MAKE UP FOR EVER "TEASE ME" BERRY LIP TRIO

MAKE UP FOR EVER & FIFTY SHADES OF GREY

In 18 days millions of hardcore "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans will be clambering in to movie theaters every where for the highly anticipated erotic phenomenon and just in time for Valentines Day. With that in mind many ladies will be having a sultry date night with a loved one and will probably be getting a little more dressed up for the occasion then normal. Why not give one of these sexy lip trios a go from Make Up For Ever appropriately called the "TEASE ME" kits. There are two offerings a nude trio called Innocent and the set I am reviewing today called Passionate.

This is one of four exclusive sets for Make Up For Ever partnering with Fifty Shades of Grey and can be found at Sephora and Sephora.com

The lip trios specifically are $38 CAD

Before we start lets take a minute and daydream over this fine feast for the eyes
Jamie Dornan a.k.a. Christian Grey

and quite honestly nothing looks finer then a man in suit & tie
...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................Oooooo.K.! Now back to the real reason we are here, I think? which is to talk about lip gloss, liquid lipstick and so on. Boy! it's getting hot in here ;)

So the berry lip trio "Passionate" contains
Aqua lip 10C in matte Raspberry
Aqua rouge 50 in a limited edition new shade called "Clear"
Lab Shine lip gloss D4 Grenadine

Let's see some photo's first of the products in action

First up the Aqua lip 10C Matte Raspberry

I not only love this colour, but this is my first time trying a Make Up For Ever lip liner and it's amazing. Applies like a breeze, with no drag and very precise application. This lip pencil stays on FOR EVER and I mean FOR EVER, you want a lip pencil that will last all day and all night, then go get you some of this, it will not disappoint. Just be aware that removal can take some time, I am in shock how this will not budge. The only thing I would change is I would love to see these pencils in a self sharpening format which is always ideal. Then again what I have noticed with shelf sharpening pencils they tend to dry out quicker due to them being housed in plastic in most cases and air getting in around the product. Where as the wood surrounding the product actually helps to retain its moisture better till it's time to sharpen it.

AQUA ROUGE 50 (NEW SHADE) CLEAR

This colour is absolutely everything, I think it is actually perfect and creates such a luscious lip look, that makes the lips seem even more kissably hot. Every woman needs this in her life because it wears for an outrageous amount of time and you can kiss your lover and it won't smear all over them, well unless you want it to;)

I have reviewed the Aqua Rouge before and it is a really remarkable lip product and so good in fact you can even go for a late night romantic jaunt in the pool or the ocean if you will and it won't come off.

LAB SHINE LIP GLOSS D4 GRENADINE

For those of you that have read the Fifty Shades trilogy then you know why I opted to do a lip biting photo. The grenadine lab shine gloss is so pretty and really steps up the overall lip look. This gloss feels comfortable on the lip with a mild tackiness that helps hold it in place. For a lip gloss to last it does have to have a bit of that sticky feeling or you would be reapplying every hour. I love the smell of this product as well. If you gravitate to gloss with a lot of glitter then this will work well for you. However the glitter particles are not huge and obnoxious they really make the lips look shiny or wet in effect and very juicy.
The plus with a nice shiny gloss is it really helps make lips look fuller if that is something you struggle with, especially paired with that lusty berry red lip.

Overall I am really enjoying this set and it's versatile uses. The products can all be used individually or all mixed together. Its a great set for throwing in your makeup bag because it covers it all. Also the packaging is soft and flirty

NEW MUFE- MAKE UP FOR EVER ARTIST SHADOW

Welcome back all,

I hope everyone is enjoying the fall season so far, and with that make up lover's all over rejoice as many new collections land in stores and many drugstore shelves get their relines.

I am happy to bring to you today my thoughts on the new Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows. Two lovely colour's were sent to me for review purpose and I am forever grateful to still be occasionally reviewing for Make Up For Ever two years after I connected with them.

So let's get this on shall we!

In celebration of Make Up For Ever's 30th anniversary comes the powerful show stopping launch of the ultimate 210 highly pigmented eye shadows. If you love innovative products with effortless blendability and captivating colour pay off then keep reading.

Creative director Dany Sanz may have taken a full three years to bring this collection to life, but for make up artists, guru's, and novice it's definitely been worth the wait. The shadows have a breakthrough technology know as PIGMENT ATOMIZATION which put in simple terms means you will be getting the highest pigmentation on the market , maximizing colour by 88%. Water-blend technology is what creates this superior blendable product making application easier and cuts back on how long you have to blend.

Within this gorgeous range the numbering system is simple, based on finish and colour family within the colour wheel. You can expect to find matte, satin, iridescent and diamond finishes.
The best part is the shadows are completely customizable with options to purchase singles, duo's or a trio. What ever best fits your needs at a moments notice.

Lets take a closer look at the performance of these shadows, the two colours that were sent out to me are both from the blue family one is an Iridescent and the other Satin.

L2R- I-210 Light Turquoise (Iridescent)
S-226 Abyssal Blue (Satin)

The light turquoise has such a beautiful finish, which you will see in a moment. It is a beautiful icy tone that will work nicely on the center of the lid or you can even take it up a notch and do a one colour eye look and wing out that liner.

NO PRIMER WOW

Now believe me I think this shade is lovely, but my heart is in it for this Abyssal Blue. As soon as I swatched this beauty it made me that much more excited for fall. This is leaning indigo and is like that perfectly dyed pair of denim jeans, check it out!

Top swatch is no primer and this pic is with primer

I have to admit I was very excited to do an eye look to add to this post, but sadly I have been to darn sick, that is my only big complaint for this time of year is all the flu and sickies walking around hacking and sneezing on everything. Any way the texture of these shadows is phenomenal like "BUTTAH baby"

I find especially with blues they tend to be the most rich eyeshadows in collections and offer some of the best colour payoff. I love playing these shades of blue off my brown eyes because they compliment each other so seamlessly like water & earth.

Here is a swatch of the two colours blended together
These eyeshadow's are some of the easiest I have worked with in terms of blending, colour payoff and little to no fall out and believe me I got'alotta shadows;)

Lastly I also wanted to show case these shadows on paper to show you the varying finishes. Also how amazing these work on paper should you be working on a face chart and want to give them a go. These truly are an artist dream in every sense.

Another small thing I wanted to mention is the individual compacts have a nice substantial feel that is weighty in your hand, makes for a more luxe feel which I think in some areas can be a huge selling point. Simple but elegant design overall.

I being a person that not only loves makeup, but also art too was thrilled with the concept of this new eye shadow collection from Make Up For Ever and hope you will love it and give them a try.

You can try one for $25 a duo for $39 or a trio for $50

Available now at Sephora stores and online as well as MAKE UP FOR EVER boutiques

HAVE YOU TRIED THE NEW ARTIST SHADOWS YET??? LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS, I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR FEED BACK.

HOPE YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL, HAVE A GREAT DAY/NIGHT TO ALL
AND AS ALWAYS THANKS FOR READING

PHILOSOPHY THE BAKE SHOPPE GIFT SET

Back again for a second helping of gift sets from Philosophy

Today lets take a look at the gift set called "THE BAKE SHOPPE" which is a much more gourmand offering from its cousin "Snow Angel" which I covered in the last post.
In this box you get again a shower gel and lotion, but the bonus here is they are two different yummy scents which are Christmas Cookie shower gel and Sweet Creamy Frosting body lotion.

How do we possibly wear scents like this without getting eaten by spatula wielding, oven mitt wearing zombies :P :P :D :D

I love that on the bottles are actual recipes to make cookies and frosting, how delicious is that. I will be testing out their Philosophy over the holidays lol.

Again the packaging is super cute and a throw back to yesteryear.

The sweet cream frosting lotion smells good, but seems it might take on a funny undertone. The Christmas cookie shower gel smells amazing and good enough to eat (but don't do that).

Again each bottle is 240ml and I got it for $14.99

I have been waiting to haul these items so now I can finally use them and get the bake shoppe happening in the bath:)

TILL NEXT TIME
HAVE A HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS

XOXO

PHILOSOPHY SNOW FLAKE WONDERLAND GIFT SET IN "SNOW ANGEL"

Good day everyone,

I have known about Philosophy products for years and at one time I did buy them more often, but as priorities change you realize spending $30 on bath products isn't always the most practical thing.
The other day I did some shopping and went into Winners because you are sure to leave with some great find or other.

I was very pleased to find not one but two gift sets from Philosophy, the second one I will be posting separately.

Lets take a look at the Snowflake Wonderland gift set offering the scent Snow Angel

First off I absolutely love the packaging for Philosophy gift sets they are so whimsical and festive.

Now what about the scent it self "Snow Angel" It seems to me to have a base of pear scent and it is sweet but delicate like the new fallen snow. It makes me think of taking a crisp winter walk and taking a deep breath of cold air.

I like that the lotion has shea butter as well as olive and macadamia oil in it, which all will leave your skin deeply hydrated.
The shower gel leaves a delicate shimmer on the skin. I would say the scent does not last incredibly long though.

The only thing I find a little discomforting is when a package warns not to use something excessively or with prolonged exposure as it may cause irritation to skin and urinary tract???? SAY WHAT! Well then I don't think I will be using this on my lady parts if that's the case YIKES.

I love the beautiful pearlescent swirl of this shower gel it is a minty version of Philosophy's other holiday favourite "Have a Cherry Christmas" which obviously leans more red/pink and looks like this. I would love to try this sometime as well because I am crazy for anything that is cherry scented.

So as mentioned I found the "Snow Angel" gift set at Winners and it was only $14.99 which is pretty much half price. The same set is currently on Sephora and selling for $26.00 and is LIMITED EDITION so bare that in mind if your going to be buying as a gift.

Each bottle is 240ml/ 8 oz.

All in all I do like "Snow Angel", but I am not entirely crazy in love with the scent. I will actually be giving this away as a gift. I think the second set is more up my alley, so stay tuned to see that one in an upcoming blog.

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS IF YOU HAVE TRIED SNOW ANGEL FROM PHILOSOPHY?????

XOXO

FIRST IMPRESSIONS ON MAKE UP FOR EVER GLITTER AND AQUA CREAM

Good day to all,

So first I want to start by saying thank you ever so much to MAKE UP FOR EVER CAD for sending these two products to me. Regardless if the products were sent to me for consideration my thoughts and opinions still remain my own. So far what I can say is the items that have been sent to me in the past from Make Up For Ever are all great items and I try to use them as often as I can especially the makeup brush I received.

Moving on this is not an indepth review this is just more or less a "Show & Tell" because I have not had a chance to really work with the products, but I will be so stay tuned for that;)

The first product is the ever popular AQUA CREAM in #3 SILVER

Here is the info from the box

HERE ARE SOME VARIOUS SHOTS OF THE PRODUCT IN LOW LIGHT AND DIRECT LIGHT

AND YES IT REALLY DOES HOLD TRUE, IT IS WATERPROOF

AQUA CREAM #3 SILVER $28 CAD

I think this product will be a lot of fun to work with because you can use it for a sexy holiday look, but you can also use this product very creatively. I love that you can apply it to the eyes, cheeks and lips. Based on a quick test on my hand it applies creamy, but sets to a more powder finish that adheres to the skin well and it can be built up with big impact or just a touch blended out will leave a silver glow without being to overpowering. It does not feel tacky, its actually very smooth.

Last item is from the new LIMITED EDITION collection called MIDNIGHT GLOW HOLIDAY. This is a glitter in the colour GUNMETAL. These are graded round glitter particles that can easily and safely be used for your hair, face and body. If used correctly and sparingly you can really create some beautiful nighttime holiday looks that will make you sparkle like the winter night sky. The glitter is a mix of black, rich blue and gold pieces. A very alluring combination.

GUNMETAL 4G FOR $20 CAD

It will be interesting to see how these glitters deliver and how they stay on overall using a tacky base first of course;)

and there you have it, some more lovely products to consider for your Christmas wish list OR for the makeup lover in your life, but keep in mind this glitter is Limited Edition.

BOTH ITEMS ARE AVAILABLE NOW AT SEPHORA.CA OR MAKE UP FOR EVER BOUTIQUES

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS IF YOU HAVE TRIED THE AQUA CREAMS, ALSO IF YOU HAVE SEEN THE ENTIRE MIDNIGHT GLOW COLLECTION???

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY

LOVE MAKEUP'ASYLUM

NO BUY NOVEMBER PART2 EYE PRODUCTS

Hi all,

Continuing on with the "No Buy November" this is week 2 which is focusing on eye products. I will try to make my round up quick as I have quite a few items that I wanted to share. For those that know me well enough I am obsessed with eye shadows and eye makeup in general next to lip products. I believe we truly speak with our eyes first, so it's important to emphasis that feature.

So here we go.

First up is one of the quads from Sedona Lace's "Babe collection."  I won the entire collection a few months back and I still am as impressed now as I was the day I got them. If you have never given these shadows a try, it is a must. Also they come in a clever compact that allows you to pop each colour out to customize a quad to your liking for work and/or travel, also a perfect size mirror in every compact.

Each quad has a girl's name and this is Suzanne

You can get all 5 quads for $49.95 or if you have a favourite they can be purchased for $12.95 each.

Next is Avon's eyeshadow primer which only came in light beige and a medium beige, but it seems this product is no longer available in the U.S and in Canada is only available in light beige:/. However the product does an excellent job covering any darkness, redness or lines and veins within the eyelid area. I have heard this compared on YouTube to Urban Decay's shadow primer, but I can't say if it holds true as I don't own any UD products at this time. I own both Avon shades and the darker one is for the summer months when I am tanned.
You get 3.5g for $8

Next on my list is Hard Candy Glamoflauge which is a heavy duty concealer and I have been using this for about a year, but took a little break to test out other waters. I find because it is quite thick you need very little and its not the best to wear in the summer. However it does provide excellent coverage. Its very inexpensive at about $5 a tube and you get tons of product that will last you for a very long time.

Revlon colorstay liquid eye pen (BLACKEST BLACK) is one of the best liquid eyeliners I have used, especially if your a girl who loves your winged look. Also this does not move, it stays in place till the moment you go to remove it at days end. You can also do a fine line or a very thick bold line.

This product glides on fairly nice with little to no drag and can be purchased for about $9

One of my fave jumbo type eye pencils is from Rimmel, which is the ScandalEyes eye pencil stick in the insanely pigmented colour 005 TEMPTING TURQUOISE. This definitely makes any eyes stand out and works well with my brown eyes because brown and blue are very complimentary to one another.

Another amazing product is from PAUL & JOE which is their dual ended eye and lip gloss, but the focus for the moment is on the eye gloss portion. Yes you read it right "eye gloss" comes in a tube with a sponge tip applicator and applied to the lid and seems pretty wet. However it dries very quick and the finish is so beautiful, feminine and leaves a soft pink foil look to the eye and really makes them wow worthy. I have been asked many times what I have on my eyes every time I wear this product. I was sent this from PR back in the early summer, but would surely hand over the $34 if I ran out, however this was a limited edition item, so I guess I am out of luck.

I tried to find the name of the colour on the tube and there is nothing on it, however I have reviewed this item before, so feel free to check out my previous post.

Next two items are both from Maybelline and that is the Color Tattoo 24Hr eyeshadow, but this is the Limited Edition "Waves of White" which I had quite the time tracking down back in the summer. Ah no less I did get it and it is amazing. This is white that has a reflex of colour depending on the light, it can go from a blue to a pink to purple. I have seen this used over top of black eye shadow and it is pretty mind blowing the results, especially if you love all out dramatic eyes.

to further my obsession with light catching eyeshadow and/or pigments the next item is the Color Tattoo pure pigment in BARELY BRAZEN. As soon as these pigments released I purchased 8 of the 11 colours and to me this one is a sure favourite. It is a stunning pink/rose gold colour that catches the light beautifully and really amps up any eye look or can be used for incredible accents on top of the brow bone or in the corner of the eye to create that glow and lightness.

and I thought I would save the unsung hero for last. I truly believe that this palette released by Sephora + Pantone Universe did not get nearly enough recognition as it should have. This is truly a diamond in the rough. This amazing palette is called the "Precious Metals" and offers up a staggering 35 shadows and a giant mirror to boot. The packing is equally beautiful and very slim and can be slipped into an overnight bag with endless possibilities. I did not swatch any of these but you can also check out a previous review I did on this palette as well. Here are a couple of shots of the palette in all its splendor. Sephora and Pantone have been bringing out some amazing collab projects and I highly recommend checking out what ever they release for the Holiday2013-14 because I am sure it will be worth every penny.

The two colours shown here are L2R: Muted Clay & Dusty Pink

Lots of colour options under one lid and I luckly caught this baby on Mother's Day week end on clearance at Sephora for $30 (SCORE)

One last eye item, I thought I would mention a brush. I have had this brush forever and It was part of a set. I have no idea who makes it or even where I got the set from, but it has been a long long time favorite for blending out my shadows and I will be said when "Old Faithful" finally kicks the bucket.

Thank you all for reading this very long blog post on favourite eye products I have rediscovered hanging around in my forever growing stash.

HAVE YOU FOUND ANYTHING IN YOUR STASH LATELY THAT YOUR EXCITED AGAIN TO BE USING THAT ARE EYE PRODUCTS???

Till we meet again

STAY BEAUTIFUL XO
