ANNA SUI PRIZE PACK I WON

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to post some pics of the Anna Sui items I won from Dave Lackie on Twitter. I have had no real time to use any of this stuff as of yet with the exception of the lipstick, so this is more a look and first impression, not an in depth review.
The items I won are Liquid Eyeliner 001 in black, a lipstick 400 in a gorgeous true red , and 400 Rose Cheek Color, as well a La Vie De Boheme shower gel.

The shower gel starts with a Turkish Rose scent which I normally am not a huge fan of, but this melding with berries, peony and other florals, and warm vanilla and woods make this a very interesting scent that is more mature and sultry.  (Tube in the picture above) Approx. $40

The eyeliner at first I was having a total epic fail trying to get this working and felt like a total ass that I was not even clicking the right part of the tube DUH! Once I actually realized how to use it this is a very nice fluid liner that will be perfect for winging it;)

With time and practice I can see this becoming a favourite for how fine of a line you can make and for exceptional tight lining.
Approx. $40

The Rose Cheek Color is very pretty colours and esthetically pleasing to look at with its embossed rose pattern

Again I can't say how it wears or how long it wears because I have not used it yet, just been glancing at it in passing *sigh*

This blush runs Approx. $55

Lastly the one item I have used a couple of times and adore it which is 400 lipstick in this stunning, sexy red made to be paired with that perfect LBD.
So creamy, heavily pigmented and absolutely jaw dropping gorgeous, sure to turn some heads

I love this lipstick, but if your not in the market to spend $30-35 on a lipstick as I certainly am not, then a very close dupe for this red that is an affordable alternative at $10 would be Sonia Kashuk's satin luxe lip colour 93 Classic Red. I have compared the two and they are really close in colour.

I hope this gave you some in sight into the price points and products available from Anna Sui

Thanks for reading and lots more coming to Makeup'Asylum

XOXO:)

ANNA SUI ROCK ME AND SECRET WISH FRAGRANCE REVIEW

Today is the last review I will be doing for a long while on Anna Sui products. So on a sweeter note I thought the last review should be two of her fragrances.

First up is SECRET WISH- This is a fresh fragrance with depth that screams summer time, at least to me any way. It smells of fresh floral's enveloped with sweet juicy essence of melon and lime and lemon tones linger nicely in the foreground of this scent. It has a mysterious tone to it that is a little hard to pinpoint, but is certainly unique.

Since I received this eau de toilette I have reached for it most days. I love scents that are not so common. Now a days you can literally pass a dozen people who pretty much smell the same because so many people buy very common fragrance or what ever is popular at the moment.
The bottle is fairly basic, but still looks pleasing with small detailing, geometric shape that can either be stood or laid on it's side and the aqua coloured liquid is a sure hit with me.
If your a fan of a fragrance such a Dolce & Gabbana light blue then this fragrance should be on your list of ones to try.

SECRET WISH comes in various sizes and price range from $18-75
This particular 75ml bottle would run you around $70

SECRET WISH was released in 2005

Moving a long the other scent I received is Anna Sui's ROCK ME- This bottle is a real show stopper with it's girly curved guitar bottle draped with a butterfly, hearts, stars and peace sign motif. So why not channel your inner rock star and give this scent a try.

I find this to be a very sweet scent with a strong hold on peach at the start and fusing into the honeysuckle, jasmine and waterlily. The dry down then takes on a warmer feeling with the amber and cedarwood marrying with all the other scents for quite the grand finale.
I find that I prefer the "Secret Wish" over this scent and this is not normally a fragrance I would jump to purchase. However this was gifted to me and I appreciate it no less. Even if the fragrance is not one I will use a lot, I will enjoy the aesthetic of the bottle sitting on my vanity.

Again there are various sizes for this fragrance and the price range is about the same as Secret Wish

This is a 75ml bottle for around $60

You can find Anna Sui fragrances at select SHOPPERS DRUG MART locations, as well as Secret Wish is carried at Sephora and you can also see these products on Anna Sui's direct website.

or
 and

When it comes to fragrance always make sure to go to the store and use the tester. Make sure to spray near pulse points and actually walk around the store for a while or go finish up your shopping to see how it melds with your own unique body chemistry. Just remember what may not work for one person, may just be the best thing you ever discovery.

BOTH FRAGRANCES WERE GIFTED TO ME FOR THE PURPOSE OF REVIEW. ALL MY OPINIONS ARE STILL MY OWN AND BASED ON MY OWN EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCTS.

Be sure to come back often, Till then...

ANNA SUI MOISTURE RICH FLUID FOUNDATION AND LOOSE POWDER

HI EVERYONE,

Now that I am drawing near a close of reviewing Anna Sui products I thought I would save the items I like most for the end.

So today lets take a look at the MOISTURE RICH FLUID FOUNDATION P05- This foundation glides on effortlessly and blends out to a beautiful dewy satin finish. Surprisingly this foundation works well for me, which normally moisturizing ones react poorly with my oily skin.
If I set it with a brush of loose powder it stays looking quite nice most of the day with little to no noticeable difference.  The feature I like most about this foundation is that on my skin it does not change colour from oxidization, which to me is a HUGE plus.

As you can see this foundation blends out flawlessly on the skin. This colour is my perfect match.
So if your looking for a luxe foundation that stays put, stays true to its colour and blends in like nobodys business, then give Anna Sui's moisture rich foundation a try today. Also you need very little to cover the entire face, so a bottle will last quite a while. I also like that this foundation tones down the redness in my skin and evens out my complexion. Keep in mind that is does have the signature rose scent, but that dissipates shortly after applying.

You get 30ml in a beautiful frosted glass rose shaped bottle with pump for $42

Then we have the LOOSE POWDER #700 LIGHT BEIGE- Let me start by saying that the container alone is  nothing short of amazing and will look lovely on your vanity for years to come. The interesting feature to this powder is the powder itself is contained to a paper holder that you peel open. You then place the sifting screen on top and use it with your favorite powder brush or the beautiful thick purple powder puff that comes with it.

This powder has been around for 15 years and has gained quite the cult following in the cosmetic world. The innovative thing about it is that you can just buy a refill which saves on extra unnecessary packaging and cuts down on cost. I plan to use mine for any other powders I may use down the road.
The powder itself gives a nice finish to soften the appearance of your skin and is equipped with SPF16. Pair this with the foundation and you have a match made in heaven.

So if your in the market to treat your self to this velvety fine milled loose powder you will get
16g and it will run you about $50.

Overall I am very satisfied with the results of both the foundation and the powder which I have been testing now for almost three weeks. At this point in time I see no down side, other then the cost involved. However these would make nice gifts for a loved one who adores makeup.

You can find Anna Sui products at select SHOPPERS DRUG MART locations and online.

ANNA SUI NAIL ART COLOR N NAIL POLISH

Hi everyone,

Today I will be sharing two nail polishes with you. The Anna Sui "Nail Art Color N" polishes offer a short bristle brush for ease of application and literally will give your entire nail bed coverage in one sweep application. The two polishes I received are glitter. As some of you know that read my blog more frequently I have already admitted I love glitter, but hate taking it back off. So lets take a look.

So the first glitter polish is #380- This is a pretty feminine raspberry pink sparkle with a clear gel base. This is smaller glitter particles and tends to distribute fairly well over the entire nail. You will need more then one application of you want to wear it alone, but I recommend using it over your favorite opaque colour instead for a better result.

I love these nail polish bottles, so incredibly pretty, however they have changed the packaging this year. The new bottles look like a dress form with ruffled dresses over top, which are equally as cute.

The second colour is #81 I think this is a really fun glitter and looks like a party for your nails. It is a mixed glitter so there is green, iridescent, pink and gold glitter throughout. Out of the two polishes I prefer this one. You will also notice that even Anna Sui nail polishes are infused with her infamous rose scent, now that I like for nail polish.

I find a big selling point for Anna Sui's products is the aesthetic of them. I admit too I am a big sucker for packaging. I find on occasion I have bought items merely because of that, only to discover the product inside is an epic fail. Not saying that's the case with these nail polishes, just putting this reality in to focus.

These nail polishes are 10ml of product and cost approx. $15

There are 13 different colours to choose from in the "Nail Art Colour N" collection and about 32 colours to choose from in the regular "Nail Color N" collection. Lots of variety and option, so check them out at a SHOPPERS DRUG MART NEAR YOU

or you can find Anna Sui nail polish all over the internet, and see the products on the website as well at

ANNA SUI LIPSTICKS LIP ROUGE G & GLOSS C

Today I will be reviewing for you three Anna Sui "Lip Rouge G" lipsticks and one "Lip Gloss C."
All items I am reviewing today were gifted to me and all my views and opinions are my own. So lets get started.

First up is from the Vivid base lipsticks and it's #300 - This is a very sheer soft pink that gives you that soft petal pink touch of colour to the lips, while adding lots of shine. I do find you have to reapply fairly frequently, so the claim of them being long lasting doesn't fit the bill here, at least not with this shade.

This would be nice over top a more pigmented pink colour that you love to wear or wear it alone if you want to keep it low key.

This colour is ok, but I don't find it anything exceptional.

Then we have the colour #305 which is a cerise pink, this is definitely the most vivid and pigmented out of the three colours I have.

Again this adds a lot of shine to the lip, but because this is more pigmented it tends to have better staying power. I do love how smoothly these lipsticks apply.

Last lipstick is #700, This is the most true nude with a cream finish that I have tried. This is my favorite of the three colours I received. I love anything that gives the lips a muted tone.

I really love the packaging for the lipsticks and find them to be well made and nice to hold. The lipsticks are on par with other brands, but do not surpass my expectations. The other thing I don't like is Anna Sui's signature rose scent is in the lipsticks too and I don't really enjoy that on my lips or having to taste it. It's fine in the face powder or foundation, but I don't think it's suitable for putting on the lips, that's just me.

There are 17 shades in the "Vivid Base" lipsticks and 5 shades in the "Dazzle Base" which have a lot of glitter.
Each lipstick is 3.4g/.11oz and are between $30-40 depending on where you purchase

The last item today is Anna Sui's lip gloss C #301
This is a pretty bubble gum pink in the tube and when applied leaves a soft pink, highly reflective finish. It applies easily without drag and seems to make your pout fuller and lips feel smoother.

As you can see the colour payoff is very faint and is more for the shine then anything. Again you will smell and taste the signature rose scent. So if your not a fan of rose scent this product will not be for you. This gloss is slightly tacky to the touch, but not unbearable.

You get 7.6ml/.24oz for around $25-30

If you are loving any of these products shown here today and live in Canada you can easily locate these products at various SHOPPERS DRUG MART locations. So check them out today or head in store to see a full range of Anna Sui products today.

Thanks for reading everyone. Come back soon for Part 4 of my Anna Sui haul as I will be reviewing NAIL POLISH next, till then.....

ANNA SUI EYE COLOUR CRAYON'S & DOUBLE EYE COLOR SHADOW PENS

Today we are going to take a look at Anna Sui's "Eye Color Crayon's" which are basically a self sharpening eye colour that will add shimmer and dimension to any eye look. These eye crayons are created with a "STAY FIT OIL" so they wear seamlessly all day.

The first colour is 900- This is a nice aquatic blue with a gorgeous shimmer sure to make the eyes pop. You can wear this alone or with your favorite eyeshadow combination.

It almost looks more minty under the light, but I assure you it's a richer blue as you will see in the next picture

This is definitely a great colour for those warm sunny days at the beach. If you like to wear a bit of colour to the beach you can wear it confidently knowing it will stay on even if you go in the water.

The next colour is more dramatic and will work great for a late night out dancing and give you that sexy smokey glimmer to the eye. This is #002

This colour has some what of a duochrome finish. It appears black, but the flash is an inky purple tone that is quite nice because it's a step up from the norm of just the basic black kohl look.
The only downside to these color crayons is when its time to take it off you will notice significant shimmer left behind on the skin. You may have to work at it a little more to get it all off.
However for the lover of all things shimmer I do recommend these as they do have nice colour payoff and the staying power is excellent. Also the colour selection itself is decent.

You get 1.5g/.05oz for between $20-30 depending on where you shop.

Next up is the "DOUBLE EYE COLOR." This is a dual ended pen style product that offers two complimentary eye shadows in a travel friendly application. You can blend, define and line with this product and give your eyes beautiful washes of colour.

As you can see these colours are bright and richly pigmented. The one pen comes with the pink and pearl white and the other is the yellow and mint.
The mint colour has quickly become a favorite of mine and seems to apply the easiest out of all the colours. All though the pink swatched well I find it a challenge to apply to the eye and get the colour amped up.
The mint colour reminds me of a softer version of NARS larger than life eyeliner called "Barrow Street."

However for the amount that you pay there is very little product in these duo's coming in at a mere
0.8g/.02oz and your looking at $30-35 OUCH! big price, small amount of product. Don't get me wrong the colours are lovely and if your in a position to purchase these then go for it, I for one would not pay that for any eyeliner or shadow especially when you don't get much and there are so many equally great products out there for a fraction of the price.

So I hope you discovered a product here today that you may want to try and I hope your all enjoying the beginning's of your summer. Thanks for reading.

Stay tuned as part 3 of my Anna Sui haul continues with Lip products coming soon to

ANNA SUI PART 1 FULL MASCARA, LIQUID LINER & LIQUID EYE COLOR

HAPPY DAY TO EVERYONE,

ALL ITEMS WERE GIFTED TO ME

I was anticipating having at least one of these Anna Sui reviews up already, but it ended up taking longer then expected. So here we are and let's get started with Part 1. The eye's. Everything I am about to say is of my own opinion and I am not being paid for my remarks. This is also my very first experience with Anna Sui cosmetics, so lets go.

First is Anna Sui SUPER BLACK FULL MASCARA- This is a very good mascara for the most part. It adds volume and defines lashes, but beware not to do to many coats as it can start to look spidery, unless your going for the affect. I do notice my lashes look fluttery and vintage glam after using this mascara.

This is a very standard wand, but does load up the colour to the lashes. I have always been more of a fan of these brush wands as appose to the newer silicone style with the exception of Maybelline Rocket mascara.

If your in the market to buy this lovely mascara your going to get 7.4ml/.28oz for about $30

The next item today is LIQUID EYE LINER WP 500- So I really haven't worn this a full day yet, but I will give you my first impression since I did one application and swatches. I for one am very picky when it comes to liquid liner and sadly this doesn't do it for me.

I have read other peoples thoughts who absolutely adore this product, but it doesn't mean it's for everyone. I find it hard to work with, that's just me. I prefer a felt tip applicator for liquid liner, not a brush, especially when the brush is splaying it's not going to give a flawless application. The only thing I will give this liner is that it has strong staying power and the brown colour is a nice softer tone for day looks instead of the constant harshness of black.

Would I buy this on any given day? probably not, especially coming in at $30-35 depending on where you shop. However if you like the looks of it or would repurchase it I say go for it, we all like something different and don't be discouraged just because it didn't work out for me.
I will play around with it more over time and may follow up if I discover a shift in my current opinion.

The next two items are the same product just different colours.
They are the LIQUID EYE COLOUR G- The first colour is a silver/blue metallic. This liquid to powder shadow fluidly glides on to the eye leaving a sparkly angelic wash of colour over the lid. Light reflecting particles of bright white and green are very dominate in this eye shadow. If you don't like glitter this one may have to sit out.

I tried photographing it in various locations of light and it still looks white in the picture. The photo doesn't do it justice. It is a very nice colour, but I do find compare to the other colour I have it seems more runny.

Which brings me too the next liquid eye color, which is a beautiful bronze metallic and I really like this one. Its a colour I prefer, its more metallic and finer sparkles. Sparkles in general whether in eye shadows, shimmer powders or nail polish generally tend to be a pain to clean up.

This is a nice rich bronze tone that will illuminate anyone's eyes. I especially love these tones for doing intense bronze summer looks with, I am glad this is in my collection.
This quick drying colour lasts for hours and does not budge till it's ready to take off. All though it does last for hours the great part is removal is a breeze even with a basic baby wipe. It will add a dazzle to your eyes that will have other's taking a second look.
So go a head and splurge for 5.2ml/.17fl.oz $30-40

I would say out of everything I reviewed here today the two items I would buy of my own accord is the "Full Mascara" and the "Liquid Eye Color G" in bronze.

Leave me a comment if you have tried any of these products and what you did or did not like about them.

In Canada SHOPPERS DRUG MART has a vast selection of Anna Sui products depending on location. If you live in the Richmond Hill area you can find these products at the Shopper's location at 1070 Major Mackenzie Dr. Let them know Makeup'Asylum sent you.

Also you can shop on many sites on line, but always make sure your buying from a reputable seller as there is a lot of counterfeit products out there from online sellers

Stay tuned as I will be doing 5 more reviews on various other Anna Sui products all coming soon to MAKEUP'ASYLUM
