It`s only a few hours I may have it on my eye so it`s all good.

So that's all I have for you today

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS WHICH DRUG STORE CONCEALER YOU LOVE AND IF YOU HAVE EVER NOTICED THAT EYELASH ADHESIVE TINGLES OR MILDLY BURNS UPON APPLICATION???

MAKE YOUR STATEMENT WITH MILANI LIPSTICKS

Good day everyone,

I don't know what it is, but I find myself on a lipstick buying binge as of late, actually more then anything else. Years ago I had a huge makeup collection before blogging and Youtube became the big thing. I often think all those years I could have been doing this *SIGH* and my lipstick collection was just as big then as it is again now.

I recently went to a near by Loblaw and did not realize the huge selection they have of cosmetics including Milani which is a great discovery.

I picked up another fall type colour which is the Milani Colour Statement lipstick 17 PLUMROSE.
I wore this yesterday when I went out and had a couple of women ask me what I was wearing. It does tend to be a brighter bolder lipstick, but still very wearable.

I feel it picked up a lot more red in the picture but is quite a deep pink mauve in the light.

I feel Milani lipsticks have very good staying power and it barely faded by the time I got home after a few hours out. However everyone's experience with lipstick and cosmetics in general will always differ.
Milani has recently changed the smell in their lipsticks which I definitely appreciate. Previous
lipsticks like Rose Hip or Mango Mambo are almost unbearable for me to wear because of over fragrance. However Rose Hip has now been carried over to the new line.

So if your looking for a lipstick that is great for fall but not really typical of the darker garnets and plums then this colour would be a good fit.

CHECK OUT MILANI'S WEBSITE FOR A WIDE RANGE OF COSMETICS AS WELL AS 27 BEAUTIFUL SHADES IN THIS LIPSTICK COLLECTION

NYC HD TRIO EYESHADOWS

Hi everyone,

I have to admit that as of late I find myself not drawn to many products I am seeing at the drug store and big box store level there hasn't been a whole lot of new items at least not near where I live.

However at my last visit to Walmart I noticed three hd color trio eye shadow's by NYC. I thought the colours would be nice for fall and it said new on the signage so I thought I would give them a go.

The first trio is called 790 CONCRETE JUNGLE the highlighter shade is a pearlescent white followed up with a deep rich saturated navy blue for all over the lid and the crease colour is a shimmery silver that blends well with the blue.

I find that once applied to the skin the silver takes on some what of a taupe feel especially once blended with the blue. All though the blue looks very shimmery in the pan it actually seems more matte once applied to the eye and blended out.

Next up is 789 WEST VINTAGE which is a combination of a light minty green for highlighting, a jewel toned grape/plum purple and a beautiful intense emerald green.

These are really beautiful colours that totally get me in the mood for fall and the colour payoff for all the trio's are pretty impressive for how inexpensive they are. I highly recommend them especially for those on a budget.

Last trio is URBAN SPICE this is my favorite of the three trio's because I can see myself using this regularly because they are colours suitable for any occasion. The highlight is a creamy champagne light beige followed with a another rich green that I feel is a true forest green. The last shade is a gorgeous peachy rose gold that could also be used as a blush. The colours work seamlessly together to create a stunning warm look on the eyes.

I do enjoy these eyeshadow's as with many others I own. I look forward to seeing what else NYC comes out with in the near future. Again for the price of $3.27 each you can't go wrong. The colours are rich and pigmented with little fall out and you get .15oz/4.5g which is excellent.
My only concern is that this product is made in China and I have issues with the standard in which China manufactures their products, so it makes me slightly uneasy as to how these eyeshadows can be so inexpensive and what steps are being skipped in order to make them that low price.

If you like any of the colours you have seen here today check out a local store near you such as Walmart and now NYC is being carried at SHOPPERS DRUG MART as well.

MAKE UP FOR EVER ARTISAN BRUSH #128 PRECISION POWDER BRUSH

****THE FOLLOWING BRUSH WAS SENT TO ME BY MAKE UP FOR EVER FOR CONSIDERATION AND REVIEW, ALL THOUGHTS ARE MY OWN BASED ON MY PERSONAL USE**** THANK YOU MAKE UP FOR EVER:)

There is a lot of buzz surrounding the impending release of the new Make Up For Ever Artisan Brush Collection, and rightfully so. This is not your average run of the mill collection, this is serious brush business. We are talking not 25, not even 50 brushes, we are talking a whopping 76 brushes WOW.

The brushes will range from standard collection brushes suitable for everyday use to more innovative brushes that will likely be showing up in many pro cases upon their release.

Dany Sanz over saw a five year production to bring this beautiful eye catching collection to life. She was afforded the opportunity to meet with renowned brush manufacturer "Raphael" located on the stunning Mauritius island. This is where the magic and construction took place in 25 stages to complete, with an intense involvement of 30 people to lovingly hand-craft each brush start to finish.
This collection truly is a labour of love.

The end result are brushes that look like art in them self. Richly dyed beech wood handles, a ferrule made from a gunmetal barrel and the best part the brushes are synthetic for those looking for cruelty free options. I find the #128 brush to be incredibly soft, yet I am comparing it to what I already have on hand, which I for one don't own a lot of other high end brushes to compare to. However my skin is very sensitive to brushes and if they are not good quality my skin recognizes that right away. I can't stand a brush that feels like its poking you in the face as you use it. That is not the case here these synthetic bristles mimic the true buttery softness you would find with real hair. However there is some debate that not all the brushes in the collection feel that way, especially after washing. I cannot agree or disagree with this claim as I am only going on my experience with 1 of 75 other brushes.

My thoughts on the 128 brush alone is that its fairly dense, but not overly ridged which you don't want for an all over powder brush any way. I love the truly chic aesthetically pleasing look of this collection which also feels very tribal to me. I find the brush picks up pressed and loose powder nicely due impart from the mix of straight and wavy bristles that balance out your overall application of product. I like the weightiness of the brush in my hand, I have used very light weight brushes that have flown across the room because they are so light and that is not cool. You want makeup on your face, not the walls.

Also the handles have a beveled end to make for easier retrieval and can be used to get those false lashes in place and on point.

The collection is broken up in a simplified way that is easy comprehension
100s-Complexion
200s-Eyes
300s-Lips
400s- Artistic for creative work by pro artists

I will be taking a look at the collection in further detail when it arrives in store.

If your a pro MUA or just looking to splurge on a high end collection for your own personal use be sure to check out the release of Make Up For Ever's "ARTISAN BRUSH COLLECTION" arriving in September.

"The brush is an extension of the hand and is a fundamental tool for a makeup artist, whether he/she is a professional or amateur mua, his/her canvas is the face" - Dany Sanz

Select brushes will be available at Sephora stores
ALL brushes will be available at

ANNA SUI EYE COLOUR CRAYON'S & DOUBLE EYE COLOR SHADOW PENS

Today we are going to take a look at Anna Sui's "Eye Color Crayon's" which are basically a self sharpening eye colour that will add shimmer and dimension to any eye look. These eye crayons are created with a "STAY FIT OIL" so they wear seamlessly all day.

The first colour is 900- This is a nice aquatic blue with a gorgeous shimmer sure to make the eyes pop. You can wear this alone or with your favorite eyeshadow combination.

It almost looks more minty under the light, but I assure you it's a richer blue as you will see in the next picture

This is definitely a great colour for those warm sunny days at the beach. If you like to wear a bit of colour to the beach you can wear it confidently knowing it will stay on even if you go in the water.

The next colour is more dramatic and will work great for a late night out dancing and give you that sexy smokey glimmer to the eye. This is #002

This colour has some what of a duochrome finish. It appears black, but the flash is an inky purple tone that is quite nice because it's a step up from the norm of just the basic black kohl look.
The only downside to these color crayons is when its time to take it off you will notice significant shimmer left behind on the skin. You may have to work at it a little more to get it all off.
However for the lover of all things shimmer I do recommend these as they do have nice colour payoff and the staying power is excellent. Also the colour selection itself is decent.

You get 1.5g/.05oz for between $20-30 depending on where you shop.

Next up is the "DOUBLE EYE COLOR." This is a dual ended pen style product that offers two complimentary eye shadows in a travel friendly application. You can blend, define and line with this product and give your eyes beautiful washes of colour.

As you can see these colours are bright and richly pigmented. The one pen comes with the pink and pearl white and the other is the yellow and mint.
The mint colour has quickly become a favorite of mine and seems to apply the easiest out of all the colours. All though the pink swatched well I find it a challenge to apply to the eye and get the colour amped up.
The mint colour reminds me of a softer version of NARS larger than life eyeliner called "Barrow Street."

However for the amount that you pay there is very little product in these duo's coming in at a mere
0.8g/.02oz and your looking at $30-35 OUCH! big price, small amount of product. Don't get me wrong the colours are lovely and if your in a position to purchase these then go for it, I for one would not pay that for any eyeliner or shadow especially when you don't get much and there are so many equally great products out there for a fraction of the price.

So I hope you discovered a product here today that you may want to try and I hope your all enjoying the beginning's of your summer. Thanks for reading.

Stay tuned as part 3 of my Anna Sui haul continues with Lip products coming soon to

MILANI COSMETICS LIPSTICKS, GLOSS, LIP CRAYON AND BRONZER

Originally when I placed this order I thought I had a variety of items, only to discover that its mostly lip products. So if your a big fan of lip goodies then keep reading.

All the Milani items I ordered are from WELL.CA.

The first item is the LIP FLASH full coverage shimmer gloss pencil. This pencil is amazing you look at it on and would think it came from a lipstick tube, but no it's a crayon. The colour is 05 HOT FLASH. This is a true sexy red that leaves a wet look to the lips.

You can see this colour on my lips if you check out my INSTAGRAM by clicking on the link in the side bar.

The next item is the CRYSTAL GLOSS FOR LIPS in the colour SUMMER BABY. This is such a pretty soft pink with a beautiful fine gold shimmer. This is almost identical to PAUL & JOE'S lip gloss, part of the lip and eye duo called Santa Monica. The only difference is Paul & Joe's is a hair lighter. You can also get a similar colour from Mac called Nymphette

However all these colours are similar but not in price. The Milani is only $5.50, Mac runs $15 and on the higher end Paul & Joe's lip and eye duo is $34. At least there is options here for every budget which is nice.

The next two items are Milani's colour perfect lipsticks.

For summer I am a huge fan of the bright and bold, so after viewing colour swatches on line at WELL.CA I decided to go with #23 MANGO MAMBO. This is a rich orange red colour that is not for the faint of heart, you will stop traffic with this lip colour.

The next colour is #07 ROSE HIP. This lipstick is such a staggering bright pink your friends may need to wear sunglasses. This is a deep delicious pink reminiscent of that of the skin on the magical dragon fruit. So if your looking for a bright exotic pink to wear this summer grab yourself some "Rose Hip."

Milani lipsticks do have fragrance in them that is noticeable, so beware if your sensitive to fragrant cosmetics. They are 3.74g and are only $5.29 at Well.Ca.

The very last item today is the BAKED BRONZER in the shade SOLEIL. This is a very nice bronzer, however it does have a noticeable shimmer to it compare to other's I have tried. Which in the world of bronzer you either love it or hate it. I don't mind it, but I prefer something warmer and more natural. The compact is fairly nice and has an extra compartment that houses a small brush and a handy mirror, similar to that of Physicians Formula. Great for throwing into your bag for on the go touch ups.

So if your looking for a fun, sunny, affordable bronzer check out Milani Baked Bronzer today. It also has no scent which is nice and may be more ideal for those who have sensitive skin.
This bronzer is 7g and was $12.99 and comes in two other shades which are GLOW & GOLDEN

I hope you all enjoyed this review and maybe you too will find products to love from Milani.

I find these products to be good quality and very affordable. I just wish they were sold more readily in Canadian big box stores. However if you live in Canada and want to purchase Milani products then check out

Any order within Canada over $25 is always free shipping excluding remote locations

MAYBELLINE FIT ME FOUNDATION STICK AND LIMITED EDITION SEQUINS NAIL POLISH

Hi to all,

Maybelline has really been pumping out the products this past few months and most of them have been quite good. Today we will look at Maybelline's FIT ME foundation stick and see how it lives up to it's claim.

The shade I chose is #130 BUFF BEIGE. This foundation stick reminds me a lot of a lighter weight version of Max Factor's PAN STICK, which to me was a phenomenal product. So moving a long the things I do like about this foundation is due to the anti-shine core the product glides on effortlessly and blends out beautifully.

I find this product is very dual purpose. I don't know that I would personally wear this and this alone, but I find to conceal blemishes and use under eyes its great.

So I have tested this on my entire face and I did notice that I still had shine in my t-zone and after a few hours of wear it does streak a bit from sweating. I generally have very oily skin, so no matter what foundation I use be it high or low end the end result is always the same, shiny and slick. That's even with setting powder and so on.
However what I find has worked is using the foundation stick in problem areas and then applying my regular foundation over top and I do see that it overall gives a fairly nice flawless complexion.

I would say no matter what or how you use this product that touch ups will be in order if you have oily skin.
I must like this product regardless because I do still keep reaching for it.
I have however had a slight break out recently over my nose and I hope it's not this stick. Sometimes an ingredient in mattifying products tend to make me break out. I will keep testing and see what happens. I will try to follow up soon.

Overall I give Maybelline's new FIT ME foundation stick a 8/10. I think for someone like me I will really see the benefits of this stick come the cooler months when my face is less apt to being so oily.

The last two items I wanted to share are the Maybelline Limited Edition Sequin's nail polish. Again I picked glitter and was cursing the whole way to the check out knowing the ridiculous battle I would be dealing with trying to get it back off. Sadly the pretty glitter and colour won me over and landed in my basket, staring up at me laughing and saying "HAHA sucker you fell for our prettiness and sparkle yet again" **SIGH**

The first colour is a blueish/purple glitter with larger hot pink glitter throughout and that one is called SAPPHIRE MASQUERADE, the second one is a rose gold pink glitter with larger glitter that again is hot pink and also in this one iridescent its called ROSE BLING.

I sadly think I just love glitter, but maybe not so much nail polish. I think I will be toning down how many polishes I buy in the future. I am always busy with other things and don't really have a lot of time to dedicate to fussing over my nails. Now that summer is here I especially don't have time and my nails are really short for now. So unless your a person who diligently does your nails with perfection and are afforded the time to do so, I say skip the sparkle.

The thing that surprises me most with glitter polish is that no matter what it still chips just like any other polish and yet its so darn hard to get off, go figure.

Each polish is 7ml and was $2.97 at Walmart in Canada

Thanks for reading and come back soon
