***NEW*** NEW YORK COLOR EXPERT LAST LIP COLOR

Welcome back all,

New York Color is releasing this month in Canada a new range of lip colors, part of their Expert Last collection. I got a hold of 4 colours and wanted to share them with you all.
L2R-Smooch, Forever Fuchsia, Air Kiss, Blue Rose
So what is the promise from these new Expert Last lipsticks??? They will moisturize, feel comfortable on the lips and are longwearing, at about 6 hours. There is a good colour selection for varying tastes as well.

404 AIR KISS-  A delicious crimson red/pink like petals on a rose

405 BLUE ROSE- This to me is a deep pink fuchsia with very cool purple/blue base tones. This particular lipstick has a more iridescent finish, where as the rest of them are cream.

446 SMOOCH- I was a little worried this next colour was going to turn out to be a more of a  orange nude, but I am pleasantly surprised and this is my second favourite of all four colours. It turned out to be a very gentle pink  nude.

447 FOREVER FUCHSIA- This is an all out insane 80's hot pink lipstick. I am extremely impressed with the pigmentation of this and all the other lipsticks I am showing here today. I love this colour and it works well with my complexion. I would love to see some girls of colour rocking this shade, it would be magic.

I wore "Forever Fuchsia" for New Years and it lasted a very long time even through drinking. As the lipstick wore off it left an amazing stain on my lips, which made me love the product even more. However I wouldn't say the stain left behind is true to the actual lipstick colour, but pretty no less. So YES these really do last and I highly recommend them.

The other thing that I like is the bottom of the lipstick tube coordinates to the colour of the product and is pretty accurate. Also the cap is clear which allows for a very clear view of the product itself, with little to no guessing games.

I would also like to point out that for the staying power, creaminess and colour payoff you can't go wrong here for the price point of $2

Hope you all pick up at least one of these to try, I don't believe you will be disappointed.

ARE YOU IMPRESSED WITH WHAT YOU SAW HERE TODAY???? WHICH COLOUR IS YOUR FAVOURITE. ANYONE ELSE PICK THESE UP IN OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD???

WOW! ON THE VOLUME FACTOR NYC BIG BOLD CURL MASCARA and BIG BOLD PLUMPING GLOSS

****THIS IS TO DISCLOSE THAT THE FOLLOWING ITEM WAS SENT TO ME FROM INFLUENSTER IN THE NEW CANADIAN "MAPLE VOX BOX" FOR REVIEW AND TESTING PURPOSES**** ALL MY OPINIONS STILL REMAIN MY OWN.

New York Color cosmetics are a very affordable and decent quality makeup line, that is totally accessible for any budget. I have tried many products from this brand and I really enjoy the Big Bold Plumping glosses as well. The colour I received in the Maple Vox Box is BIG CITY BLUSH, plus I have 2 other colours that I bought several months ago when they first came out.

The mascara I received in the "Maple Vox Box" was quite a surprise. I feel it does a nice job of adding volume and overall making the lashes more noticeable and fluffy. My only complaint is that you will get raccoon eyes if you get wet or sweat, etc. I would like to see this one day offered up in a waterproof formula and more colour choices. I also love the oversized curved brush it does a very nice job separating the lashes and making them more apparent.

THIS BRUSH IS HUGE

I say for $4.99 CAD and 12ml of product it is a good mascara, I probably wouldn't pay anymore then that based on its overall staying power.
I am glad I had the chance to try this product out as I actually have never bought an NYC mascara before and its been fun experiencing something new.

Here is the completed look using both the mascara and the gloss

THE ONLY COLOUR AVAILABLE FOR THIS PARTICULAR MASCARA IS EXTREME BLACK

NYC HD TRIO EYESHADOWS

Hi everyone,

I have to admit that as of late I find myself not drawn to many products I am seeing at the drug store and big box store level there hasn't been a whole lot of new items at least not near where I live.

However at my last visit to Walmart I noticed three hd color trio eye shadow's by NYC. I thought the colours would be nice for fall and it said new on the signage so I thought I would give them a go.

The first trio is called 790 CONCRETE JUNGLE the highlighter shade is a pearlescent white followed up with a deep rich saturated navy blue for all over the lid and the crease colour is a shimmery silver that blends well with the blue.

I find that once applied to the skin the silver takes on some what of a taupe feel especially once blended with the blue. All though the blue looks very shimmery in the pan it actually seems more matte once applied to the eye and blended out.

Next up is 789 WEST VINTAGE which is a combination of a light minty green for highlighting, a jewel toned grape/plum purple and a beautiful intense emerald green.

These are really beautiful colours that totally get me in the mood for fall and the colour payoff for all the trio's are pretty impressive for how inexpensive they are. I highly recommend them especially for those on a budget.

Last trio is URBAN SPICE this is my favorite of the three trio's because I can see myself using this regularly because they are colours suitable for any occasion. The highlight is a creamy champagne light beige followed with a another rich green that I feel is a true forest green. The last shade is a gorgeous peachy rose gold that could also be used as a blush. The colours work seamlessly together to create a stunning warm look on the eyes.

I do enjoy these eyeshadow's as with many others I own. I look forward to seeing what else NYC comes out with in the near future. Again for the price of $3.27 each you can't go wrong. The colours are rich and pigmented with little fall out and you get .15oz/4.5g which is excellent.
My only concern is that this product is made in China and I have issues with the standard in which China manufactures their products, so it makes me slightly uneasy as to how these eyeshadows can be so inexpensive and what steps are being skipped in order to make them that low price.

If you like any of the colours you have seen here today check out a local store near you such as Walmart and now NYC is being carried at SHOPPERS DRUG MART as well.

Thanks everyone for reading

ESSENCE VINTAGE DISTRICT COLLECTION

Good morning makeup lovers,

Today is all about the new collection by Essence called "Vintage District." This was only just put out this past week end by my local Shoppers Drug Mart.
So even though I know other areas have already reviewed the products I thought I would give you my view on what is considered new here for us Canadians.

Now I should let you know that there was a total of five different nail polishes in this collection which I went back to get three of them and they were all sold out:(. There was a coral, peach and blue. I noticed online there is also a silver tone in nail polish and eyesahdow and gel liner but my location never got those items at all or a clear coat polish.

Let's go now and take a walk through the VINTAGE DISTRICT.

First of two eye shadows is a very trendy peachy orange color that will be most suitable for spring and summer this year. This is quickly becoming a hot must have of the season. This color is called I'M SO RETRO the thing with these single shadow pans is they have an ikat type pattern with other colors running through so each tone compliments the other when mixed together to give you the perfect eye color. I actually wore this color over the week end and have had a few compliments on the bright burst of color across my lids. Actually the cosmetician where I purchased this liked it so much she was planning to buy it at days end.

I'M SO RETRO

Now if you want to add that extra pop and really have stand out eyes just do a duo tone with I'm so retro and this fantastic blue color called PORTOBELLO ROAD. This is a blue that is very pigmented when pact on the eye lid and has an ever so slight green undertone. If you want to have eyes that speak this seasons hottest tones then these single pans are a must have in your makeup collection.
PORTOBELLO ROAD

I actually am very curious to see how these will play out if I do a more dramatic version using them wet. I am certain my eyes will be total gems.
Portobello Road & I'm So Retro

As I mentioned in a previous post about Essence products the eyeshadow pans are extremely generous in size coming in at .08oz/2.46g and were only $2.49 each

I have been hearing so much about gel liner, but most of them are a bit pricey. So till now I have never bought any. In this line they have two gel liners but my store only carried the one color which was also called PORTOBELLO ROAD like the eyeshadow. The other color is a silver tone.
So do in part with price and the gorgeous bright color is what swayed me to give this one a go. It is a perfect companion to wear with the I'm so Retro eyeshadow which I have done and it looks amazing.

This swatch is one application very good pigmentation

This set comes with a small professional applicator brush and the product it self comes in a very nice small frosted glass jar with metal lid. It is .12oz/3.5g and I paid $3.99.
The overall presentation of this item is very nicely done and I adore the color and its staying power. I noticed that it didn't feather or smear on the eye during several hours of wear.

This next product is a great item to throw in your bag on sunny days on the go. It is the duo lipstick and gloss in the color VINTAGE PEACH. Upon opening the lipstick you think WOW this is a crazy bright orange and question "Can I pull this off?" However it is not as intimidating as it seems it applies very sheer with just the right hit of color on the lips. If you want to give it a little extra kick just top it with the matching gloss attached on the other end. The gloss applies smoothly and has no stickiness.

Gloss
This is a very fun versatile product and hope you get the chance to try it where ever you are.
The lipstick is .14oz/4g and the gloss is .10floz/3ml So a great amount of product for a super great price of $3.49. My only complaint with this item is the staying power isn't great and I did have to reapply a few times through the day, but that won't stop me from using this chic color. Again the cosmetician at the store loved the way it looked on she decided to buy the last one. Obviously I am doing a great job promoting this collection lol.

Last but not least my favorite buy of the day is the Blush in this collection called IT'S POPUL-ART.
Not only is this beautiful and can be used as blush and highlighter, but it is such a feast for the eyes a total compact of beauty. I could not believe this intricate beauty was such an affordable price. I am in LOVE.

There are a lot of companies that have done floral embossed compacts especially as of late, but the difference here is the price.
This compact is .31oz/9g and only cost $3.49 which is a staggering difference for something produced buy a higher end company. I realize formulations also play a big role, but Essence has never failed in that area for me any way. I understand people are different and we all have favorite brands. We should never judge cosmetics by their price point you might miss something wonderful assuming that because its a cheaper that it makes it cheaper quality. That is not always the case.
