MAYBELLINE COLOR TATTOO, GOSH POLISH, ESSENCE NAIL STAMP KIT

HI TO ALL,

Today is just a random review of some odd ball items I have picked up a long the way and wanted to share.

So after trying three other Maybelline color tattoo's I had hope to snag two of the limited edition one's which would have been "Waves Of White" and "Icy Mint," but to no avail I have not been able to locate them near me. So the regular colours were on sale for $4.99 at SHOPPERS DRUG MART so I just grabbed the colour EDGY EMERALD. It too is also a very nice colour but also it's been out for a while now and I am sure many other people have already reviewed it.

I do see the green tones, but when I think emerald, I think like the Emerald City in the "Wizard of OZ", to me this colour is more a bluish/green, not a true green. The birthstone Emerald is another good example, which is what also comes to mind. I do think this will easily fit in with many of the eyeshadows I already have. I do like using the colour tattoo's alone or as a base to amp up other shadows. Its a very good multi-use product and I recommend it for people who don't have a lot of time for makeup but want a splash of colour on the lid before heading out. .14oz/4g

***JUST A QUICK UPDATE JULY 15****
I find out of all the color tattoo's I have bought this one is least favorable as it tends to apply poorly and has a drier consistency then any of the other's and it does glide on nice and creamy.

The next item is a new nail polish colour to the GOSH cosmetics line. The nail polishes are now called "OH MY GOSH" and the colour I chose is OCEAN CLUB. This is a chunky glitter that is good for top coats over your favorite blue or green nail polish. It has a mix of true green and rich blue glitter and is very fun for more aquatic takes on summer polish.

The bottles are only $4 but you only get 5ml so they are mini size.
The prepack that was available at my SHOPPERS DRUG MART had about 10-12 different colours to choose from.

If you'd like to see a pic of it on just click the INSTAGRAM tab on the side bar. The pic shows what it looks like on top of a light blue metallic polish. Quite a nice combo.

Lastly I am new to the world of this nail stamping craze and I am not always the most patient person, so I don't know if this will be a good marriage. However I thought I would start small, so I got a mini set by Essence. The kit came with the scraping tool, a metal disk with several designs on it and the rubber stamper.

I say for the price this is a decent fun little kit. Just make sure to peel the cover off the metal plate, because like a loser I thought it wasn't working and was ready to take it back, only to realize it was all because there is a thin film protecting the plate. So remember PEEL then PLAY lol.

I haven't done a full set of nails with this yet as I have been busy with many other things and don't always have the time. So if you too are new to the world of nail stamping then get this, its a good starting point for novice nail stampers. I see so many beautiful looks on Instagram, but just never seem to find the time to try it out myself.

So if your NEW to nail stamping as well I will give you a quick 101 on what you do.

1. Peel plastic cover off metal disk;)
2. Decide which design you want to use
3. Put a generous drop/s of nail polish on that design
4. Scrape the excess off with the scraping tool
5. Take rubber stamp and press down firmly to pick up image on stamp
6. Start at the side of the nail and sort of press and roll to the other side, but don't drag or the image will smudge. When you pick up the stamp the image should be nicely applied on the nail.

So that's the easiest way I can explain how to do nail stamping. Keep in mind you can do all your nails or even just an accent nail. Just have fun with it.

Essence products are carried at SHOPPERS DRUG MART
this kit was only $3.99. So find a location near you and shop today

So that covers my review today and I hope you will all come back soon for more from

ANNA SUI EYE COLOUR CRAYON'S & DOUBLE EYE COLOR SHADOW PENS

Today we are going to take a look at Anna Sui's "Eye Color Crayon's" which are basically a self sharpening eye colour that will add shimmer and dimension to any eye look. These eye crayons are created with a "STAY FIT OIL" so they wear seamlessly all day.

The first colour is 900- This is a nice aquatic blue with a gorgeous shimmer sure to make the eyes pop. You can wear this alone or with your favorite eyeshadow combination.

It almost looks more minty under the light, but I assure you it's a richer blue as you will see in the next picture

This is definitely a great colour for those warm sunny days at the beach. If you like to wear a bit of colour to the beach you can wear it confidently knowing it will stay on even if you go in the water.

The next colour is more dramatic and will work great for a late night out dancing and give you that sexy smokey glimmer to the eye. This is #002

This colour has some what of a duochrome finish. It appears black, but the flash is an inky purple tone that is quite nice because it's a step up from the norm of just the basic black kohl look.
The only downside to these color crayons is when its time to take it off you will notice significant shimmer left behind on the skin. You may have to work at it a little more to get it all off.
However for the lover of all things shimmer I do recommend these as they do have nice colour payoff and the staying power is excellent. Also the colour selection itself is decent.

You get 1.5g/.05oz for between $20-30 depending on where you shop.

Next up is the "DOUBLE EYE COLOR." This is a dual ended pen style product that offers two complimentary eye shadows in a travel friendly application. You can blend, define and line with this product and give your eyes beautiful washes of colour.

As you can see these colours are bright and richly pigmented. The one pen comes with the pink and pearl white and the other is the yellow and mint.
The mint colour has quickly become a favorite of mine and seems to apply the easiest out of all the colours. All though the pink swatched well I find it a challenge to apply to the eye and get the colour amped up.
The mint colour reminds me of a softer version of NARS larger than life eyeliner called "Barrow Street."

However for the amount that you pay there is very little product in these duo's coming in at a mere
0.8g/.02oz and your looking at $30-35 OUCH! big price, small amount of product. Don't get me wrong the colours are lovely and if your in a position to purchase these then go for it, I for one would not pay that for any eyeliner or shadow especially when you don't get much and there are so many equally great products out there for a fraction of the price.

So I hope you discovered a product here today that you may want to try and I hope your all enjoying the beginning's of your summer. Thanks for reading.

Stay tuned as part 3 of my Anna Sui haul continues with Lip products coming soon to

MAYBELLINE POLKA DOTS & HOLOGRAPHIC NAIL POLISH

Hi everyone,

Thought I would share with you the Maybelline Polka Dots and Holographic polish that I purchased.

I'll start with the holographic since I only bought one which is 25 MYSTIC GREEN. This was really the only colour in the holographic collection that tickled my fancy, but that will differ from person to person.

This is a very nice chrome green with lots of shine. It applies nicely, but I do notice a bit of streaking. I love the rich multi dimensional tone of this particular polish. However as I said the other colours in the collection fell a bit short for me personally. I also have a lot of polish already and have some other polishes arriving soon that I will be reviewing.
The other 4 colours in this collection are Blue Blaze, Bold Gold, Lavender Lustre, Alluring Rose
which you can see on Maybelline's website now

Next up are the Polka Dots, first is PRETTY IN POLKA which is a nice girly pink. I actually really like this "POLKA DOT" effect as they are calling it. It's fun to look at and makes a bold statement.

The base of the nail polish is like a jelly affect its not opaque and you do need at least 2 coats to achieve a deeper colour and evenly distribute the confetti.
I also think this would be super fun polish for tween girls every where. So why not have a nail polish party for your girls today and make sure to have these exciting polka dot polishes ready, sure to be a hit.

Then I also got the colour BLUE MARKS THE SPOT. I really like this colour as well, but its funny because my husband said it reminds him of granite counter tops lol. Which yes I can also see how that might be or even the textured countertop paint. Now you can match your nails to your kitchen;)

The last colour I picked is DROPS OF JADE this is my favorite of the polishes I am mentioning today. It's bright, oceanesque (if that's even a real word) and will go well with summer attire.

All in all I give these polishes a 4 out 5 because they are really fun to wear and look at. Also I have previously purchased a color show polish in the past which was "Green with Envy" and found it had fairly good staying power.

So the day after I wrote this blog I made sure to wear one of the polka dot colours all day. I found that if I just apply that alone the colour base does start to chip. I do a lot daily and have that problem with most polishes no matter the brand. However when it's time to take it off make sure to have industrial strength remover on hand as the confetti bits make it quite the task. I love sparkle and jazzy confetti polishes, I just really hate trying to get them back off.
Also the other thing I wanted to point out that is good is if you make a minor error with the polka dot polish its barely noticeable because so much else is going on with the polish itself. So it's pretty fool proof. I find this a bonus as usually I don't have a lot of time to sit there waiting for base coat, 2nd coats and top coats to dry and I just need to get it on and go. This is a good option for me.

each bottle is 7ml and was $2.96 at Canadian Walmart's this week

I would love to see Maybelline bring out a holographic red, orange and yellow in this collection that would be awesome.

Let me know in the comments what your favorites are in the polka dots and holographic collection

till next time everyone....

MAYBELLINE PURE PIGMENTS ***NEW***

HI TO ALL,

Today I am very excited to share with you the most beautiful  and most anticipated products I have come across since I started blogging three months ago. I purchased the items myself I am about to show you and I am not being paid for my views or opinions, they are truly my own, so enjoy.

Maybelline all I can say is bravo, these new PURE PIGMENTS are absolutely stunning, totally out of this world and worth every nickel (since pennies are obsolete;).)

Before we start I want to add I bought 8 of the 9 colours and will be doing a 2 part review as to cover all 8 in one review is far to long and you'll enjoy coming back in anticipation of the last 4;)

So lets have a look and enjoy the rich experience with these fine gems.

The first colour is 25 WILD GOLD. This is truly a bold bright yellow gold that will look as though you have applied real gold leaf to the eyes. Not that this colour needs any help being amped up, but to help the colour pack on and stay use the color tattoo 24hr eyeshadow in 45 BOLD GOLD, what a beautiful partnership.

So this photo was taken near a regular table lamp no special camera work or lighting, so that should speak for it self about the insanity of these pigments. This colour surely would be a favorite of Cleopatra if she still lived today I am certain.

Then we have 10 BRASH BLUE and yes this blue is very self assertive if you didn't notice from the picture.

You better watch out Mimi from Drew Carey because your blue shadow don't have anything on me and my brash blue lol.

Next up is 20 PINK REBEL this pink has a duochrome finish that reflects a light purple/violet iridescence and for you gal's out there that love your pinks then do not miss this.

PINK REBEL is truly a pigment of beauty reminiscent of Memphis pink roses and can truly hold its own or be worn with "inked in pink" as its companion base.

The last colour for part 1 of this PURE PIGMENT segment is the colour 45 DOWNTOWN BROWN. Now don't get me wrong as I said at the start I love these pigments, but out of them all this is probably my least favorite. I am more for the extreme and bold, but this will actually be a great colour for everyday use to accent any neutral look to just add a hit of shimmer and pizazz.

This particular colour actually reminds me a lot of Mac's "TEMPTING" lustre from the previous style warriors collection. It's not exact, but close. So if that's a colour from Mac that you loved and miss then pick up this pure pigment by Maybelline.

So in closing a couple of points I would like to make. If you want your pigments to last always try to prime your eye before application be it NYX jumbo pencil in Milk, Avon eyeshadow primer or higher end products like too faced shadow insurance. BUYER BEWARE the BLUE does actually stain and you need to wash the area at least 3 times for it to be gone, just as a heads up so you are not alarmed if you use it. Again these pigments are extremely intense saturated colours and are on the higher end of the dramatic scale, but certain colours can be sheered out and toned down for everyday use.
I truly hope Maybelline has plans for many more colour offerings to come. I would love to see a true red like a "fire engine" and that would be a fun name for it as well. So Maybelline if you read this and  like the name and the idea you need to give credit where credit is due.

The only colour I did not purchase was the black with shimmer particles because I don't feel for me that would be used quickly enough, it is pretty as I have seen it in person. I look forward to seeing how others in the Internet world will utilize that pigment for various looks.

The pure pigments are currently available in Canadian stores like Walmart and Shopper's Drug Mart.
This week in the Canadian Walmart flyer you can get the pigments for $5.97 WOW great deal as they will be around $8-10 other wise depending on where you shop for your eye candy.

The pigments come in a round small plastic jar inside they do come with a sifter insert for those who love that instead of it just open to dip your brush in. Each pigment is 1.5g which doesn't seem much, but I seriously can tell you all you need is merely a pinch like pepper to get the full effect. These will last a long time, especially if you choose to get all the colours as I did.

HOPE you enjoyed this review and stay tuned for part 2 coming soon on the remaining four colours in the PURE PIGMENTS collection. Not to be missed, two of my favorites I saved for last.
