SALLY HANSEN TRIPLE SHINE NAIL COLOR

Hi everyone,

Today I wanted to share a couple of Triple Shine Sally Hansen polishes that were gifted to me over the holidays. One polish is a satin finish and the other is a thick chunky glitter.

LETS LOOK AT THE TWO POLISHES SIDE BY SIDE

Make Waves- Is a gorgeous multidimensional colour that is blue based, but has many facets in different light. Colours I see when moving around the bottle of polish are green, yellow and pinky purple. There is super fine glitter dust mixed in there as well, but its not apparent unless you look really closely. The brush applicator on these polishes are very similar to that of Wet n Wilds Megalast polish, which is great because the brush covers the nail surface pretty much in one shot.

Sparks Fly- When I look at this the first thing that comes to mind is effervescent bubbles, like sparkling water. This polish has a clear blue gel base with fine silver glitter and large silver hex confetti. I think this is an amazing polish. The picture here is with 3 coats, so it is totally wearable on its own.

I think I may also try this over top "Make Waves" that will be an interesting combo.

I can't say how well these wear long term, I have not had a chance to try it out as of yet. I will hopefully update at a later time. Until then I have heard good things about the wearability of these polishes and that they definitely hold there own up against some higher end salon brands.

Just to update- I did wear "sparks fly" on New Years and it performed well for me personally, but normally you can count on glitter polish not to budge. However I have yet to try "Make Waves" and see how it works out. I have now read several mixed reviews about this line of polishes which leads me to believe no two colours in the collection are created equal. The main complaint I have heard is its not shiny enough and doesn't have good staying power. So beware when making your colour selection.

Be sure to check out this extensive collection from Sally Hansen at a store near you

HAVE YOU TRIED ANY OF THE TRIPLE SHINE POLISHES FROM SALLY HANSEN??

THANKS FOR READING XOXO:)

Broadway Nails imPRESS press-on manicure

As you all know from previous posts I really enjoy the Broadway Nails imPRESS press on manicure.

I think these nails are a nice affordable option in place of getting acrylics done at a salon, also they are far less damaging to your natural nail bed.

I love the variety of styles, designs and colours available and can be readily picked up at my local Walmart for about $10. However the set I am showing you today was sent to me for review by Influenster.

This set is a black lacquer base with a silver glitter crackle finish its called "WORKING GIRL", I like it, but don't love it. I have had other designs I prefer more and I never really fell in love with the crackle polish craze.

Easy to follow application instructions clearly marked on the back of the package for first time user convenience.
You also get a total of 24 nails which come in varying sizes to accommodate various nail shapes and widths. Also extras can be used to replace any that may need it with time and prolonged use.

I do a lot of cooking, cleaning and various other tasks and find it can be taxing on these manicures. I find at times the nails have started popping off within a few hours. So to resolve this problem I just add an extra dab of nail glue for longer hold.

I also like to repurpose the container the nails came in to hold push pin, paper clips and various other bits and bobs because the idea of a nail polish bottle is cute and the smooth fronts are perfect for labelling.

You can see my other review on my various imPRESS nail sets here IMPRESS REVIEW

HOPE YOU HAVE ENJOYED THIS REVIEW AND WILL BE CHECKING OUT THE SELECTION OF BROADWAY NAILS AT A STORE NEAR YOU.

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS IF YOU HAVE ANY IMPRESS NAILS??

THANKS FOR READING EVERYONE

XOXO

"ALL THAT GLITZ" CHECK OUT THE OPI MISS UNIVERSE COLLECTION

Hello everyone,

So today on my blog I will be sharing with you the OPI Miss Universe Collection. I feel that this post is a bit bittersweet as the terms in which I received these polishes wasn't at it's finest. That's why I have not posted this till now because I almost was not going to bother reviewing them. Any way no less here we are, so lets get on with it.

There are three colours offered two are purples and one is a satin finish (no top coat)

Lets take a look

I'M FEELING SASHY- Is a sophisticated muted lavender with a subtle grey undertone.

MISS YOU-NIVERSE- This is a super delicious dark purple that is verging black when not in direct light. Keep in mind when working with really dark colours application must be more precise (which mine is clearly not) other wise every imperfection shows and it just looks messy.

THIS GOWN NEEDS A CROWN- This stunning new offering from OPI is a satin finish "no top coat" nail polish that is a very shimmery silver that will have your nails looking "Bling Beautiful" for the holidays.

Also I am not sure what the point is but the little crown charm is very sassy. Out of all the polishes this one is my favourite because I really love the finish, it's like a milder version of liquid sands. For those of you that have been around for a while you all know how much I love the liquid sands line.

As always I feel OPI is good quality polish, but I do feel that there are polishes out there of comparable quality for a fraction of the cost for those on a budget. I have never once finished an entire bottle of nail polish so I don't know how necessary it is to have a large collection of full size bottles. As I expressed in a previous post I wish more companies would bring out entire collections more in mini sizes and cut their prices. That to me seems more practical.

Be sure to check out more from OPI at their website

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THIS COLLECTION??

TILL THEN...

STAY BEAUTIFUL XO

SINFUL COLORS LIMITED EDITION HALLOWEEN NAIL POLISH

Hi to all,

Todays blog is on the nail polish line Sinful Colors which are starting to pop around select Canadian stores.

I happen to be at a nearby Rexall/Pharmaplus store and they had a few limited edition Halloween polishes available. However I did find out more colours will be available from the permanent line.

The two limited edition colours are COURTNEY ORANGE and PUMPKIN SPICE

Courtney Orange is a true bold satin finish orange polish that will also work for the summer months as well and would look amazing against tanned skin and paired with white sandals. As for its use in our current Fall season I think some cute pumpkin, ghost and witch nail jewels would be super awesome to top off this colour, or even make some jack-o-lantern faces with black nail art polish. You could even do some black crackle polish over top if you don't want to do anything to complicated.

Pumpkin Spice is a red and gold sparkle polish that will surely add flare to your Halloween manicure if your looking to jazz up all your nails or just your accent one. As you can see I did a couple of coats over the orange polish which looks great as well.

In my eyes Sinful Colors bottles look very similar to both OPI and China Glaze and work quite well and have good rich opacity as with some high end nail polishes. However the bonus with Sinful Colors is that they are totally affordable for all budgets. In Canada they run about $3.

I am looking forward to discovering more from Sinful Colours and seeing their full colour range up close and in person.

Any good witch loves some pretty potions for her nails

Hope you can find these limited edition beauties near you

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS WHAT YOUR FAVOURITE COLOURS BY SINFUL COLORS ARE???

Also check out Sinful Colors website as well

till next time my fellow nail polish crazies

"NAILS IN THE COFFIN" LETS TALK WET N WILD FANTASY MAKERS NAIL POLISH

Hi everyone,

To start over the next few days I will be posting several reviews on fun funky makeup products that are packaged for Halloween, but to me can be used anytime really.

So today lets take a look at Fantasy Makers by Wet N Wild nail polishes.

As soon as I saw these I was totally sold first and for most on the awesome packaging idea which is the bottles of polish look like tombstones, great idea.

There are six colours in all, but in Canada only 4 of those are available and I picked up three. That's why I love Fantasy Makers and Wet N Wild you get a great bang for your buck, nothing is over priced and if you want to pick up an entire collection you can because its easy on the wallet.

Starting from the left is a bright pumpkin orange colour called GHOULS RUSH IN If you love bold bright colours then this will work for you now and anytime even after Halloween. It would even be great for summer as well. Always remember "Think outside the box."

Then the middle polish is my fave, it goes on like a clear coat, but is totally awesome because it GLOWS IN THE DARK. Its called GO WITH THE GLOW. If you hold your nails under a light for about 30seconds it gives off a great glow, and trust me not all glow products are created equal. I have had this in the past and some how this is always a nail polish that goes missing from my stash?!?!?

Lastly is none other then the infamous Fantasy Maker's black polish which was the very first black polish I bought with my allowance when I was about 12. For those that don't know I have always had a soft spot for the dark and macabre and Halloween is second to Christmas for my favourite holidays. I think it should be an official holiday or at least the day after because who the heck wants to go to work or school after a fun night like Halloween that these past few years has been landing right in the middle of the week which sucks. This black is called DARKEST HOUR. I always appreciate seeing this items return year after year because this is a long lived tradition in my books.

The colour I did not pick up was a metallic silver and I may still grab it this week because that would be nice as well for Christmas nail looks.
Also on the Fantasy Makers sub-site there is two other polishes I did not see at the store near me and maybe exclusive to the US only.

I find the quality of the polish is on par with Wet N Wilds regular polishes and call it what you want, give it a pseudonym like Fantasy Makers, its still WNW.
That being said you can be sure the colour payoff and quality you expect is there and the bottles are super spooktacular at 10ml for $2 you'll want to get some before they disappear;)

LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE MEMORIES OF FANTASY MAKERS PRODUCTS. DO YOU PICK UP ITEMS FROM THESE COLLECTIONS EACH YEAR??

THANKS FOR HANGING AROUND AND READING AND

STAY GHOSTLY GLAMOROUS

Just a quick update I did go back to the store and picked up the silver polish which is called "ONCE UPON A TIME". I am actually really glad I did get this because the opacity of this polish is amazing and can very well be used for many other year round looks. I am thinking new years bling nails;)

Hope you all get some

L'OREAL ***TRENDSETTER NAIL POLISH COLLECTION***

Today brought an unexpected surprise. I finally received my L'Oreal colour riche nail trendsetter collection. I know it's hard to recall but I did mention in a previous post that I won these. However that was at the end of March. Enough about that.

I am in love with this collection because it's all the colours I currently have been gravitating to which is bright and bold.

This collection consists of 6 colours and are as follows

NEW MONEY a bright lime or avocado green that will have your nails matching that summer margarita in your hand a truly thirst quenching colour

ORANGE YOU JEALOUS? This colour evokes the thoughts of beautiful orange blossoms in full bloom or that favorite summer dress you've been longing to wear. How about that intense sunset while on a romantic evening beach walk. Even the colour makes you think of the sweet delicious taste of a farm picked peach.

NOT A CLOUD IN SIGHT, yes it makes me also think about wide open skies of blue and the moment where the sky meets the ocean line. I love when there is "not a cloud in sight" because then clearly the sky is the limit.

MEMBERS ONLY This is truly the girlie girls pink its rich a little darker but still bright and uber feminine like pink roses. Paired with a tank top and a cardigan of the same pink colour and a pair of white capri's, and a nice pair of sandals this colour polish tops off the entire look, chic and pretty.

CRAZY FOR CHIC This is the perfect colour to wear with that favorite LBD (Little Black Dress), and if you don't have one then this is the time to get one. Also this colour will look amazing against tanned skin. It will not only enhance your golden glow, but make the polish stand out even more

ROYALTY REINVENTED As soon as I looked at this colour all I could think is "LILACS" beautiful, fragrant and one of my favorite flowers. The other thing this colour makes me think of is purple cotton candy and fun at the summer carnival

All these lovely colours work for Spring and will comfortably carry you right on through to the end of summer. I really like L'Oreal's nail polish colour range and for the most part it has decent staying power. However for someone like me no matter the nail polish regardless of price I have to either touch up constantly or I am just better off switching up the colour all together, which is what I do.

Try out this TRENDSETTER COLLECTION soon, a must have for nail polish aficionado's everywhere.

or

You can also find L'Oreal products at most large chain stores and drug stores.

Thanks for reading and...

STAY BEAUTIFUL

More coming to MakeUp'Asylum soon
