NYC HD TRIO EYESHADOWS

Hi everyone,

I have to admit that as of late I find myself not drawn to many products I am seeing at the drug store and big box store level there hasn't been a whole lot of new items at least not near where I live.

However at my last visit to Walmart I noticed three hd color trio eye shadow's by NYC. I thought the colours would be nice for fall and it said new on the signage so I thought I would give them a go.

The first trio is called 790 CONCRETE JUNGLE the highlighter shade is a pearlescent white followed up with a deep rich saturated navy blue for all over the lid and the crease colour is a shimmery silver that blends well with the blue.

I find that once applied to the skin the silver takes on some what of a taupe feel especially once blended with the blue. All though the blue looks very shimmery in the pan it actually seems more matte once applied to the eye and blended out.

Next up is 789 WEST VINTAGE which is a combination of a light minty green for highlighting, a jewel toned grape/plum purple and a beautiful intense emerald green.

These are really beautiful colours that totally get me in the mood for fall and the colour payoff for all the trio's are pretty impressive for how inexpensive they are. I highly recommend them especially for those on a budget.

Last trio is URBAN SPICE this is my favorite of the three trio's because I can see myself using this regularly because they are colours suitable for any occasion. The highlight is a creamy champagne light beige followed with a another rich green that I feel is a true forest green. The last shade is a gorgeous peachy rose gold that could also be used as a blush. The colours work seamlessly together to create a stunning warm look on the eyes.

I do enjoy these eyeshadow's as with many others I own. I look forward to seeing what else NYC comes out with in the near future. Again for the price of $3.27 each you can't go wrong. The colours are rich and pigmented with little fall out and you get .15oz/4.5g which is excellent.
My only concern is that this product is made in China and I have issues with the standard in which China manufactures their products, so it makes me slightly uneasy as to how these eyeshadows can be so inexpensive and what steps are being skipped in order to make them that low price.

If you like any of the colours you have seen here today check out a local store near you such as Walmart and now NYC is being carried at SHOPPERS DRUG MART as well.

Thanks everyone for reading

NYC NAIL POLISH

The days seem to be flying by here we are and the week end is almost over, what gives?

Any way hope you have all had a good week-end.

Today will be the first of a two part review on NYC (New York Color) cosmetics. I was going to do it all in one shot but it would be way to long.

So for this lovely Sunday afternoon I will be talking about a few new colours from the NYC long wear nail polish line and two of the "In a New York minute" fast dry nail polish.

Nail Polish here we come.....

Starting with the long wear we have

142 Preppy Pink this is a nice coral pink colour that will look great with a tan and/or done with a white French manicure tip.

I use to not be much of a fan of anything pink, but as of late it has been creeping into my routines more and more. Great one day I will be a tanned old lady with pink nail polish and a mauve wash in my hair lol. As long as my breasts don't end up like the woman's in "Something about Mary"

Next in the nail polish parade is 144 Wine Bar, great is this the colour we are suppose to wear as we are getting trashed. It will be that scenario "Wow that woman is totally wasted." "Yeah but did you see those amazing nails of hers, I think that's the colour wine bar" go figure.

Kidding aside I do really like this colour its that kind of sexy red that will look great against that little black dress for a night out on the town.

Alright so this colour is by far my favorite out of all the one's I am going over today. 147 Lexington Lilac
This is the most beautiful muted light purple and it just seamlessly goes with everything and is a great everyday colour. I plan to get another couple of bottles in case they stop making it which seems to be a problem I often face with beloved products.
Its funny because I never use to wear nail polish at all except in the summer on my toes. I also never grew longer nails always kept them really short. How was I living like this????

Moving right a long we have 148 Fuchsia Glamour. Now when you look at this picture tell me who the heck thought of calling this Fuchsia Glamour??? This should have been called baby doll or pink tutu or liquid bubble gum or something other then what it is. It is the palest pink with a very fine feminine sparkle laced through it. This would be very nice as a top coat for a wedding manicure. Its a little to light for my liking, but I have other ways of working it.

Now this is the last one for the long wear and it has similar features to the one above but this time its a baby blue with fine sparkle and I love this its like truly wearing a piece of the sky or a robins egg shell on my nails. 151 Skyline Blue. Just looking at this colour makes me happy and also makes me think of diving into water or a bag of Easter candy for that matter lol

So in conclusion I am very happy with these nail polishes. They are fun colours and will be useful all year long. Now here is the part that's even better. As you can see I am wearing samples of the polish and incredibly it only takes two coats to achieve that level of coverage. The other added bonus these are a full size bottle 0.45fl oz/13.3ml and they are ONLY $1.27 at Canadian Walmart and I believe .99 on the NYC website. WOW what a great bargain.
I also would like to add that I do a lot of cleaning and dishes etc. and it really does last.
I am not talking out my ass because I also have owned in the past as well as now OPI,  China Glaze and other high end polishes and these NYC colours are just as good.
For added staying power with any nail polish always add in a top coat.

2 more polishes to go and these are the "In a New York minute" polishes which also offer great shades and staying power, but the added advantage of drying really quick.

First is the colour 238 MoMa which to me this is truly a fuchsia and its a rich flat colour with a lot of shine if that makes any sense.

Lastly is the colour 270 Sidewalkers which is a light grey and I love this. So unique and very different then anything I have owned in terms of nail polish. I can totally see this pairing well with a nice ladies business suit and its a very classy mature colour that doesn't come off like a silly little girls nail polish (Not to say those aren't a lot of fun too) but there is a time and place for everything even with nail polish.

In a New York minute comes in a vast range of colours and actually is a smaller bottle then the long wear at 0.33 fl oz/9.7ml and they are a tad more at 1.77 to 1.99 depending on where you purchase yours. I guess you pay more because it dries faster.

So in the long wear line there is about 27 colours to choose from which if you bought them all that would be about $35 which is peanuts considering if you buy 3 OPI it will be that much.

In the New York minute colours there are 34 shades that are all amazing as well.

So as mentioned this was a first of two parts for NYC cosmetic reviews, come back soon to see my follow up review on other products I have tried and sadly not everything is as wonderful as the nail polish.....
